lanmancz Posted February 7, 2020 Report Posted February 7, 2020 Hello, I recently purchased SMP4 to use in VR. It works pretty well but I noticed an issue when passing though clouds in VR - the clouds sometimes pass through the cockpit and directly into one or both of my eyes which is quite unpleasant. It's not constant but it happens often enough to be unpleasant while passing though clouds. Quote
JohnMAXX Posted February 7, 2020 Report Posted February 7, 2020 Yes this is a known issue, @sundog was this addressed in the update we are working on? Quote

Yes, I believe so, but beta testing will tell us for sure. In the meantime, try disabling cloud shadows in the SMP config screen, and turning cloud/terrain blending to 0 - that may clear up the issue (as well as improve performance) Edited February 7, 2020 by sundog Quote

Performance is fine. Unfortunately the issue persists. Fingers crossed for the fix in the update. Thanks. Quote
lanmancz Posted May 24, 2020 Author Report Posted May 24, 2020 (edited) Hello, I'd like to report please that this is still happening (clouds in cockpit in VR) in SMP v4.9.3 in XP11.50b9 Vulkan. Tested in the TBM900 v1.1.12 Also it might be related that I see some cloud textures weirdly rotating with my view. Thanks. Edited May 24, 2020 by lanmancz Quote
sundog Posted May 24, 2020 Report Posted May 24, 2020 We've never been able to reproduce this on our end, but there are some more VR changes queued up for 4.9.4 that I'm hoping will address whatever is going on. Quote
DJSean00 Posted June 5, 2020 Report Posted June 5, 2020 Hi @sundog, A number of VR users including myself also have the same problem with clouds coming through the cockpit as you fly through clouds. I've been able to handle it but 2 of my friends have dropped the software while they wait for a fix, fingers crossed this can be sorted. Cheers, DJ 1 Quote
