  1. I'm pretty sure using Shift-8 doesn't leave the camera constantly moving with the mouse, which works very nicely I've found.
  2. That was an interesting explanation, now I understand exactly why all the heavies I fly are so strongly affected by crosswinds... it's a very annoying 'feature'! Any idea if the folks at Laminar are trying to fix this?
  3. My mistake, didn't read enough of that tread! Would indeed be part of the ADF system.
  4. It's an HF radio antenna, according to this: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/tech_ops/read.main/96934/
  5. This would sure be interesting! Also we'd probably have to crown John the king of land, sea and sky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Dwayne, I was planning to put them up as exclusives on my website as I didn't think they would warrant much interest but I'd be happy to upload them here if some other folks are interested! As for the Qatar livery, you can get one on the .org if you're able (or willing) to visit there, so I probably won't make another myself. Here's a shot of Flytampa's Dubai Rebooted to keep things relevant.
  7. Testing out some liveries of my own design. What do you guys think?
  8. While the opposite happened for me, it magically appeared while I was testing some scenery... this is one bizarre glow!
  9. OK so I think I answered my own issue, it was simply a tiny little object with a funny/missing texture. No idea what was so funny about it that it killed X-plane in such an odd way.
  10. Hi there! Never actually posted here before today so please tell me if this isn't the right place; since it seems related to a scenery package I'm editing then here seemed appropriate. I'm working on converting some UK2000 scenery, the Edinburgh one to be specific, and have come across an odd error. Basically, Edinburgh will load initially and (while a mess due to being a difficult conversion) everything is there. However, if trying to load a new section of scenery (e.g. by changing the airport you are at) or even re-load the scenery, I get a crash following an error message reading: Note that this scenery is the cause of things as removing it eliminates the issue - it happens no matter which airport you go to from Edinburgh, though travelling from one place into Edinburgh has no effect. I don't think it's the same issue as an old v9 problem I spotted that was related to Nvidia cards; while I have one, this issue is in v10 and specific to this scenery. I've attached my log file in case that helps though there are some other issues that are due to this being a WIP conversion. If you can help me, thanks a lot, I'm stumped! Log.txt
  11. There is some way of doing this, I've seen a few libraries which allow you to place a single object in WED or overlay Editor, which is then randomised when in-sim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Actually that's an interesting point, I didn't see whether changing aircraft could cause artefacts, all my tests were with the JARDesign A320neo since it's by far my most-used aircraft. I shall have to have a look! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Got the upgrade and not noticing any red line issues either I'm not 100% sure but traffic lights seem way more powerful, but it may be I was so busy looking for red that I just spotted them easier! Also, performance definitely increased by about 5fps in London - Enough to make the area useable again!
  14. Wow, if I get close to that result then that'll be brilliant, currently getting about 25-30 FPS in the London area where I want to fly most, so changing to 35-40 would be absolutely wonderful!
  15. Interesting. I heard it was a HDR problem, do you use it Canox? I might as well try it, can always revert back!
  16. Ouch! Anyone know if this is a widespread issue, or if there is a fix? I could do with a performance boost but red outlines aren't fun!
