When you leave cockpit view and get back into cockpit view you have to re-enable TrackIR in PilotView. I just assign a joystick button to do that ... can't remember what my key combo is .. but I think it's Ctrl / .. off the top of my head.
-
Works a treat for me as well. Make sure Trueview is selected too ... and I use PilotView as well (Sandy's plugin). Another thing to remember that catches some people out is that when using PilotView, you need to disable TrackIR in the X-Plane interface itself .. everything happens thru PilotView.

Polet-Flight livery for Take Command! (L.E.S.) Saab 340A

Lol .. also saw your comment there .. good one Harry!

Actually 10,000 times better ... 10,000 has historic precedence to mean 'much much' or 'lots and lots' better ... that number where things coalesce, crystallize and become congruent ... what I'm actually saying is that I totally agree with your post!

PhM .. that's exactly what he said .. he was talking plural (primitives) to your singular (primitive) .. but essentially what you go on to explain is exactly what he said.

I'd be very happy to pay full price for a CRJ done to the same level of detail as the SAAB, but what I really really want, is a KingAir B200 and a Pilatus PC-12 done to the same level of systems fidelity ... ok that was off topic! Yep, what Ben said ... it's all in the manual, and it's a really nice plane.

Woa! .. chill out man! You're wrong. I've been involved with Tech Support long enough to know that despite what you say, the reality is that it IS most likely to be your PC that has a bottleneck some-where, and you're getting so upset that you're not willing to accept and explore that possibility! The SAAB is CPU intensive, there's probably much more that's happening under the hood than other sims/planes and it's totally unfair to do the comparisons with other aircraft .. that comes across as a misinformed user perspective! First strategy for getting good tech support is to NOT tell the tech support guy he's wrong from the get go , and it's totally unrealistic to expect any optimisations on the SAAB straight away .. right this minute .. because all the guys have been working at it for so long to get it out the door, they need a break from it! C'mon, where's the heart? In the mean time, it's now up to US (the users) to see what WE can do with regard to optimising OUR PC's .. and see if we can't all help each other enjoy this fabulous creation! We need to be solution centric ... do a bit of research and see if possibilities don't pop up with a more positive frame of reference. That way everyone benefits. Cheers,

It sounds like it's PC specific to me too. I don't know if it'll help, but disabling core parking helped me a little .. you can see my spec below and I rarely dip to the low 20's (only when @ a major airport .. I should add that it'd be an Australian airport; which seems to be faster than a Yankee airport ). Also placing my virus checker into silent mode appears to have saved a few CPU cycles as well. I don't think the lag is related to how good people think their graphics cards are either ... X-Plane is CPU hungry, not GPU hungry and I even read on Tomshardware that too high a card specs can be detrimental as some of the newer graphics cards actually steal CPU cycles ... for tech specific info you'll have to search (I'm @ work .. lunch). There's a fair bit of information about general systems optimization for Windows 7 on the Net .. I'd be looking at those for a source of inspiration. It's not X-Plane .. but good learning experience nonetheless .. DCS tweaks

Actually Frankenfurter .. it was you Bravo Morten! IMO, like it or not, whatever an individual's take on Gizmo, Linux or Windows might be ... it's undeniable, the combination of ALL these factors that make an X-Aviation product experience has set a standard ... that leave others tumbling in it's wake. OK .. I've got a bit of a skinful @ the moment ... on Ballandean's finest red .. but by jingo, I swear that the upward moving trajectory began with the Moo and it's been a consistent theme from that point forward. I raise my glass to you guys! Sometimes it feels that X-Aviation is an oasis in dry lonely desert ... Here's to talent unleashed ... Cheers!

... you're just plain wrong .. Now that's just bolshoit ... ... that sounds like an *opinion* of someone who sulks when they don't get their way ...

Sorry Mario, a small correction is in order here ... the SAAB is bloomin' brilliant ... a legendary work of epic proportions, a turboprop symphony of two visceral 1,735 shp General Electric CT7-5A2 engines ... they weren't kidding when they said a new era has arrived in the world of X-Plane! Welcome Brazen, I hope you enjoy your experience and as Mario said, holler if you run into any issues and we'll try to point you in the right direction ...

I cleaned my cache .. and it didn't work .. however, this morning I was able to access! Thanks guys for 'listening'. Cheers! Kris

Thanks, I'll give that a go .. @ work currently and can access from work!

Nope! Still the same message ..
-
Thanks for the heads up Goran! I'll do that right away.

This is NOT a rant .. I'm genuinely puzzled. Well .. very strange .. every access point is blocked with ... Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. I wonder if my profile's been hacked and nefarious things done as me? I remember them stating not long ago that they (AVSIM) would just pull the access from people they suspected of doing bad things to their forums (hacking/spamming etc) ... I'm not sure I'd enjoy this type of notoriety! And I can't even email the forum admins because I get .... Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. So for any Avsim moderator type person who might wander to these fair X-Aviation shores .. I'm harmless .. and would appreciate a reason as to why I get that message ... or even if I am accused of anything at all! . Cheers, Kris P.

Do you still have any of the following conditions apply; I found these seemed to impede my first flights .. Ground OP mode button still illuminated Prop Auto Coarse is still 'On' Prop Synch is still 'Off' Flaps are still set @ take off position ...If any of those are still at the settings they are for take off you will find it difficult to 'settle' into a nice climb/ cruise .. and it will feel like you're dragging a great big anchor around the sky Hope that helps, but I could be barking up the wrong tree, as you say that you've followed the rest of the check list ... Curious! *** I still can't get over how TERRIFIC this plane is! LES and X-Aviation and all of the guys n' gals who had a hand in making this project a reality .. I am deeply grateful!
-
Nice one Ola!
-
Hi Igorland .. I have your first version and like it a lot! Thank you! P.S. Looking forward to version 2.
-
This plane is something else! The liveries too .. I'm so over the moon with this release .. and I got the REX livery too! Thanks to Leen De Jager as well!
-
Words cannot begin to describe what I feel right now. This is for me almost a spiritual moment ... and anything I say will be hopelessly inadequate to describe how TOTALLY *UCKING AWESOME this SAAB is. You guys are GREAT!
-
Downloading now! Heaps of thanks to LES and X-Aviation for making this possible!

How extensive is the system modelling for this one ... and is this the next iXEG project? BTW, it looks like it's got a tendency to roll to the left, and I saw that you were continuously adjusting for it ... not bad, but still unrealistic ... obviously still in very early alpha.
