gpb500 Posted May 27, 2016 Report Posted May 27, 2016 Was getting ready to taxi, had everything set up and was testing flight controls. Deployed the speed brakes full (to test) and A/T engaged at N1 while still parked. From that point on, I could not arm the A/T without it going to N1. So had to line up for departure and flip the switch and it went full, pressed TO/GA and was off. I have my speed brake mapped to the standard XP speed brake via a dial on my throttle control. Let me know if I can provide more info. Thx. Quote

We have seen some mapping issues with X-Plane, where more than one function was assigned to one button or keypress. For example, some people had B assigned to both "brakes" and "beacon toggle". Do you possibly have a conflict with speedbrake and TOGA? To test, maybe try to raise the speedbrake for testing with the mouse instead of the throttle control? Thanks! gpb500 Posted May 27, 2016 Author Report Posted May 27, 2016 Thanks Jan...I tested again after remapping my controls to the same settings (probably didn't do anything) and was able to recreate but had nothing to do with the speed brakes this time. Then I swapped the old XPUIPC out for the new and was not able to recreate. Will continue with this setup and report back if I'm able to recreate. Excellent support from you guys even for the odd/goofy reports...like mine. 1 Quote
garywin Posted July 6, 2016 Report Posted July 6, 2016 Hi, I have a similar issue when arming the Autothrottle - once armed, the throttles spool up to take off power. However, I don't use mapped buttons to arm. I would say that this happens around 50% of the time for me. To be on the safe side, I wait until lined up on the runway before arming the autothrottles. This is not a 737NG neither a modern 777. If you engage any mode on the ground and then you flip A/T to arm it will put thrust immediately! Quote

Thanks for your reply - I don't think I'm doing any of those (I didn't think you could engage until after takeoff), but I'll try again tonight and make sure that nothing is engaged inadvertently . Cheers! Quote

Cheers! due to the number of things that may engage thrust on the ground in the 737Classic accidentally, procedures for this bird establish the pilot must not engage A/T until entering the runway. Modern birds have a protection, but not the classic. Double check! Quote
