  1. Hi, Jim, Firstly, these forums are for X-Aviation customers of the CRJ. From what I can tell you did not purchase from our website with regards to this aircraft. That said, I'll assist in this instance: The issue is that you are utilizing a version of the CRJ purchased from a venue other than X-Aviation, and which is a different plug-in in some areas to do with sound. The X-Aviation version works around this. What is happening is your CRJ is conflicting with Gizmo with regards to OpenAL sound. The screeching is then experienced from this clashing while the plug-ins fight for sound slots. Considering your loyalty to X-Aviation in the past please contact me using the following form: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=68 I'll be willing to work something out for you regarding this matter.
  2. Hi, Jim, The only time I am aware of this happening is with the presence of other plugins fighting one another. Can you please upload the log.txt file located in your main X-Plane directory?
  3. This is an informative topic and not a debate, Marc. Having known the complexities of where Gizmo is headed, the fact that it is NOT to be utilized just for aircraft (yep, not aircraft-specific!), etc is precisely why it's been done the way it has. Making accusations with regards to a subject you know little info about is not helping any of us. I don't watch TV. Ben R doesn't either. There are many better things to be doing with our time, evidently and rightly so that you have no clue! As for Linux? It hasn't been released simply for the fact that Linux is not a viable platform. We've tried it in the past and the ROI is simply not there. Perhaps in time it will change, but that time is not "now."
  4. Can't be done due to the animations/manip types being harcoded into the obj's, so a plug-in is not really an option here. That said, no, we don't have plans to alter this.
  5. This looks like you need either a graphics card update or your graphics card is incompatible with the CRJ. This is precisely why we have the CRJ Test available here: http://www.x-aviatio...og/crj_test.php (Unless you didn't purchase from X-Aviation.com...I can't find a match for your e-mail address in our customer database).
  6. Hi, there, Unfortunately you would need to restart sim. Plug-Ins are initialized during the startup phase of X-Plane.
  7. Gizmo runs global. There are reasons for this, primarily in that the functions we plan and some that have been implemented are not possible without the plug-in being Global. In three years, there are "only" two known conflicts: 1. SASL interferes with Gizmo (or vice versa depending how you choose to look at it) 2. SOME people have issues with DreamEngine, though this is rather sporadic and most people are not affected. The issues are actually ALL related to sound. What happens here is SASL, Gizmo, and DreamEngine (as well as X-Plane for that matter) are all competing for sound slots within X-Plane's environment. As such, a clash will sometimes occur depending on the order in which a product using a specific plug-in was opened. Without getting too technical, I'll just say that had the fix been an easy one amongst developers it would have been developed and released already. There is some impending, rather large news we have coming out soon, but I cannot comment on this right at this moment. As for "priority," Gizmo simply runs all the time, but does NOT interact with an aircraft if the aircraft does not have the required files necessary to tell Gizmo it has a "green light" to operate. So, no, it does not take priority over all/other plug-ins. When experiencing this conflict, people have done one of two things that I have seen: 1. Create TWO X-plane installs. One will be Gizmo only, the other will be SASL only. 2. Go to your resources/plugins folder and move the gizmo.plugin folder to your desktop or anywhere of your choosing while you operate a SASL aircraft, then return Gizmo after your session. Thus far, only the latest Carenado aircraft (Seneca) utilizes SASL. Knowing Dan however (developer for Carenado) he will want to continue to innovate their products (and rightly so) and will likely carry the SASL tradition into future aircraft. Time will tell on this one! Lastly, with your Cessna issue, this should not be happening nor have I ever heard of it. You may want to look into updating your video drivers to the latest version if this is happening. Gizmo is a scripting language API, not a graphics adjuster!
  8. Not yet, Nicola. I apologize. Rest assured, it's coming. Dealing with an emergency personal matter at the moment. Thank you for your patience!
  9. Of course it's allowed! Thanks for bringing something to the community to enjoy!
  10. Thanks, Nicola! I'll get back to you shortly.
  11. Hey, Edwin, Here you go...can do both PayPal or bank payments: http://secure.simmarket.com/carenado-pa-34-200t-seneca-ii-x-plane.phtml Plane looks great...I may pick it up myself!
  12. Hey, Nicola, Can you please PM me with the serial number you are entering so I may help you troubleshoot this? Thanks!
  13. Thanks, we'll report back with results from this end.
  14. We need more info on this and more reports. Two reports in a sea of many C400 users is not solid enough to fix this when we can't duplicate the effects seen ourselves at this time.
  15. Hi, Hugh, Have you read the included manuals to understand as much as you can, as well as see all of the instruments included in this aircraft? The manual covers every instrument and its location (useful for finding things such as whether an OBS is present of not). The checklists define when cowl flaps should be open or closed. These are included in the Documentation folder within the DC-3 aircraft folder.
  16. No texture is going to help with any puffs of grass. These would need to be created as .lin files or something similar, and there is no easy way to do this on a mass scale. In short, they are billboarded objects and not flat 2D textures.
  17. The primary issue with RPX is it is Windows only, and as far as we have been aware, the developer has somewhat lost interest in the X-Plane market for the time being.
  18. It's really too early to tell where we'd go with the B variant. It will definitely not be released at the same time as the A variant.
  19. Not dumb when you're learning and having fun! Enjoy it and welcome to X-Pilot!
