  1. Ah, but the best scenery DOES have animations, one day I want to learn that as well. Agree though, it must be much easier than fitting in each component perfectly into a confined space. Not to mention land based objects not having aerodynamic/planemaker variables to consider! A single HSI would be more intricate than most scenery objects, maybe excluding Cork EICK's monster terminal.. So yeah, u should be able to whip up A FEW sceneries inbetween peaks, then scatter them with your planes as objects. A challenging but popular strip would be CONNELLAN, Uluru(aka Ayers Rock), Chip and I were starting on that before XPFR invited us to do their (now we know!) fairly big LFPN project. Sheesh, 50 buildings!! Get Eric to do coverage of central Australia and there u have it, an amazing, world beating scenery package, Oprah will have everyone wanting to fly over it ;D
  2. G, Good to see the DC3 come to life. I'm gonna be naughty and say that although I voted for the 3, we'd love you to put yours and Theo's skills to a scenery! See if you can beat Javier's LESA ;D
  3. Posted to the .org today, here. Here's 2 pics I sent to Chip to include in the blog's Friday News section, shows off how it fits nicely with Realscenery Enhanced: The scenery itself is 'OK', nothing groundbreaking, but it's great to have some more detailed coverage of the area.
  4. Ha, yeah, we should get it all, 100mls of Reno quality scenery, globally. Each update will take a year to download and cause the lights to dim, even worse when we load it up to our Core i12s! Yep, will prefer a carefully planned and tested release, won't uninstall 9 until we know 10 works well. But d be happy with 50miles if I get intelligent AI dinosaurs
  5. Do we need 100 miles visibility? Better ortho views up close versus broader vis? I personally find the current visibility ok, if we could have better global DSFs. At least more news is trickling out.. Sounds like a big job still to go. Place your bets on release date! 25 June (2011! .. Non-beta) my guess. http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/2011/01/100-mile-visibility.html
  6. Looks great Alfredo, u seem to work quick!
  7. Cameron, not many customers have butted in to support your position. I DO, I think the pricing is very reasonable and same with re-downloads. I myself am yet to do my monthly backup and a $5 fee would be fine to me and a small economic signal to myself to be more diligent. How people can compare a 25mb plane file to a scenery file 100 times larger, I don't know. Tom K- your story almost made me cry. Very open of you to mention such a strong personal story.
  8. ;) Now We're onto something! Austin's mentioned AI traffic, but not what species
  9. Great one Rush. All I ask is...WHY, oh why? It can't take off. It can't eat anything. But if u could replace the deer with this , it would look interesting
  10. My most satisfying texturing effort yet. Hopefully you don't need to use it in 2011. 30 mins to 2011 here, HNY to All!
  11. Good reply Eric. And from a customer- Rush, you cant assume everyone has been waiting TOO long. It'll come out when ready, then when it does, 'people' will be asking about the next big thing. Enjoy what you have (Mentor has great night lighting) or are about to have (cough, SAAB, cough)! What a fun few threads the last few days. Christmas long gone..
  12. Wow, Wow, that first pump pic looked almost real on my iPhone!
  13. X-Aviation's storage shed complete. Just the VERY fiddly touches happening now. Jeeze that last 5% takes the longest, if things aren't to look comical.
  14. The Javelin lets me cover more of Reno quicker! Just what are these farms? or crop circles?!

    Weird camera

Easy Maxime, looks like you have the /View/Toggle Cinema Verite option ticked, that induces a random wobble to the xplane camera. I love it, so leave it on, in fact since my last reset I forgot to reactivate, so my revisiting this has helped me too!
  16. Sorry, KMMH scenery will still be a few more days coming, sidetracked by this newly commissioned project. Under the pump, the client is very impatient! This is where I got my first X-Pilot Avatar idea from.
  17. Same here G, ugh, too much pudding. No, I am going on a diet- only mince pies, christmas cake, shortbread and ham for the next week... Freaking good weather today, 26c and overcast/mild. Sounds like you had a good one too, nice
  18. Classic Indi, can't believe the little Ronnie is still going so strong. They were a good team
  19. Yep, my first quickie, but then again these quick ones have a habit of being my better videos - just goin with the flow. Remember, it's more beautiful on a 24inch screen, in-sim.
  20. Yeah Pete, same to you. That's the problem with Christmas, away from the computer too much!
  21. Yep, it's dawned on us, it's already Christmas Eve in Australia in 5 minutes time! So here is a huge gift giving guide that Chip prepared, of course I added a few files of my own. And NO, it's not an Airbus only recommendation, scroll down further.... So yeah, Merry Christmas and thanks for all the contacts, support and fun times in X-Pilot and elsewhere. Especially to our developers who give us the products we love. Simon and Chip ;D ??? : :'( (sums up my year!)
  22. Yessir, real weather, adds another layer of 'being there'.
  23. Pretty cold and overcast over Reno today! Apologies if your are particularly religious, I think I've found the new Holy Trinity - The Rex, The Mentor and the Reno ;D Darned traffic on the way home!

    Reno

I'm only guessing, but when I was fiddling with the throttle, I think it caused delays at one point (stopped all progress for 4 mins). WHEN I download the next release, I'll definitely leave it at max and leave it to do its job for how many hrs it takes- a few hrs away from the interweb is good for the soul. But I've always got 3G mobile.. About to check out Reno-Stead

    Reno

Cameron, as I've said, it's only my opinion about the night textures, just not being as crisp as i expected. But yes, these would still be the best night textured orthophotos I've seen. Ha, GT5 does have great night lighting, but it's not a fair comparison. Rise of Flight is a fairer comparo, Check out THIS - http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=ITcWgoxZDrQ Regardless of this point, again congrats to all for a stunning scenery package, the day colours, textures and terrain are fantastic, as I say in my review below. As I told Cameron, screenshots or videos don't really do it justice, the crispness in sim is really something. My download only took me 2 hrs and worked first time, no hiccups. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/12/22/x-aviation-reno-scenery-released-reviewed (plenty of screenshots, I got carried away with the beauty!)
