UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 So me and another guy from a VA are working on flying together on multiplayer, mainly testing out XP multiplayer. Our IPs are not in the same subnets. Is it possible to change one of ours so we can fly together?
Cameron Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Multiplayer does not require you to be in the same network (at least not last time I tried).Simply enter in their IP address (web IP, not router IP), and ensure the port selected is open. X-Plane will alert you when a connection has been created between the two.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 Ok, so we looked into it a little more and our the IPs shown in the multiplayer screen weren't in the same subnet. Our actual IPs were. Our next problem was that I couldn't figure out how to access my router setup page. Does anyone know how to do so on a Mac?
Ben Russell Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 See if this helps:http://portforward.com/Generally you pickup your router and see if it has an IP address written on it.It might be: 10.0.0.1It may also be: 192.168.1.1There are several other very common standard numbers.Once you find the IP, enter it in your web browser.Your router doesn't care that you're on a Mac, almost all of them just need a web browser to tweak stuff.Finding the admin username and password may be a little harder. (sometimes also on box, sometimes need to call Internet Provider/Telco)
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks, I'll look into that.
