Give or take a few months. If I had to use numbers the exterior is about 70% , the interior was just rebuilt tonight. I'm making sure everything fits correctly, after that its re texturing. The panel will also be reworked next. Thanks for the support!

To save the lighting and stuff I go to File/ Save Default settings. Make sure you set up everything with a blank Blender file. I saved the whole scene with meshes and all on accident. Once I launched blender I had my old mesh sitting there at launch; it was kinda confusing!
-
Here is a update.I pretty much rebuilt most of the exterior, the old mesh was driving me crazy. I still have to retexture some of the parts like the empennage. I also rebuilt/re textured and re animated the main landing gear, the nose gear will be next. After that its back to the interior. I have to get rid of that crazy prop spinner color too!

My video card is doing strange things when i run X-Plane. Sometimes I load X-Plane things are alright, other times my screen turns very bright. Like someone cranked up the gamma. I checked my screen and updated my drivers. Im using a Nvidia 7900GS Its about four years old. Is this thing about dead or what?

Yep they are forward in the X-Plane picture, I added the animations I need to work on the sweep motion. Jacoba, I want to get everything working on the Starship, just need to find a way (or someone) to program the cool systems it has.

Oh yah that would look awesome! ;D Thanks for the photos! Lucky you got to ride in one! I envy you !!

192,449 triangles thats how you do it! This is my benchmark of quality. Only if X-Plane had a rendering engine this beautiful :'(. You don't need 1.5million polys if so you can add a tonn of detail with that threshold of 1.5mill! Watch in 1080p! This is my favorite super car BTW! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuRMLp_xOz0 http://www.propergraphics.com/3dlowpoly/Koenigsegg_32_960.htm

This is ment to be a slow going project, I first started this plane back in the spring of 2008. Ive built four versions of the Starship so far the third file was lost when my computer went out( I seriously almost cried!). I stayed away from it for a while and decided to fully work on it a few months ago. I'm not sure how long It will take to finish it, Its more of a self goal project. Its like having a garage of cars you've built, buy you have one in your collection that you love to tinker with no matter how long it takes to complete. Here is what she looks like today.

Hmm I never noticed them until v9. I must have forgotten.

Thats sexy! I want those screens in my plane.

I'm improving on the interior meshes at the moment. I worked on the interior head liner to give the cabin a roomier feel, I always thought i was cramped in the simulator. So far its looking pretty good. After that its on to remapping and baking the landing gears.
-
Yep, introduced in v9. Neat screenshot by the way.

I haven' updated any shots of the interior in a long time now. But here it is, all of the main parts are complete. I'm improving on a few things here and there. In the screen shot you will see the main cabin minus the panel area. Also the shape of the fuselage and textures are updated. The textures are still changing. The rivets will be less obvious from a distance I'm still completing the mesh in blender. The rivets in the screen shot are old versions. I attached a image of that also.

The seat in that picture is slid up to the yoke.

I think of X-Plane like the XBOX and PS3 game systems. You have the console which is X-Plane for us and you have the game developers which is the X-Plane developers to us. Game developers don't release half finished games do they? If so its a well polished demo. Peter released a demo in my eyes. There is a game called Granturismo Prologue it is a pre release before the official Grantursmo 5 is finished. But it is propperly named Granturismo Prologue. I think thats a simple way to look at it.

How Long Do you Spend Developing (Developers)
Airbus replied to -TheoGregory's topic in General Discussion
Not to long ago I spent 20hrs on the Malibu, on top of that I had to fly out to Tennessee that next morning. After ariving in Tennessee I had to drive another two and a half hours; I finally hit the bed at 9pm. That next morning I had to get up at 3 am to drive back and catch the flight home. I was a zombie! I usually stay up before flights, I cant stand waiting in airports. The longest I've ever been up was 2 and a half days, doing homework in high school. -
Is it me or blender? Some how my new fuselage is not behaving upon exports: After building this new fuselage I decided to export into ob8 format to see how things turned out. The script exported the objects on layer one and gave me the usual read out at the end. I started up X-Plane and loaded up the Malibu. When everything was finished I went to the exterior view. I was surprised to see no fuselage. I went troubleshooting and found out that there is something weird going on with that new mesh that’s causing problems with X-Plane and the rendering of the mesh. I found this out by exporting other objects out of that particular blender file. I also tired adding that same file to another X-Plane aircraft and found it working. So it seems as if the Malibu aircraft file will not accept the new mesh. I checked everything in plane maker; things seem to be in correct order. I can’t seem to figure out why this is happening. Has anyone else run into issues similar to mine?

I love those wings and engines Jack! Great textures so far also! ;D

I was told not to post links regarding x-pilot at xplane.org seems like thats changed! I cant wait to buy this thing, I'm not into airliners but this CRJ has my credit card numbers written all over it!
-
Soon enough! No problems with the pictures . Yah ive only seen the Malibu Mirage in person so far. I still think they are pretty cool looking. If I had the money the Malibu would be on my reasonable aircrafts to buy. You can pick up a used 80s Malibu for pretty cheap nowadays

You know the saying "the face only a mother would love"! I have another plane that has a prettier face! Same to you Jack! I did some rearanging on the panel last night. I still have more ideas for this plane. I'm staying away from xplane for the next few weeks; I'm buried under a pile of paper work I need to finish! This is where I last left the panel. I still has the ugly texture . I put up some blender renders, I hid my xplane disk from myself !

Rafael to get rid of that dip in the nose you must have straight lines going from the nose cone to the windscreen frame. When I start the nose of a airliner I build the windscreen shape first, then I start meshing the nose area. The best way for you to get rid of that "dip" is to delete all of the lines that are shaped like the orange line I high lighted. If you take a look at the Starship I made the mesh simple so that I work less to get the finial result. The lines that are yellow flow straight to the window frame. Most aircraft are set up this way. There are a couple that have that odd looking dip between the nose and the window frame. If you look in these two photos you can see the line. The red line i have outline is a little exaggerated to show how the line should flow. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Fokker-100-(F-28-0100)/1617994/L/&sid=b9d6ec96a5f4491f25acd7480ac32b57 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Avianca-(SAM-Colombia)/Fokker-100-(F-28-0100)/1615866/L/&sid=b9d6ec96a5f4491f25acd7480ac32b57
