Rob Carson Posted August 9, 2020 Report Posted August 9, 2020 The sr 22 cuts out after long flight and taxying and then won't start whatever hot start technique is used. Quote
Coop Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 We are looking into the engine cutoff bug at near-idle power when taxiing, there seems to be something in the physics model that needs a bit more tuning. 1 Quote

Any update on the fix? My plane is stopping on the runway at low speeds and idle. Quote
Rob Carson Posted August 16, 2020 Author Report Posted August 16, 2020 I haven't had the cutting out when taxying for a while. I leave fuel pump on and lean the mixture significantly and keep rpm up. With regards hot start I can sometimes get it started but haven't quite figured out the exact procedure. Quote
memcbride Posted August 16, 2020 Report Posted August 16, 2020 This issue occurs for me when I use real weather data and the outside ground level air temp is above 25C. Today its 29C and very humid in Cincinnati and it stalled out 4 times trying to get to the runway to take off. Quote
Rob Carson Posted August 17, 2020 Author Report Posted August 17, 2020 Oh, I had forgotten to take note of outside temperature, so my problem is probably not solved. Quote
Rob Carson Posted August 17, 2020 Author Report Posted August 17, 2020 Oh, I had forgotten to take note of outside temperature, so my problem is probably not solved. Thinking a bit more about it hot humid weather will result in less air to mix with so if you apply a bit more throttle (more air) and lean more (less fuel) you will get a better air to fuel mixture and maybe it won't cut out. Rob Carson Posted August 22, 2020 Author Report Posted August 22, 2020 Still have a problem. Can get it started when hot but it will not continue to run whatever I do. Quote
snomhf Posted August 22, 2020 Report Posted August 22, 2020 I taxi this thing like I used to drive my old 1960 Chevy... 1500-1600rpm and just burn up the brakes. Scared to death to drop below that else it will stall! Quote
