  1. that's great news Indi, if it's as good as the 104 we're in for a treat.
  2. This one got a bit of a reaction at the .org. Posted here to give others more ideas of how to use the night lighting of xp, and to again say thankyou to Javier for his LESA scenery. But alas now, it's destroyed...... Once X-aviation release more miltary aircraft (F16 lovechild of Tom and Javier anyone?), I'd use them in such a vid! Simon
  3. Another unique touch Goran, keep it please. More battered and lived in the better. The Falcon video showed a new level of 3d depth to the gauges, you're gonna make me want to show off this new artistry
  4. !!!! Flaky paint!!! your buddy's done an amazing job! Only improvement might be to apply same technique to the levers, they sort of look too pristine compared to the nicely worn background. Is that the new trick you were referring to? Shockingly good
  5. Hey Dave, loved your blog, good to know the outage is temporary. Looks like you'll have lots of reviews / opinions to catch up on!
  6. No, ur the shit Reuben, well done with your little Starlet, that looked like a tough crossing! Good to see a fellow Victorian in the forums. Looking nice n green n wet in warragul
  7. yes, thanks Jim, great article! Next time my flight is cancelled I'll have another reason to mention to fellow SLF
  8. Just stunning Eric, the contrast of the distant mountains and the lights below. I've got a thousand views of my 2 falco videos, I think there'll be many more for your scenery when I get my mits on it. The javelin and this at night will go very nicely!
  9. Thanks! I hadn't watched em till you posts this, yes RSI here we come, looks like very well modelled systems and lots of gauges!
  10. no probs herb, you'll enjoy that setup for a good few yrs ( I hope so, or else I'm in trouble too!) Hope u try windoze 7, I'm in vistaland and looking fwd to next yr when I may try 7 (uninstalling everythings a pain so I'll do it once a yr
  11. Nice pics Migou, the Javvy makes anywhere look cool, but (I think) Damman's Corsica pack looks amazing. Here's an unusual thing- a link to the .org, where I'd posted a video of the same scenery, but I flew a bit lower! http://tiny.cc/iq3g3 Your pics have reminded me I need to do some more high speed/altitude exploring, thanks!
  12. Great Nik, I loved the Parma update! Can u recommend any sceneries with a good sprinkling of industrial & medium rise buildings/ towers, for a new idea I'm working on for a video? 'Bleak', scary feel I'm going for. Unusual request I know! I'm NOT saying italy's bleak of course. Xplanes weather can take care of that! A good variety of factories & towers will do nicely.
  13. hi Herbumus, sounds pretty capable. I have a Windoze vista 64 'handicapped' Core i7 with 6gig ram and gtx 275 1 gig graphics. I run max all settings most of the time, but in the more detailed sceneries, I might have to reduce ai traffic and objects, but only a little. My latest xbone video was done @ full settings, including treehugger setting if u can upgrade your graphics card that would be good. Check out Toms hardware benchmark graphs of vid card performance. The 4850 is about 35% slower, but maybe your slick mac os will make up for things! Maybe another mac owner can confirm satisfaction. I easily get 30-60fps, I'm happy. For xp10 I may upgrade to windoze 7 and a beefier graphics card. I think that's the advantage of pcs, being able to swap cards easily. Have fun shopping, wow 27 incher..
  14. Finally seen these shots on a PC screen, they look great, especially the last one low on the wing showing off the wing rivets. I'm guessing the landing gear is early stages, I'm a sucker for incredibly detailed landing gear like the falco and Mu-2, oh and the Seamax.

    X-Rated Falco

Sounds good Tom, the ultimate combo now (a good looker, with brains!) This is the first time I have personally THANKED you for your dedication and upping the bar. I did not spend the time on the video lightly, I really do hope it makes people stop and think 'this is not just another addon'. Can't wait to try the new textures either!

    X-Rated Falco

This feature has been discussed and planned! that's a great idea. Having direct consequences of actions/inactions always adds to the immersion! I've started flying it 'seriously' now, you really get an added feel of 'i'm almost really flying and navigating', it's great!

    X-Rated Falco

thanks nik! Yes, I worked that out AFTER, but if I wanted to be totally realistic, I'd need a hearse to await my return, oh and Tom would need to model a few barfbags

    X-Rated Falco

Thanks Max. Oh no, now with the new textures, I have to refilm and edit again?! ;D

    X-Rated Falco

This is a much more intense film/edit than the first hurried attempt, since I had 7hrs to kill yesterday! No crevice or compartment was left unexplored in this one, hence the name - all the bits meant to be unseen have been 'exposed' Hehe. This is probably the first XPlane (indeed ANY sim plane) where you can film the entire vid around the interior of the aircraft itself, without too much regard for scenery (although Phillip Island has come up lovely and green in this version). And to think the interior textures are to be improved, and with a pilot too ! Warning - Do not fly this plane regularly in the manner shown, I broke quite a few bits in doing so....I have sent an urgent warranty claim to Tom, 'I didn't speed or pull high G's officer' Thanks to Javier for inspiring me to learn the damned focus trick in Sony Vegas, that is a pain to get right, so he's a genius!

    Project 3

It won't be done for eight more months. hehe, after development of the Goranzmo plugin!:
  21. I can't double vote, but imagine an F16, exterior by Javier, systems and dials/displays by Tom, with Gizmo producing the vortices and sound barrier effects....eeeww, I need to shower now...
  22. In addition to goran and javieranton's ones, 727, 748, DC10.
  23. Hi lusitano, I'm no expert, but I've got a core i7 920 with gtx 275 and it hums along. I've never bothered with volumetric fog, it seems to hit the fps. How do u survive with no antialiasing? Try 4 or 8. Keep other traffic low at first, that can slow things down. Your CPU might be light on, not sure, maybe others with similar CPUs can chime in. Your graphics card is better than mine. Did you check out the link? I'd try lower detail settings and work up slowly, restart xplane as u are happy. Kaphias is right, try 20 mile visIbility or so. I hear windows 7 is more efficient if u are using xp or vista (I'm stuck with vista for now, it's fine performance wise

    Falco over LESA

Hi, just a quick first flight & edit over Javier's LESA. Apologies to Tom for breaking the landing gear on this very first landing! Watch out for the close up of the instruments - the detail is incredible. The song, "This moment" by Nic Chagall, sums up my emotions in the buildup to the release of this little beauty. Best $15 I ever spent. Yes, this was a very quick film & edit, not to my normal stds, but it spreads the word real quick. Simon
  25. Hi Lusitano, try this useful link http://wiki.x-plane.com/Setting_Up_X-Plane_for_Best_Performance if you start tweaking settings too much at once, it can induce the 'fog of war', so try small adjustments, then relaunch. You should NOT compress VRAM, it doesn't seem to save resources bu makes things look worse. Good luck, you'll be fine!
