Working on a VOR route from KLFT - KIAH. I made a few mistakes and will need to mod the route for future flight. This video was pulled from my live stream. Enjoy

So this morning I was testing engine exhaust / HDR. I noticed something odd going on. The left engine does have something around the exhaust nozzle. Its very very faint and seems like its inside the rear part of the cowling. You would never see it if you don't zoom in on the exhaust nozzle. The right engine has nothing. Please see the video for an example. At the start is the Challenger 300 to show HRD on. At the 7min mark show Saab outside exhaust and at the end I show my settings.

[SOLVED] Aircraft does not work with soft linked aircraft directory
AtomicFrawg replied to t5e's topic in Saab 340A
I believe you can only have it installed in the x-plane directory. I think it has to do with validation / anti-piracy / Gizmo. I will tell you this is not a bug and something they more than likely will not change. I have 3 other aircraft from them and they all require to be in the X-plane 10 dir. -
@ Arb65912 - Please keep the drama out of my threads That is correct. I only fly with HDR on. Still not seeing the exhaust.

Hey John, There is something missing from the below photo.

Edited the above post to contain the entire video.

This my flight from KBOS to KJFK. It is following the tutorial flight, however I change it up at VOR CCC to work with the ILS 31R Chart from AirNav. Please enjoy.

Thanks Ill remember that from now on Did I ever mention How much I LOVE this plane?????
-
Rgr, That what I was talking about in my prevoius post on the check list. Its missing from the check list, I only noticed it from running the auto start and watching it flip. That was my 2nd full flight with the plane. The night flight was the 3rd and this mrong I did the 4th KBOS-KJFK. I am getting better and I also made a few changes to the last part of the tutorial at CCC. Just wondering, when should it be turned on?

In fact Ill help you out. Here are 2 videos of my tutorial flights, one day and 1 night. http://www.twitch.tv/atomicfrawg/b/465247322 and http://www.twitch.tv/atomicfrawg/b/465549859

Ummm I dont see your logic. When you buy a car, do you ask for the manual to go home with before buying the car? I pretty much told you to go look at a real Saab 340a manual and you will see what this plane from LES / X-aviation has to offer. It is the same and the real deal. Infact I was watching a youtube video and the 2 pilots followed the same check list and I could Identfy what they were doing just by flying the sim version. I own the CRJ, this plane blows it out the water and takes xplane to the next level. The real question is, You either want the plane or you don't. Reading a manual should not sway you either way.
-
@Emalice- The level of detail that was put into the 209 page manual is amazing and very well done. The amount of time they put into this is worth more than a free download. I was really on your side of making the Docs free until I bought the plane and started looking at the 5 Docs that came with it. If your on the fence about buying the plane and the manual is what hold you back, don't let it. Buy the plane, you will not regret the $54 spent. If you really must read up on the Saab 340a, just google Saab 340a flight manual and read through a real life one. Or watch the Youtube video of the real Saab 340. This is how realistic LES / X- aviation's Saab 340a is. Bottom line, I don't blame them for not wanting to give the manual out for free.

Could not get it to do it again. Lets just chalk it up to a mistake I made or something like that. I flew the entire tutorial with no issues. Thanks again for the support and help.

The EHSI matched what is on page 8.

Hi Cameron, The color was the yellow dot, as in the photos of the tutorial. I know, that what is odd as I have Gizmo with the Corvalis TT, JS32, and MU-2B and have no issues in the past. I will do the flight again tonight and report back. I can't thank you guys enough for the great support. It is very clear that you guys are extremely proud of this project. I can't wait to see what is in store next.

I thought that also, but in the tutorial you pickup the 1st VOR off the runway. I also verified freqs and that the Nav s L was selected. The EHSI was also checked showing the VOR1 pointer and center line was lined up.

I feel bad for finding ways of breaking the Saab, but I did find a bug. I was running through the tutorial and everything was set (nav info checked) And was a go for takeoff & climbout. The autopilot mode selector panel was at the default HDG and VS lights on. At 500ft agl engaged autopilot and then selected the climb and nav buttons. Now this is where the bug appeared. The Climb and Nav light came on, the VS light turn off and the HDG light stayed on. It would only follow the HDG bug and not engage NAV mode even though the NAV mode light was on. On the EADI, it displayed LOC1 and HDG at the same time. All freqs and settings were set as shown in the tutorial. I tried resetting the autopilot. I pushed the Nav button again and it turned off, the HDG button was still on. I pushed the HDG button and it stayed on no matter how many times I clicked it. I tried it with the autopilot on and off. I will try and recreate the bug again tonight to see if it was just a one time deal. I will also try and get it on video. Also, I think there is a memory leak. While flight last night from KLFT to KNEW I noticed everything getting extremely sluggish. I pulled up task manager and it show 15gigs of the 16gig of memory being used. I never had this happen with any other airplane. If I can recreate it again, I'll check further and find which program is doing it. My OS is Windows 7 64bit 16 gigs ram i7 3770k OCed 4.8ghz and twin gtx660s Again, I see you guys are actively looking into all posted issues and are fixing them super fast. This is an example of great customer support and the reason I will keep buying and flying your products. Again Big thumbs up to you guys!

Well hell, I guess its my OCD kicking in. That would bother me in real life Btw. LOL

First off, I want to say WOW!, you guys really did it. This is an amazing aircraft. I did my first live stream with this aircraft last night and the viewers were very positive. This was also my first time opening and flying the Saab 340a. One notable comment was, "This is better than a PMGD aircraft for FSX". It was a 2 hr walk around, getting familiar and a short test flight. This plane is a dream to fly, oh and no overly exaggerated torque issues. (this is a huge plus fyi) The check list view feature is out of this world! The first time going through this I was awestruck. No fumbling around looking for anything. Big Thumbs up! Flight tutorial?!?! Who has ever heard of that with a study level plane? LES and X-Aviation has! This is something that was needed in past aircraft, and the Devs provided one for us in the Saab. It's very easy to follow and step by step from startup to shut down. The documentation is amazing and very well done. Just two suggestions: 1) A check all and un-check all button in each check list. Including the ground services tab. (check all needed) I know I'm sorta lazy. 2) I would have liked to see the engine exhaust heat distortion. Not a big deal but would make a cool addition. A few very minor things I have noticed. 1) The northwest red and grey livery does not match from the radome to the fuselage. Note: I am assuming that this is trying to simulate a repaired or replaced radome, however I think the white stripe misalignment is over done. 2) The prop freewheels in the wind, cold and dark. There has to be some kind of prop brake lever I just have not found out about? 3) Two switches are missing from the check list. Main INV switch and Standby Pitotswitch is not mentioned in the normal before start check list but is listed in steps 8 and 9 of auto start.

DO NOT TEASE ME! Cameron! Ok well maybe just a little bit.....
