Too complex? I don't think so. It looks like a box, with another box, with another box and.. You get the idea. It's just like how I model my sceneries. Boxes everywhere, with modifications. The boxes vary in size, width, height, lenght - but it's still a box. If you look at an airport, you should be able to break it down into simple geometric shapes. Box, ball, cylinder. These are the three shapes I mainly break down a building with. Combination of these shapes may create new shapes never before seen, thus giving the idea of "this is an advanced structure". I'll see if I can get some time to show a practical example of what I mean, with the tower at Alicante. The supporting tower is basically three circles with a box or two to stitch them together, and then extruded to give it height. And then there's a hexagon for the tower itself.. OK.. Thanks Indi, that was an oldie but yes, I loved watching it again too! I forget what I do sometimes. I'll get around to doing the duchess justice when I'm in the mood. I got into a rut with the vids, so a scenery making diversion was just in time. I have a BIG new idea I've come up with, so itll be worth the wait. So....come on guys, more duchess vids!

yep, xt is pretty good, as a vid maker I use it quite a bit, however it has one unfortunate flaw- when you get close to your recording, you often get horrible jerky movements when flying, something to do with turbulence I think. best smooth replays come when in ai formation, like this:

I used it for the signs. yes it's great for more accurate positioning. but when u have a lot of faces to cover, I found the 'give it a quick flick and enlarge' method fine. I didn't mention either- using the 'projection' method saves considerable time if painting many surfaces with a similar colored area, as you can quickly drop say 10 perfectly enlarged images and then just have to realign instead of starting from scratch.

New Duchess over custom KMPI FINALLY getting quicker with the scenery basics! Check out my new tower and some funny signs I made to practice. An impressive new mobile phone tower by Jtron fits in well. I've only taken the Duchy out briefly, but it I can say that it is very impressive, I particularly love the aileron animation, nice and gradual as I would imagine in real life. Theo, I love the sheepskin, and the little touches of wear n tear, not too much this time but enough to be very realistic. What are the red tools on each door?
