  1. here are some more blender renders of the cockpit and exterior also does anybody have any idea why the nose gear tires have so much noise here's are larger picture of them to show what i'm talking about
  2. As far as i know the only way to do this is to actually remove those lights from the aircrafts obj files. I would go into how to do this but it is much easier just to assign some key commands that toggle the lights on or off
  3. no, that's a Lancair Columbia 400
  4. no thankfully not anymore i spent two weeks trying to fix the problem before i gave up however when is was trying to animate the gear for some reason the dataref would not be detected by x-plane well the animation of the gear going up in plane maker would appear however in the sim it would not i eventually realized that in x-plane 10 you can just set the gear object to the gear on the aircraft and x-plane will animate for you but i don't know what was causing the problem i even checked another other .obj from some another aircraft (micheal_chang's awesome 767) to see what datarefs were used and found that i was using the correct one however there was one difference in the .obj that i saw working and the one that was not which was that the working ones were arranged so that they flowed across the screen with only the space key separating stuff well the one that didn't work started a new line after every command
  5. The xpfr Robin d400 140b available here http://xpfr.org/?body=aero_accueil&av=69 and the default lancair columbia 400
  6. Actually the issue i found may have self fixed itself but what happened was on a plane a made just to familiarize my self with the export script you could not delete keyframes for dataref values and you also could not add more then one value making it unusable however i got a little annoyed with 2.49 and decided to try 2.65 again and now it works fine though any tips would be much appreciated
  7. Here's 3 really good pictures of the cockpit http://www.cafb29b24.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89:360-views-of-fifi&catid=13 Just remeber ctrl + zooms in and ctrl - zooms out as long as the mouse is not over the photos also these do not work on mobile devices
  8. decided to start preparing the model for uv-unwrapping here's a few of my first blender renders in the cockpit
  9. Try turning down your rendering settings until the sim can maintain 20fps anything below this will cause the sim to slow down the overall rate of the sim or in other words at 10fps every 2 seconds you fly x-plane only flies for one also if you don't know how to check you fps go to the data input/output window (its under settings) and look for frame rate and then check the box closest to the word frame exit out of that window and you will see the fps listed under f-acf also try to stay away from cities such as chicago since large cities will hurt your fps considerably
  10. I would get the carenado C-208 caravan then
  11. Here's that top down view also it turns out i somehow moved the rudder down a little bit cause the problem that you saw it is now fixed, sorry if the images are a bit hard to see
  12. Actually you already have since quick time is the same screencapture program x-plane uses
  13. I'm happy to hear that i think almost an entire page of this thread was devoted to the correction of the tail and rudder also it might have helped that the first image got 5,000 render passes the bottom one only got a more standard amount of 900 though
  14. Had the post not been labled norcal scenery preview - January 20th 2013 i would have mistaken those shots for real pictures also could you guys add trees between fields as this adds a ton more realism in my opinion also after this could you guys maybe do the area around kosh
  15. Check the actual position of the throttle in the cockpit if it is at 100% when your joystick throttle is at 35% if this turns out to be happening go into to plane maker go to the engines window and look for the point at what engine goes into beta setting or something very close to that it should be in the top left of the screen once you find see if it has a value greater then zero if so set the value to zero (the 767 had a similar conversion issue)
  16. Actually i can tell you from actual use of both a mouse and joystick the joystick has a 100% gurantee that it will at least triple your amount of realism and really you'll probably have more hassle using a mouse then you will using a joystick not to mention that they are pretty cheap my first one (a logitech extreme 3-d pro) cost me $5 and worked like a charm the entire time i used it however be warned you may reconsider not wanting to upgrade after this (i have invested another $1,500) also to get such a good deal check youre local goodwill i use goodwill specifically by the way because i can tell you for a fact that they test the electronics they sell to make sure they work
  17. Nightflight you are correct about the fact that all prop aircraft turn a little bit the actual term used in aviation is p-factor which is basically the gyroscopic motion caused by the spinning propeller blades trying to turn the aircraft and the reason turning the rudder in the other direction helps is due to the nature of the rudder or in other words the rudder can replicate that movement in the other direction and to work the fmc the loc button is a navigation hold switch which will guide the autopilot based off either your nav1, nav2 or fmc based on your selection on the nav source selector and the arm button should put the autoplot into approach mode (its starts intercepting youre selected glideslope) the button you are looking for is actually the fd (flight director) button which will tell how you should by flying however if you can't find the fd button there should be a gauge in the cockpit that based of the nav1 radio will display how you are following a approach or if you are going in the correct direction towards you're next waypoint i don't know exactly where it is in the king air but i do know that it is on the right top side of the cockpit of the baron if you want to see what one looks like and if all else fails x-planes stars actually are in there correct position so you can follow them at night at least during the day just follow a railroad track or freeway
  18. Here are some screenshots of the nose gear and tail (i changed my mind on not having a screenshot)
  19. turboprops reverse thrust by changing the pitch of their propellers to reverse the thrust also what was your mixture setting when the engines stalled? since i have found that about 72% mixture will cause the engines to die on you
  20. I meant 2x2tb
  21. i would by a 2tb instead you can get a high quality one for $130
  22. Being a teenager i would consider that a understatement, also, if you still have the source files is there any way you could make the project open source? Also The true moral of the story here is unplug external hard drives at night
  23. Actually as far as the nose gear is concerned that could be next to the rudder and still be in the right place since i will export it as a different object to take advantage of x-plane 10 features and i have fixed the elevator (i decided not to post a screenshot for such a small change this time)
  24. Youre answer is probably here http://www.x-plane.com/files/manuals/Plane_Maker_manual.pdf
  25. To start the engines You need to turn on the igniters (there right next to the yoke) also if you can't slow down try turning on reverse thrust (you will need to make a key assighment for it though i prefer f2 and when using set throttles to max for max reverse thrust) and if the engines are still making noise and the props aren't turning this is not a bug it's the nature of turboprop engines also i almost never adjust the pitch and i never experience the engines dying on me as far as the nav is concerned use the fmc behind the throttles (be sure to set the autopilot nav source to fmc) as far as the panning issue is concerned if you have a joystick see if you have a hat stick on top if you do you can set up some key commands to allow x-plane to pan around using that as well if you don't have one you can just use the right mouse button in 3-d cockpit mode
