Greaser Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 I have been using Synthetic Vision regularly. Just now I tried a flight from Bankstown Sydney, ICAO Code: YSBK. Synthetic Vision is not working. Blue Sky, Blue "Ground" (instead of Green). Any ideas? Quote
Goran_M Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Do you have custom scenery for Bankstown? Quote
Goran_M Posted December 9, 2018 Report Posted December 9, 2018 (edited) Yeah, something to do with how the synthetic vision reads terrain. It can only read default scenery. I'll link this to @skiselkov and see if he has anything to say about implementing it...if it's even possible to do so. Edited December 9, 2018 by Goran_M Quote
Greaser Posted December 9, 2018 Author Report Posted December 9, 2018 I tried another airport (YRED) in Australia and it has the same issue. SYN VIS -> SYN TERR, it displays blue water instead of green. I did generate Ortho4xp, but I did this also in US and in US it works. It is not working at those Australian airports. Quote
skiselkov Posted December 9, 2018 Report Posted December 9, 2018 @Greaser Please make sure you have stock X-Plane scenery, or hd-mesh-scenery installed underneath any ortho tiles generated via Ortho4XP. Ortho4XP doesn't include a DEM (Digital Elevation Map) segment in the generated DSFs, which is what the synthetic vision needs to construct its terrain view (and also the GPWS and WXR read this to determine the terrain shape). Mateyhv Posted December 13, 2018 Report Posted December 13, 2018 If the HD mesh solves the issue thats great, there is HD mesh and UHD mesh for certain parts of Europe and the World available from Alpilotx. Quote

I do have zzz_hd_global_scenery4 base mesh at the lowest layer, and have the relevant dsf tiles, so not sure why it aint working. Quote
