JGregory, The first take off was fine, no annunciator. Then, without reloading the aircraft, I landed the aircraft taxied into position and took off again—then "too low, gear." Again, without restarting or reloading, I landed and taxied into position and took off (linked video)—"too low, gear!" Not a big deal, but a little disconcerting. Brad

Note: Start after the about the 4:00 mark in https://youtu.be/GBJUExyo85g I can't figure out why I got this error on the last 2 of 3 takeoff attempts from the same time, airport, and runway. What am I missing? Thanks, Brad

Right Goran_M, they asked for comprehensive! Comprehensive costs money.

Heinz92, can you post a video or audio file with this sound. I don't hear it on my landings.

Caveat: I am not an authority on the topic but have explored it reading what I can. From this document: https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D7938372_93809022_881009, I quote: "During climb, TRQ will drop slightly so you need to adjust the P/L to keep 90% until the ITT reaches 830ºC. Then you keep830ºC until on level where you can adjust the ITT up to approx850ºC according to what the TRQ-table states and where itshould stay during the rest of the cruise. Depending of OAT theITT/TRQ will move up or down so you need to keep an eye on itand adjust it accordingly." That does not directly answer you question, and I don't know the veracity of that document. And 'yes,' I have read that you do not touch TRQ settings after disengaging the CTOT, but I find the drop in TRQ detrimental to any meaningful climb rate so I increase TRQ anyway. To what degree? I let temperature be my guide and stay just below the yellow. When at cruise, I power back to the recommended 60-70% TRQ. I find the setting of the condition levels even more confusing, especially during climb, but at cruise I have been reducing PROP to 1260, though I've read numbers up to 1330. Brad

Ha, this is why I use Auto-start. I'd rather fly than fiddle with starting the engines. Not very realistic, I know. Maybe I'll try a manual start and see what happens.

I just start working with Arduino and built a controller that I've been able to map switches to in various aircraft (some default X-Plane and Carenado) but haven't gotten it to work with the Saab 340. For example, I would like to turn off the Taxi light switch after take off without having to look up. While I was able to map the switch to the default taxi light, it has no affect in the 340. I'm new to this and I'm sure there are discussions on it, I just need to be pointed. Maybe it's not possible without writing a plugin, but I have no idea where to start. Advice? Resources? Thanks. Brad

Turn off HDR as well. You'll see a big gain in FPS, just no landing lights.

For what it's worth, in checking even long flights by Silver Airways on FlightAware, the highest is usually FL230

kneighbour, Let us know when you have your document finished. I'm confused by all the posts going back and forth. Hopefully you're tracking with all these. I've never done a manual start, but would like to try once you have the "official" version done. Brad

AFAIK, you have to set this as a custom view. Did you try using the period-key to go forward, just until the nose falls out of view, and then use the CTRL-numberpadkey to create a custom view? That's what I did and it works fine, just not very "X-Planey" Brad

The Garmin 530 has been a great addition to the 340A! With the amount of time I've been spending flying full out flight plans, I wrote a little web app to make getting waypoints from my favorite planners, FlightAware and RouteFinder (for non-US plans) into the system. Try it out and let me know what you think. Here's a link to the original post on X-Plane.org

PilotEdge is great, but not for the faint of heart. It's the real deal. I remember when I first starting flying real airplanes, talking to ATC was the scarier than landings. But you get used to it. I listen to LiveATC.net for fun just to keep up on the lingo.

Don't ya just hate it when simulators act like real airplanes? Just set a view (CTRL-Numberpadkey) for a slightly zoomed out view of the yoke.

Cameron, Thanks for replying and sorry this is happening in a thread about props windmilling (mine don't). Honestly, I'm a bit like you, I say what I think. However, as my wife has pointed out to me thousands of times over the past 37 years: it's not what I say it how I say it. She reports that I'm am getting nicer, which is cheaper than marriage counseling. For my day job I own what is primarily a web development/application company and deal with users all day long. Some drive us crazy, some we love. So, I understand the temptation to be blunt. But ultimately they are customer and help me pay the rent. BTW, I will say it again, I think you have a great airplane here and I love to fly it. And looking forward to the update with the Garmin, I just hope my old Mac will be able to keep up with it. Best, Brad

Cameron, why do you have be so mean? Lighten up. Be nice. You need to take a dose of your own medicine: "You don't have to take criticism personally, but you do have to take it seriously."

This forum has gone eerily quiet. Just wondering were we are in the 340A beta. Clues? Thanks.

Are you pressing in the right spot. Finding the "sweet spot" that opens the door is tricky. Screen shot? Video?

Hey, I had to hunt for it myself! I think of consoles as horizontal, maybe
