  1. Thanks Arnaud. many traps for the innocent.
  2. Ah, fixed the prob, see below. So far so good, 2.58 working fine, though after all this, now my shift-mmb translation isn't working!
  3. And I thought I'd replied to my other topic re. Problems exporting. It was all my fault- first I had the car park 180 miles from origin- no wonder I couldn't see it! So I fixed it, could see it in OE, but the scale was crazy big. So rescaled, but still couldn't see it in xplane. Finally yesterday I learned importance of Cntrl A- I realized my model was only 10cm high!!! Bloody hard to find.. Weird scaling issues then, as I'd scale it in blender fine, but in OE it was gigantic. Anyone know why?
  4. Red, no, in fact I'm yet to get the 2.49 to export myself to compare, having probs getting the Python installed. I just found 2.5 easier to learn and animations are easier, not that I'll do too much of that- though my next step is to try animating the boom gate!
  5. Amazing!
  6. OMFG, what a hellish ride on the blenderbus the last few days!! Finally, I got it solved, you'll laugh you experts you. Some may guess, I reckon it must be a common error, especially for scenery nuts. Plenty to do on this, now that I know it can be exported from 2.58, especially placement.
  7. Good q's Pete. Yes, using 3.20 with b2.58. Took a bit of setting up but yes, mesh exported 100%, yay. Even the .obj looked neat, but so far I've only quadruple checked the .png name and dimensions, a lazy 2048 sq. Coordinates look ok. Tx for the suggestion, I'll go thru the definition carefully. I've sent the obj to an expert :-). But this might need more- i may have to send to Dan and his crew who made the plugin in the first place. I am worried that it may be a sketchup import issue- the mesh is a dog's breakfast in Blender, but everything is working 'fine' in blender
  8. Tx Kieran, my blender 2.58 is semi working, that install was pretty easy as u say. Still can't see the object in overlay editor after exporting, so am investigating 2.49 as a bakup. I
  9. Hehe. This has got to be the most confusing install I've ever come across! Can u do it in gizmo??!! Bet it's easier with a Mac :-(
  10. Er, it installed, but blender is still saying the full install is not in place. Does it need to be installed in a specific directory? Also I have win 7 64 bit, us the 64 bit blender ok or better off with the std windows version?
  11. Thank Ben
  12. Ok, I can't fathom how to install it from this site: http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6.7/ I'm on win7, and can't find an installer, or an alternative. Would appreciate any suggestions. 2.7 used with b2.5 installs fine, in fact it seems embedded in the blender install. Thanks, I hope!
  13. Thanks chaps, looks like I'll be using 2,49 to export!
  14. Yeah hubba hubba! Really nice work. Are they photo textures I assume? They've come up real nice. What version of Blender do u use, as I'm having 'issues' getting the model out to xplane? Ola- yes, we all know the HARDEST part of modelling is the texturing!
  15. Stuff that, I'm buying that real Goose! What condition! Now to convince the family that they can live in it. They'll have to.
  16. Hehe, first just a few smaller things- like a decent multi storey car park for KSAN Aand then a real surprise, something different..
  17. This hardly of the standard to really 'show off', but I'm rapt some of this blender stuff is starting to sink in! Thanks Pete, for some hellish, but very efficient (to learn) tutorials from Blendercookie. Notice the authentic Aussie TV antenna/aerial, blender really makes that organic look much easier than sketchup (never thought I'd say that).
  18. Can't believe I missed that Ola. That was pretty quick, though it's the texturing that seems to be the real pain in the whatsit ultimately!
  19. Nice wow! Hehe, hopefully you won't have to convert for long- or well make a better version at least
  20. Not that there's anything wrong with them generally :-)
  21. Bastages- now that's a good description of those iceholes! Ha, and they'd still not be able to use the software- legally that is. Probably an MSFSer..
  22. Hope you're having fun! Too much eating already I can see :-)
  23. Tourist flights over the Grand Canyon
  24. Thank you Claude! And welcome to this much friendlier forum. My iPhone isn't downloading that magazin
