  1. wow that was quick. is it for sale at the .org yet? it has an impressive field of view..
  2. I'm going to adopt the Indi style of direct communication here. bloody beauty maaaate! Theo you are getting very, very good!

    Project 3

and part of the fun is the waiting, the anticipation. funny, as soon as a plane is released there are often new queries about what's coming next...we're never satisfied!
  4. nice pics! that 117 is a very long way from home...
  5. thanks Ola. as I'm a noob I'll start with something simpler. see my last post here http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1059.msg9263#msg9263 sheesh, I've already had feedback that this masterpiece could be too complex! I'll be testing on the weekend. I really enjoyed whipping it up with sketchup in 20 mins. if u need help testing, don't hesitate to ask.
  6. ha kes, over to you, re landing at that bitch Alpe D'Huez. she's much easier at lower Alts. Mu- mapping a control for aileron trim helps a little :-)
  7. Ok, so no need to pay $1000 for lightwave etc. Hopefully no need to learn blender either. Google Sketchup is amazing, I only hope Marginal's Sketchup exporter makes conversion into Xplane easy, or I've just embarrassed myself in getting quite excited at ease of using this progam! Don't worry, I won't be designing YOUR house in future!! ;D Thanks to Uwe for referring me to it.
  8. happy to help- but I don't have much time during week-but others might. looks of great potential if it doesn't suck the fps. smoke, post crash fires and debris, rocket exhaust ...
  9. Indi, as Big Kev said, "aaaiim excited!"
  10. agree Baber, doesn't look radically different yet, I recognized xpfr paris in there I think, in between those lightning fast edits (they would have taken a good few days!). at least they used REXplane
  11. thanks Md, looks great! love that shuttle. love his cockpit closeups :-)
  12. in the interests of demystifying the scenery tools available, please enjoy my first effort, a demo video of turning the sparse Yosemite airfield into a more populated strip (getting ready for Norcal!) indii- please contact me if u want my direct feedback. after getting past the multiple sources of info and reading the good tutorials in the wiki, it's much easier to 'tweak' and even create than I thought. As ever, its like a barrier for the average user, preventing more from happening. im sure the xp10 tools will be much better... the HARDER bit is creation of original facades and designs, naturally. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/07/31/scenery-design-adventure-1-overlay-editor/
  13. alas the only remote improvement- try 'reallife '09 textures at .org, but it doesn't stay for long. hopefully our Indii GizmoGuru can get something better working ?!
  14. nice sale! as a loyal supporter I only have yet to get the C152 and Corvalis, but I'm saving my dosh for Norcal. isn't Javier's AT-6 free or donateware anyway? hehe, Javiers name had an interesting spelling in the email flyer. trust me, I'm known for spoting speling mistakes..
  15. Oh really Theo, it's that easy?! Could you do high res textures for all the cubes I release to the .org? "Special Features - Solid surfaces; Vertical and horizontal dimensions; high coefficient drag rating;" ;D
  16. Thanks Ola, you're the Pro so I think I'm looking at a very long time to construct anything as good looking as your stuff! I'll be wrapped to construct a cube... ;D I've never used any 3D design software, and I've just seen the full price of Lightwave 3D, approaching a thousand bucks is a little steep for my exploration. For a laugh, did you see my other post, my first scenery 'design'. It took me a couple o f minutes to be able to move around openscenery and the cool (in my opinion) R2 resources. I can have 20 smokestacks along the edge of the runway for a challenge.... Orgware here I come!
  17. As a welcome diversion I thought I'd dabble with xplane scenery 'development', I'll be blogging in plain English anything I learn! so far, insertion of the myriad of available objects appears quite easy. I expect a few hurdles along the way, especially when I get into Blender and custom building creation! http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/my-most-exciting-time-for-ages-scenery-creation/
  18. ooh yeah, a more relaxed and seamless version of Vatsim- only with deformable and combustible scenery/ planes and unlimited ammo! All your base are belong to us! y
  19. Greg Hofer already makes the amazing CF-104, and is working on his own F-16. thanks! can't wait, any idea when
  20. Ha, just saw the first funny/sad bit - 'detailed pilot', check 'it' out, the aliens have landed
  21. forgot to make my deep and meaningful statement- like a great heavy, the first dev to make an excellent quality military fighter will do very well and further impress the msfs ers
  22. oh dear, just advertised I see. I love the F16 with a passion, but something about this just doesn't quite look right. What do u think!? Awaaaay we go..
  23. Thanks Garrett. It wasn't my doing, I did a Blog entry on it, I think I used the Diamond Slot formation team, the genius who made it must have turned one object into 4 by careful editing. So I had 19 by 4 planes, 76 all in one shot!
  24. hehe, you mean like this?! just showing off. make sure your number of ai aircraft are one higher than the no. of planes u want to see- so if u want 15, make it 16.
  25. rush I use it a fair bit too. one prob I found is that it doesn't like xsquawkbox, as the planes don't appear if that is enabled. of clues the old RTFM principle applies and the forum is a good source. try using xtraffic recorder to record a small taxi, then load up anothe different plane, change position to watch, then load up the recorded file and play. ben's right, very hard to diagnose over the net!
