No Problem! But that site you were using appears to produce MSFS FS9 Flight Plan's, so it may be using a nav database for that sim and not X-Plane which uses a different database (based on this site). As long as you use the frequencies you see on X-Plane's Location/Local Map the JS-32's NAV/COM/ADF/DME radios should work ok. cessna729.

I don't know if the OP was just pressing the FMC up arrow key in uninitialized state on purpose or not. But you are correct in that I could only force the FMC to cause a CTD, "by pressing that key when there was no ACTIVE PLN", i.e. "in an uninitialized state".Note: I didn't try it during my testing, but guess the "DOWN ARROW" may have had a similar problem? If users follow the check lists and normal SOP's, they are not likely to have had a problem with the "UP ARROW KEY". When there was an ACTIVE PLN, the UP ARROW key works correctly as expected (No CTD and all is ok, cessna729.

Flying in the rain today, I may have noticed a minor "wiring fault" with the operation of the Jetstream's LEFT WIPER Switch to the FAST position. The RIGHT wiper starts moving at the same time. Note it appears to move over the glass, but does not touch it (or remove the rain). When the RIGHT WIPER Switch is operated on it's own, it all appears to work correctly, (the rain is removed from the RIGHT hand window). It's just the operation of the LEFT WIPER Switch (on it's own), causes the RIGHT wiper to move as well. Hope the vid makes things clearer. (Note: I have drawn a red rectangle around what I think is the faulty animation). My appologies , if I'm getting mixed up and it's intended that the LEFT Switch is supposed to operate the RIGHT wiper as well. cessna729.

Great Video! and the checklist is not bad either! Looking forward to Part 2! cessna729. -
Which airport (ICAO code)? Which VOR? And what frequency are you trying to use? Bet you didn't use the correct frequency or forgot the HSI SELECT SWITCH?. cessna729.

Hi Cameron & Philipp, I'd agree 95% of the time with many "user reported problems lately". But with respect to the "UP ARROW" bug that jeanlune discovered in post #1, I'm sorry to disagree with you, as this appears to be a repeatable effect (at KRNT anyway), which IMHO is not fixed by using the CRJ-200 64-bit plug-in on my Windows 7 machine, or by down-grading to ver 1.45, or by using XP9.70 as it happens. I don't think it's a big problem, and the work round is simple, don't press the UP ARROW key on the CDU before you have a active flight plan to step through on the ND in PLN mode (which is the only function of that key that I know of anyway) @ Philipp I ran a test wih XP 10.11 and CRJ-200 Ver 1.4.5-aee94cb and again with XP10.20b11 (64-bit) and CRJ-200 ver 1.5.3-32009f0 (64-bit) and X-Plane 9.70 as well, and got the same results, CTD. The attached winzip files each contain the Log.txt, Cycle Dump.txt and the relevant XP cash dump report files. Here is a short vid (using FRAPS so it stops on the CTD) As I said, it's no big problem as normally you don't use the UP ARROW key on the CDU for anything untill you have an active PLN anyway, and once you have an active flight plan pressing the UP ARROW dosn't cause a CTD (on my machine that is). Also if it's any help my Windows 7 (64-bit) machine has a EVGA GTX580 GPU with 1.5GB and Nvidia GeForce 310.70 drivers (in case it's a NVIDIA related problem). Update 1: The UP ARROW key causes a CTD on X-Plane 9.70 as well even starting "Engines running", (that is if there is no active PLN). Update 2: Even using Remote CDU "Up ARROW" key cases the same CTD. cessna729. CRJ-2 Ver1.45 UP ARROW CTD.zip CRJ-2 64bit UP ARROW CTD.zip

Recommendations for Tutorial(s) on JS32 Radio Navigation
cessna729 replied to JimboG's topic in I'm New To X-Plane!
Ok, James, the PIKEY Fix is part of the GULDA and CAEN Standard Instrument Departures or SID's for EGJB. As you say you were flying from Jersey EGJJ to GUERNSEY VOR-DME (GUR), did you want to shoot an approach into EGJB (GUERNSEY)? If that is the case, and you wanted to practice VOR and DME approaches, I suggest the EGJB VOR/DME RWY 27 approach. The RW charts for EGJB can be found here. But I also suggest you practice simple basic stuff like traking towards and away from VOR's to start with. Practice intercepting a RADIAL, using the TO and FROM indicator. And practice how to fly STANDARD RATE TURNS, climbs and descents, one step at a time before attempting to put them all together in an approach. Back to your original problem, PIKEY is on the 083.5 deg RADIAL at 15.0 nm DME from the GUR VOR-DME beacon, not the 265R cessna729. -

That's not the radial!! You appear to be getting a bit mixed up between Radial, Hdg and Track. And you can get to that PIKEY without relying on the GPS!! Just give me a few minutes and I'll show you. cessna729 -
Recommendations for Tutorial(s) on JS32 Radio Navigation
cessna729 replied to JimboG's topic in I'm New To X-Plane!
Hi, James, there are many good RW IFR/Radio Navigation tutorials on the web. But for one aimed at X-Plane try here, scroll half way down and look for X-IFR 01 to X-IFR 10. cessna729. -
The JS-32 isn't a Airbus, it dosn't have "auto land" capability, you the "pilot" have to land it. If you select 35 deg FLAPS it WILL AUTOMATICALLY disconnect the autopilot as described in Javer's manual pg.44 cessna729.

How do I restart engine in flight?
cessna729 replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
A very good set of Pilots Notes on the TPE331 (Engines on the JS-32)is available here. http://eastaire.us/files/TPE331pilotnotes.pdf Quotes from same are taken out-of-context: by me This next quote (from the ENGINE RIGGING/GROUND CHECKS) is very interesting if taken out-of-context as it may appear to indicate that the "Real JS-32" may have been prone to the occasional "overspeeding RPM" at times if given a tough life. The use of capitals is taken straight from the doc, and is NOT me shouting!! And also this quote from same ENGINE RIGGING/GROUND CHECKS: So it appears that Javier may have managed to design/build his JS-32 to have some of the same idiosyncrasies as the "Real Aircraft" cessna729. -

[IN PROGRESS] A few 1.03 questions/issues
cessna729 replied to woweezowee's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Hi Andy, I agree and find it very intriging how X-Plane appears to interact with all the different joysitcks, peddals, throttles amd other hardware and how this can a cause problems for some users when using 3rd party plug-ins. (i.e. some aircraft appear to work ok, when others suddenly appear to start having problems, some people have problems and others don't). I think it may be useful, if when users appear to have run into a problem with say the JS-32, that they attach a copy of the Log.txt file, as this "logs" how and when XP notices changes in hardware e.g. button/axis ect ect. But to help make sense of it, a simple list of what you did. Just like you included in your last post! Also, idealy if you could temporarily "turn off" all non related extras, eg. AI aircarft, non vital extra scenery and "other plug-ins" ect. ect., that way Javier and Cameron might be able to see if there is a common theme in the reports? Just an idea! I've been very lucky with my CH Products, Pro Stick, Throttle and Pedals and Windows 7 64bit (Note: I only installed the bare drivers and didn't install any extra software on offer). http://www.chproducts.com/Fighterstick-v13-d-722.html http://www.chproducts.com/Pro-Pedals-v13-d-716.html http://www.chproducts.com/Pro-Throttle-v13-d-719.html And havn't really had any problem with the JS-32 :) cessna729. -
Jetstream 32 - Checklist .clist Available v0.1
cessna729 replied to JimboG's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Hi James. just downloaded your v0.1 Just one minor suggestion, I couldn't find any link in your readme or Installation Instructions.txt file to {just a reference to the downloads section of .org} 's actual Checklister 1.1 plug-in. It was no problem because I all ready have it on my machine, but some of your many viewers might not read all of Installation Instructions.txt and know where to look. Looking forward to v0.2 cessna729. edit:1 edit 2: Tried your v0.1 in both XP10.20b11 32 and 64bit, (in XP-32bit works no problem, in XP-64bit checklister 1.1 just dosn't load , which is as we expect, but it don't cause any problems by being there, it just gets logged as Error Code = 193 in the Log.txt file).- 11 replies

As a work-around, you can get the Built-in X-Plane GPS to load a XP FMS flight plan, by assigning a joy stick or key to sim/FMS/key_load Yes Please!! :D . cessna729. -
