Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 Hello, I've been flying the TBM 900 since launch and loving it, however today I can't seem to keep the engine running. Not long after starting (usually as I start the taxi) the engine just shuts down. I have also tried just leaving the plane running without the taxi and the same thing happens. I'm using the latest update. Any help would be most welcome, thanks. Quote
Goran_M Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 (edited) Generator running? If it is visually on (indicated on the overhead and the MFD), can you check the maintenance manager to see if it's damaged? Edited November 10, 2018 by Goran_M Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Hi, just tried again, generator was running and no damage shown within the maintenance manager. Still after 1-2 mins engine shuts down. I'm using the latest update 1.1 and the steam version of XP11. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Log file as requested, thanks Log.txt Quote
Goran_M Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 (edited) Can you try going into Output/TBM900/state and delete the ".airframe" file there. Then reload. You'll lose your airframe, but it will likely fix the problem. This is down to how Windows timestamps its files. Edited November 10, 2018 by Goran_M Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Okay tried that, made a new airframe but again after two mins the plane shuts down. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 I'm going to try completely removing this aircraft from my machine and reinstalling. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Nope same problem, although I must say the uninstaller does a poor job of removing everything. I could still find files/folders relating to the TBM after the uninstall. Not sure what to do now ... Quote
Cameron Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 Nope same problem, although I must say the uninstaller does a poor job of removing everything. I could still find files/folders relating to the TBM after the uninstall. Not sure what to do now ... It's supposed to do that. If you have installed liveries, or have certain after install files they will remain intact. ALL files that are a part of the original install will be removed. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Thanks for clearing that up. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 10, 2018 Author Report Posted November 10, 2018 Would reinstalling XP11 help with this issue? I can't think of anything else I can try. Quote
Goran_M Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 1 more thing you can try before going to drastic measures. Check Circuit breakers, and make sure they're all in. If that doesn't work, exit X-Plane, remove all plug ins not tied to the TBM, then try again. Leave Gizmo in there as well. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 11, 2018 Author Report Posted November 11, 2018 Hello, I have found the fault, my engines are dying when the right fuel tank is selected. I hadn't noticed this before as I prefer to start from the left fuel tank but I've found the right isn't supplying fuel and when the auto select changes tanks the engine dies. I've checked the circuit breakers and all are in, as for plug ins I'm not sure what is related to the TBM. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 11, 2018 Author Report Posted November 11, 2018 Hi, still trying to find out why the right fuel tank isn't available. Thanks. Quote
Goran_M Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 I've brought this to toto's attention. Have you had a good look at all areas of the maintenance manager. He said you may have a blocked fuel line. Please check all areas of the maintenance manager and make sure they all say "As New". Quote
Wacaday Posted November 11, 2018 Author Report Posted November 11, 2018 I have reinstalled so I doubt it's a maintenance issue but I will check. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 11, 2018 Author Report Posted November 11, 2018 Okay, done complete replace on all engine parts everything says new but I still have the issue. The plane won't start on right fuel tank and when I select it when the engine is running the engine dies. I appreciate any help you can provide, thanks. Quote
Goran_M Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 Do you have anything assigned in some weird way to fuel cutoff in any kind of scripting add on or through the hardware set up screen. It's a little tricky to figure this out, because you are, literally, the only person experiencing this. This leads me to believe it's something connected to your hardware or your set up. Quote
Wacaday Posted November 12, 2018 Author Report Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) ** Problem Solved ** Looking at my hardware setup I discovered that I had a switch allocated to each fuel tank cut off switch, both of these were set to off. I quickly unmapped these switches and made a separate profile for the TBM, the plane is now running as expected, hurrah! Strange though how these switches only affected the right fuel tank and not the left, but all is well now. I would just like to thank everyone who has been involved with the development of this plane as it is truly fantastic, it is the reason I wanted to purchase XP11. Thank you, I look forward to whatever the next project is. Edited November 12, 2018 by Wacaday Quote
Goran_M Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 Excellent. Glad to see you have it sorted. Enjoy. Quote
