How to use CTOT

The only thing I'm still finding tricky is using the CTOT, so I'd like to make sure I'm understanding the instructions. To limit torque to 70% I have to...

1. Set CTOT knob to 70%.

2. Advance throttles to torque 50% - 55%.

3. Set CTOT switches to ARMED.

Have I got it or am I missing something?

Reverse 2 and 3.

CTOT will kick in at 64° Power Lever angle.  This can be seen in the 2d pop up for the throttle quadrant.

Keep in mind the ctot is only capable of upscaling fuel flow to whatever is set. If your power lever position is commanding 71% or more torque, you’ll get whatever you’re asking for. Its not an auto throttle or limiter in any form.

I get that it's not an autothrottle. It's very handy, though...it's great not to have to be fiddling with the throttle on taking off. I can use all the help I can get.
