  1. Im a glutton for punishment I guess.......lol
  2. Viper we are doing what we can with what we have available, we heard your concern over the rain about a month ago and told you what we can do and what we felt. You continue to bring it up expecting some magical result, isnt that the definition of insanity?
  3. I just visited the rain "situation" Viper and honestly you really are over reaching here. In reality snow and rain will not contrast much against clouds, the effect with SMP looks just fine. You are beating a dead horse Viper, we are aware of the situation, personally when I see this constant badgering from a "consumer" I feel as if our product is being trolled. Our user base knows we offer frequent updates based on feedback. You just found something you perceive as a negative and you want it to be at the front of our support forums for all to see. Ill finish with saying "noted" lets see what the future brings....... Ill be here looking forward to any more reaching you might do....... <<EDIT>> Upon further investigation, look at this image of 2.1.1 in high resolution......you can see the precipitation contrasting properly through the cloud density
  4. Viper I think SkyMAXX should make me dinner also and wash my car......... Patience and an understanding of the SDK will provide you with all you need to know right now....... The default weather engine only allows for 3 cloud layers and thats all we have access to.........
  5. Have you tried 2.1.1 yet?
  6. Yes please Pete, we can use this info in the future..... My guess on EFASS is a yes, Wycliffe Barrett of X-Plane Dedicated uses this program...... You can find him on Facebook under that group for more information.......
  7. Pete, Can you try running SMP without the NOAA weather plugin I suspect this is what is causing your crash. The crash occurs after new weather information is passed to X-Plane and SMP starts drawing this layer again...... Its my understanding that NOAA hasnt been keeping up with the X-Plane BETA cycles and it may have some issues......
  8. Tom your fascination with V1.2 is strange since performance enhancements have been the focus since the initial release........ Try turning off the high resolution cloud textures and scaling back some other features and you will find that V2 actually performs way better.....
  9. To be clear though both the crepuscular rays and lens flare both have an impact on FPS......We are fixing FPS issues when the lens flare is turned off.......
  10. We have a fix for this its coming in the soon to be released 2.1.1......
  11. In a word yes
  12. Scotch thats a bit off kilter SMP does offer more than just clouds, its a more accurate representation of certain conditions ie stratus, overcast, scattered so on and so on.......Oh lets not forget how the move and morph with the wind.... You have been happy with SMP for awhile but now all of a sudden you chime in because it doesnt do something it never did? I don't ever remember promising a weather engine to the community, and we have had a series of important updates to further improve the product. SMP has advanced greatly since its initial offering and is continuing to grow. The Silverlining clouds which are the backbone of the product are very sophisticated and can integrate more into the weather system for X-Plane. Thing is nothing of this scope has ever been done in X-Plane and we are dependent on LR to provide us with hooks so we can better integrate with the default engine. Our roadmap for the future is to integrate fully but as of today we do not have that ability. Our history dictates we are very motivated to continue offering updates to SMP for stability and full integration into X-Plane. Scotch we do consider solutions but sometimes the magic fairy dust doesn't work, I really don't like the implication that we are ignoring things. For instance people should consider sending over the Swedish Bikini Team to my home for a party and I am a bit upset that people have ignored my requests....... But being of sound mind I realize the people I know do not have access to the Swedish Bikini Team, a few of my friends are in negotiations with their agent and I am hopeful it will happen one day..... But I am fully at the mercy of the agent at the moment.......
  13. Jose I once supported the NOAA plugin for use with SMP but as Cameron stated its not a good idea since that plugin is riddled with problems.....
  14. Oh and what the heck does that have to do with lightning?
  15. Tom, You can revert 2.1 back to V1 very easily which will perform better than V1 itself with the improvements made during updates..........
  16. I'm trying to see what you are talking about but I cannot open tiffs on my phone can you throw some png's up?
  17. Juan I pay attention to the community, I noticed you were coming up with clouds. Totally cool my friend and you actually spoke of them being 32bit at the moment and post shots of them regularly on many FB outlets.......congrats You pop up here spreading negativity, anyone of mild intelligence will notice you are pushing your own agenda. Spare us the "Im an innocent customer" trick you are trying to pull. If what you have is that great release it and allow it to stand on its own just like we did with SkyMAXX........ A word of advice your gorilla tactics will not sit well in the community and lack professionalism.....
  18. Juan is working on a competing cloud package and has been spreading bad information about SKyMAXX.......Look at the review on the X-Aviation product page.......
  19. There is no crash in the log.txt..... What dialog do you get when it crashes? And to make sure is this the log right after it crashed?
  20. Something different....
  21. Unfortunately sometimes we are at the mercy of the higher powers....in this case Nvidia
