  1. I didn't find it defaulted to on with mine, but I put it on after my first filming!
  2. Too true! Wait till u see my jerky one, couldn't even fly!
  3. Funny! Even funnier if u said 3DS. I loved my N64, even the console looked great!
  4. Hehe, good for screenshots then. So by multicore, they really meant multi! Can I run 3 pc's SLI? :-)
  5. Quick, quick, what are the clouds like?
  6. Love that 747!
  7. Haha, I saw 3years 26 week at one point. Ok, doing both, I'm greedy. Also a few of the servers aren't responding, so a good backup. A good problem to have! I bet the MS Flight site is quiet..
  8. Speaking of games, u got an iPhone 4s right? Have u seen Real Racing 2 on it? Incredible, ps2.5 quality.
  9. Good point on the controllers Theo. I used to regularly get Playstation Thumb!
  10. Cam I've had a ps3 from day 1, it's served us well. Ok Sony have lost the plot (HOME is lame, and so is their data security), but their choicest games like GT5 and others make it worth the hassle. But xboxes are getting so cheap, I might one day pick one up just for Forza 4. Big bonus of ps is the high def video recording, pretty good browser, blu ray and in Oz, some cool video streaming features. If youre just after some quick gaming, nothing else, the Xbox is very cheap now.
  11. Nice Claude. And funny quote! Now our weather bureau says things like ' chance of rain- 90%; expected range- 0-1%' great, that's useful..
  12. Even better then! Any pics of v2 houses? You are right, if we can use even better roof and facade textures and larger varieties of structures, it'll be great in combo with the street data. Even with my brief v1 flight just now, the positioning of structures felt spot on, compared to the shotgun effect of the autogen. Edit- I just saw mdmax's pics. Wow, looking good!
  13. So, I'm progressing well so far - another 5hrs or so today, texturing Chip's sketchup carpark. I highly recommend using SKETCHUP models to practice manipulation of vertices and UV'ing in Blender. COZ MY DAMN FINGERS HURT LIKE HELL AFTER 5HRS OF UV RECONFIGURING AND FIXING DOZENS OF ERRORS AND TRYING TO UV A THOUSAND FACES, ONLY TO FIND I'VE MISSED 2 MICROSCOPIC THIN FACES SO I GET TO TRY AGAIN, 'Tab' is my friend.... So Tom Kyler, never a truer word was said re. Modelling with a view to the UV appearance. I'm doin this the exact opposite way, coz I'd half started, but can now definitely say it would have been quicker to start from scratch. Oh well, being positive, I'm discovering the wonderful power of muscle-memory, getting quite quick at remapping UVs!! I now have a new problem, Theo must have this - when to stop adding details/texturing, you can go forever... I'll try to make some 3D cars for the park next, took some pics the other day. Then I might sell them for $1 each, 'framerate friendly' (coz they'll probably have 7 faces!)
  14. Hey Benny, I used your pre-made files for europe, I know they're only early versions, but it worked very well! certainly better than default. A pity XP10 stuff is coming so quick, but your tool will still be useful I suspect, we'll just have to see..
  15. Nice grass there. ugh, I spent 5 hrs continuing to build a carpark...
  16. Brilliant. Hang on, I thought there was another group you were joining up with. That's no longer? I just tried one of the pre-prepared files, but no, not that good so I'll try the new version soon.
  17. Hey Benny, what exactly are the autogen sceneries here : http://scenery.osm2xp.com/ Is this for the whole region nominated? Does it mean we don't need to actually process areas any more, or are these pretty generic so local conversion recommended? Having a fiddle now
  18. Thanks Benny and team for all your work! I've been to busy to explore more but am compelled to now, ESP with 10's use of osm too.
  19. That was worth clarifying Javier. I'm used to Cam's direct answers, but some might have interpreted it differently! Looking sweet, this beauty is made for the night, as well as your Javelin.
  20. Nice description! So you mean self shadowing cockpit?? A picture if so?? Pretty please, with plugins and shaders on top :-?
  21. That is the best, funniest response I've seen for ages Jan! Then there's COD 'testing' next I'm sure..
  22. No Pete, google doesn't give me a straight forward answer. I've re mapped some keys to try and reset but no good. I'll try a quick uninstall, I'm sure that'll fix it.
  23. Tx, so now I wanna finish it, but my shift-mmb move command no longer works, any ideas which obscure button I've clicked to make me stuck? I can rotate around, zoom but not move.
  24. wow, what's that?? Ocean sim in Blender?
  25. Yes Kaph, I have, in fact I did that first. As with everything in Blender, it is much more powerful, especially when texturing uneven surfaces. Coz the sketchup converted models are quite messy in structure, selecting all the faces can be a pain, but I'm finding I'm getting quicker at such stuff. Then, of course, the strength of blender is its rendering engine, applying such things as ambient occlusion and normal maps. In the end though, it may be overkill, for alot of basic scenery, SU is more than capable, as the real magic is in the .png texture file preparation, as we've all seen with Alex and Tom's XP10 scenery screens. Relatively simple structures, made to look amazing by their expertise. Blender is good for bulk, large scale work, I've been impressed by the ease of duplicating items. I have said this many times, to many people - Pull apart Javier's LESA. I did so again the other day. It looks amazing, but when you look at the models, they're really quite simple. It's the textures that give the illusion, and yet its one of the most FPS friendly airports around. Blender is great for animation too, my next step, on top of the normal map curiosity (Can't wait to see its effect on bricks) That's the main reason I wanted to learn it, on top of understanding the hell that our best developers go through, and their amazing skill levels.
