That the lens flare option, you can turn it off in the SMP UI if it is not to your taste
-
@Cameron ? Taken care of?

We collaborated with FSGRW and that’s why you are seeing more in conjunction with smp and rwc.
This combination actually has more depth over any other option in XP right now.
Although ASXP has a trick interface and more notoriety it fails at limiting itself to 3 layers and not being able to present more Detailed information from the metar.
If you’d like to continue using ASXP, try giving them a shout in regards to smp integration we’d be more than happy to help them....

I’m confused, rwc comes with an installer, just run the installer....input your credentials and select the X-Plane root folder.
If you go to the plugins folder, under rwc,we provided an ops manual too.....
-
If it installs, I would check that you are using the X-Plane root folder during installation. If the plugin isn’t in the proper location it will not load...
Please provide us with a log.txt also

The sky colors need to be refreshed from the XP dialog....
I don’t have XP in front of me but the manual has instructions on how to do this...
-
No problem Steve! Just a little annoyance with the X-Pilot installers....
if you search for “font size” in the start menu it should take you there....
-
Set your windows font to 100%
-
A couple things to consider....
SMP does not provide windshield effects
Rain is positioned accurately via metar interpretations when using rwc , you may be in an area of light precipitation
Inside The SMP dialog you can make adjustment to the precipitation to make it more visible
Finally what aircraft are you using? Maybe an unknown issue we aren’t aware of?

I am so not trying to be difficult.
My present weather add-on combination, specifically SMP with RWC and FSGRW, is by far my favourite.
Instead, please see this as a genuine enquiry as I am concerned that my SMP is not behaving or displaying correctly.
I'm just looking for reassurance that it is working and rendering as expected.
The written word can be a poor conveyer of thoughts and feelings, and probably my posts have not been read as intended.
Thank you,
Fabio
Sorry Fabio I haven’t had time to fire up xp to give you a good example.
Im dealing with the end of year rush, an extremely busy time for me.
I’ll follow up once I have time.....

Oh geographical location too, an example would be The artic during the winter where the sun may hang out under the horizon for a long time....
-
Actual time and moon phases do affect cloud brightness at night....
I going to assume you have those factors at play....

I must say your advise is so far of all security thinking that i get sick to my stomach. I have worked as a security architect for the most of 20 year now.
I have until now newer heard a software developer say to their customer to disable the virus protection... I think You have a lot of security thinking to do.
Scary advise...You also know know you can add an exception which keeps security in place....
And you’re probably aware that false positives are common.....
-
Search in the control panel, I think it’s under the display settings
-
Change your windows font to 100% and run the installer...
-
Something is definitely off here first step, please provide us a log.txt file....

Not in 4.8.2 but in 4.8.0 depending on which overcast layer you select, it may be lighter or darker....Not in front of my pc at the moment but if you look at the thumbnails you can see the progression...
Frank made changes in .2 maybe he adjusted the lightness and I’m not aware...
Additionally the fast or soft options for the cumulus representation seem more natural and have more depth....
-
We made some major changes in 4.8.0 to many of the cloud files which look more natural, in 4.8.2 we made some adjustments to the vertical representations which look far better.
i think you are seeing a combination of both changes impacting the overall look to SMP.
Im glad you are enjoying it!!
