The plane always wants to put 4369.6 lbs / 1982 kg of fuel on launch. Adjusting to a fuel load less than that even via the X-Plane 11 menu (before loading the plane), results in the plane automatically refilling to the same onboard fuel load. Is there a way to prevent the automatic baseline fuel? Occurs in Training mode or Career mode with a new airframe.

Context of question: It breaks any reporting clients such as SmartCars and FSEconomy that track automatic refueling and fail a flight from being accepted if you don't want at least that much fuel onboard.

It doesn't automatically refuel each time. The fuel state persists from one sim session to the next. The very first time you load you get some fuel in the aircraft, after that the fuel the aircraft has in there is fuel you add to it, just like the real thing.

Non-persistent mode will, of course, always start of with some fuel in the aircraft.

I'm not 100% on how this interacts with SmartCars or FSEconomy though - can you explain a bit more about the issue?

Graeme - I'll double check persistent mode, but at least in non-persistent mode the aircraft always forces a minimum of 4369/1982 fuel. In the context of FSEconomy, when you "rent" an aircraft you have to assign fuel for the flight.

So let's say, I rent an aircraft with 2500 lbs of fuel on-board, but I don't wish to refuel the aircraft any further, it's a really short trip. The FSEconomy application (runs in Python), once you launch it will force the fuel load into the aircraft. It will temporarily reduce the onboard fuel to 2500 lbs and then after a few second delay will automatically return the FOB to 4369 pounds, through no interaction of any menus or systems. This is detected as in-flight refueling and the flight is failed.

I haven't done a SmartCars flight yet, but there is a setting within the client that if it detects an inflight refueling, it'll fail the flight. So I suspect this can be avoided by ensuring you don't start the client until any/all fuel is added onboard.

Sounds like the solution is to get a saved airframe that's basically on fumes, so that any subsequent flight I always need to add gas, versus attempt to remove (which based on the response in another thread, is not possible).

Thanks for the info. That's an interesting one for sure. I'll pass it on to the developers and the rest of the beta team and see if we can work out what's going on. The fixed fixel state in non-persistent mode is expected, but career may do the trick for you.

Thanks, Graeme. I setup a new airframe in career mode and confirmed the identical behavior. Walked immediately into the cockpit, powered up the aircraft and it forced in 4369.6 lbs / 1982 kg of fuel before I even began to evaluate refueling services. Would love to see one of the two states start at something like minimum usable fuel.

Hi,

So if I understand correctly. Even though hot start gives a bit of fuel to start with on very first air frame loading (about 1920 KG), after making short trips without refueling and keep loading the most recents saved State it will Keep this amount or will it always default it to 1920 kg?

thanks

Frits - From what I've been able to determine (limited testing), the Training mode will always dispatch ~ 1900 KG of fuel. Every single time. The initial load of the career mode airframe will do the same but because of the persistent airframe states (should you use the same one) once you go below that initial ~ 1900 KG it will remember where you left off.

So my plan is to build a "FSE friendly" airframe that's C&D with essentially fumes in the tank.
