Oliver
Hi everyone,I just wanted to ask who is planning on going to the Paris Airshow in 1.5 weeks. The show runs from Monday June 20th to Sunday June 26. The trade days are Monday June 20th until Friday June 24th. Public days are Saturday 25th, and Sunday 26th. I'll be at the show during one of the trade days (most likely Wednesday or Friday). Displays at the show include A380, 748i, 748F, Rafale, and many more.Hope to see you there! I'm quite often in Paris as some of my best friends live there, but don't think I can make it. Been to Le Bourget before, nice exhibition. Simmo W
Bet Oliver's having fun!Even more 'action' I hear! :Airbus Superjumbo A380 Grounded at Paris Air ShowThe Associated Press | June 20, 2011 | 06:30 AM EDTAirbus' star jet was grounded after clipping a wing on a taxiway structure, the latest in a string of embarrassing incidents for the European planemaker at the launch of the aviation industry's premier showcase. The A380 superjumbo suffered damage to its wing tip Sunday after the slow-speed collision with a building at the Le Bourget airport, where the air show is taking place. The aircraft had been scheduled for demonstration flights during the show but these have now been canceled, EADS spokesman Alexander Reinhardt said Monday. The Airbus A400M military transport plane also had to cancel a demonstration flight because of what the manufacturer described as a minor gearbox problem, although the aircraft will still make a fly-over during President Nicolas Sarkozy's visit to the air show on Monday, Reinhardt said. I saw that as well, luckily tomorrow another A380 is being ferried in and it will be flying I won't be at the show until Thursday! Tonight I've got a flying lesson at an airport near where the Paris Airshow is being held, and I'm going to try to see how close I can get to the show because the 748F is said to arrive exactly during the time of my flying lesson! I'm really hoping I'd be able to see the thing fly over before landing at least
