doebro2010 Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 I have as a beginner a few questions: 1-saw on screen a message from x-aviation for an update. do you know where I can find the update? 2- approaching airport SGAS on runway 20 with ils ,I noticed the vor/ils in green but it took not the glidescoop although I had the right level 2000 ft and the course was also set and both cmd A and B and app. what reason could be there that it didnot take it? 3-I saw from one engine the oil was in low pressure and also in quantity. can I do anything about it and where? 4-last question , if the fmc has been filled in and in the LEGS there are a few waypoints with limits of heights. the autopilot installed doesnot follow the diverse heights. Is that normal in this plane? Doeke Quote

Go to x-aviation.com -> my account->login->within your orders list you have the download links. It will install latest version available 12 minutes ago, doebro2010 said: 2- approaching airport SGAS on runway 20 with ils ,I noticed the vor/ils in green but it took not the glidescoop although I had the right level 2000 ft and the course was also set and both cmd A and B and app. what reason could be there that it didnot take it? 2000ft but at what distance? maybe you were too close to the airport and the glideslope below you already. You must intercept from below if you can share a screen capture or video we can be sure what is going on 12 minutes ago, doebro2010 said: 3-I saw from one engine the oil was in low pressure and also in quantity. can I do anything about it and where? known bug, nothing to worry 12 minutes ago, doebro2010 said: 4-last question , if the fmc has been filled in and in the LEGS there are a few waypoints with limits of heights. the autopilot installed doesnot follow the diverse heights. Is that normal in this plane? What you mean by, "there are a a few?". Not all the waypoints have populated speeding/height on the legs page? This is a good indication you did not fill up all required performance data on the corresponding pages. note: the FMC will compute/populate speeding/height predictions automatically to all waypoints in the flight plan once all required performance data is entered properly for it to calculate a valid vertical profile. The ones having speed and/or alt restrictions are due to being hardcoded on the SID/STAR procedures you selected on the DEP/ARR. hope this helps 1 Quote
Litjan Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Hi Doeke, 1.) Not sure - if you just got this aircraft, you should already have the latest version. 2.) I don´t have enough information on what you did (or more importantly what you didn´t do!). Are you sure the GS was armed (APP mode)? 3.) Oil pressure and quantity have no real effect in X-Plane - but I haven´t seen them being low, I think. So maybe you can include a screenshot of what you see so I can tell you if it is normal or not? 4.) Yes, unfortunately our VNAV code still has some problems with altitude restrictions during the descent. We are working on fixing that - for now use the FL CHG or V/S mode to descend te aircraft in time to make the restrictions. Cheers, Jan Edited April 24, 2020 by Litjan Quote
doebro2010 Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 thanks both for the info. 1-I thought there was an update but now I understand that I have to download the full version. so I did. 2-I flew over airport rw 2 and make a return to rw 20 so I was to close after make a return to rw 20 3-I understand it is a bug, no problem . 4-note: the FMC will compute/populate speeding/height predictions automatically to all waypoints in the flight plan once all required performance data is entered properly for it to calculate a valid vertical profile. The ones having speed and/or alt restrictions are due to being hardcoded on the SID/STAR procedures you selected on the DEP/ARR. you see a pic that the next vnav should be fl201 but it didnot take it. next one is when I started with 30000 ft in altitude , the fmc says 14793 but it went on to 30000. is this the bug or is it me? Sorry i do not understand what the pictures shows? what is the problem here? What you mean it did not take it? 1 hour ago, doebro2010 said: next one is when I started with 30000 ft in altitude , the fmc says 14793 but it went on to 30000. is this the bug or is it me? In the second picture the aircraft is refusing to descent because the MCP ALT was not configured to a lower altitude by the time the aircraft had to start descending. MCP ALT acts like a fence, for climbing and for descending. If you are flying FL300 and you want the aircraft to start descending at TOD, the MCP ALT must be configured to a lower altitude before reaching TOD or the FMC will alert RESET MCP ALT as on your picture and the aircraft will continue FL300 because it can not violate MCP ALT note: MCP ALT is a safety fence, so the aircraft does not move automatically no matter what VNAV has pre-configured. On real life an aircraft changing altitude up or down inadvertedly is a ticket to an accident due to traffic crossing above and/or below. 1 Quote
doebro2010 Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 I see I will do the next flight in that order. the first pic you asked has the same question in it. I meant with didnot take it that the height wasnot accepted but this question is not relevant anymore, now that the system works for decending and also climbing as well. thanks for the lessons. 1 Quote
Litjan Posted April 26, 2020 Report Posted April 26, 2020 You may also want to look at the tutorials I have done for this aircraft - they are included with your installation (look in the folder Documentation). They are both in written format and include a link to youtube tutorials as well. Cheers, Jan Quote
