mizra108 Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 Hi, i usually alter different aircrafts and the only one that uses the exp flight model is IXEGand many times i forget to untick this before loading another aircraft only to find out on takeoff the aircraft acts wacky, which entails reloading the aircraft and lose all the stuff i had already done. Is there a way I can configure ixeg 737 to automatically have this option enabled so that it is disabled in mu general settings ? Quote

You can load the 737 up in Plane Maker.exe (it is in your main X-Plane folder) and then go to the tab "Standard" then click on "Author" then make a checkmark on "Always use experimental flight model". Then save the aircraft and from now on it will always run with this option enabled. We will add this in our next update, but for now you can do the modification yourself. Cheers, Jan Quote
Aviators Posted June 29, 2021 Report Posted June 29, 2021 Has the experimental flight model (automatic forcing) been enabled with the update or not yet? Quote

You can easily make the necessary change in the .acf file yourself, it is not encrypted or anything. Just open it in planemaker, go to "Standard" then "Author" then click the checkbox for "Always Use Experimental Flight Model" - save and exit. Cheers, Jan 2 Quote

Cheers, Jan So does this mean when we fly IXEG 737, we need to enable experimental model all the time? can we fly it without experimental model on too? what are the downsides? regards Quote
Litjan Posted July 15, 2021 Report Posted July 15, 2021 You can fly without the experimental flight model, but downsides is less accurate performance parameters and lacking of some features unique to the "experimental" flight model, like refined downwash calculations. If you are a layman just droning around for fun, chances are you won´t even notice the difference. Cheers, Jan Quote
