[SOLVED] Engines shuts down after some minutes
cessna729 replied to birdy.dma's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Hi birdy.dma, Hope you don't mind me "butting in on this thread", but getting 0.00's in the THRUST LIMIT page is usually caused because you have forgot to enter the mimimum amount of data for the FMS to calculate THRUST LIMIT's i.e. ICAO code for ORIGIN and ORIG RWY. THen when you enter a OAT the FMS can calculate TO, CLB, CRZ and MCT for you. (If that wasn't your problem, I appologise for "butting in"). cessna729. -
Not a stupid question at all. I suspect the NAV RADIO was still in "AUTO" mode and not "MAN". (see the [RADIO] page on the MCDU. Note: After I fly over the GAD VOR, the NAV1 RADIO automatically changes to the GAD frequency 112.3 because I had left the NAV1 radio in "AUTO" mode. THe NAV2 stays on GAD 112.3 because it's in Manual (MAN) mode. cessna729.
-
That's the same as I can remember when I flew a F20 IRL for a bit all those years ago. :D Ditto for MCT as well. cessna729.
-
They do the same thing, except the MCDU page allows you to fuel to the nearest lb, the other two to the nearest 10 or 20 lbs. Not that I know off, but if you load another aircraft that does have an IAS/Mach switch, fly that for a few moments, then re-load the CRJ-200 you will now be stuck in Mach mode And you will have to re-load that original aircraft and reset IAS/Mach switch to IAS to get the CRJ working again. The calculations are based on pressure altitude, static air temperature and indicated airspeed, and how Javier/Philipp have programmed/simulated it (maybe the fields are reversed? I'm-just kidding!) You would need the engine performance tables and FMC design manual to check. For example, on my machine I can get CLB higher than CRZ, at KASE Rwy 33, entering -49 OAT gives CLB 86.5 and CRZ 85.0. On the "real aircraft" [As quoted here] cessna729.

Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.5.1 Update Released!
cessna729 replied to Cameron's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
If you mean "mouse view control" Here! and it's "double right click" to activate, also mouse wheel to zoom in and out. and "single right click to deactivate". Left mouse button still works the same so you can select controls, knobs and aircraft controls with that, while controling your view and zoom with the right mouse button.cessna729. -
Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.5 Update Released!
cessna729 replied to Cameron's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
What buttons did you press between loading the CRJ-200 ver 1.50 and pressing POS INIT? Have you tried starting X-plane, loading a default aircraft (say the C-172) waiting for it to load, exiting X-plane. Then restart X-plane, let it load the default C-172, then when its loaded, select the new CRJ-200 wait for that to load, then using the check list, start the APU ect, IRS 1 and 2 to NAV, then try INDEX and then the POS INIT sequence of inputing Airport ICAO, copying to scratcpad the Lat/Long using the RSK oposite the ICAO then RSK 5 to SET POS or something similar (not at sim at the moment so can't check).cessna729. -
When the end product is of this quality... .... it's worth waiting for!!! :D cessna729.

Hope some of the attached charts may be of use, sorry there not pdf , but I didn't have the correct plugin to download, so there only screen shots (then only bits of a page at a time): cessna729.

Very impressed with your X737 Web Checklist, very "clean and clear layout", and also eagerly waiting for the CRJ2 checklist Try zipping (try useing the Mac equivalent of WinZip) the .ods file then attach to your next post! I agree with Mike Hotel that "Integrating the speed calculations etc. would be a valuable 2.0 feature, too!", and for Version 3.0 your own Graphical based Flight Planning tool maybe? :D cessna729. p.s. X-plane crash only when flying CRJ online.
cessna729 replied to johnatan's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Your answer is here: Have a good flight! cessna729. -
Hi FloB, If you fly "airways" (Victor routes in the USA), you don't have to do much typing, just enter DEP and ARR then enter the Victor route ID and exit Fix and the FMS will enter all intermediate fixes/waypoints for you. Edit: Sorry FloB I was getting my Google searched OnLine FMS Manuals mixed up, see Philipps post #7 below. For example KCAR-PQI-V3-EYW-KEYW is 1736nm long and has loads and loads of Fixes/waypoints in it and is only one Victor airway (V3)! To see the route try SkyVector Note: I havn't entered all the fixes in this link, but the FMS would!! Once you have input the route once, you can then save, recall and edit "saved" routes at the touch of a button. cessna729.

Does your screen look like this: or this All I had to do was start the engines, on my machine XP10.10Beta4 with CRJ-200 Ver:1.45, Windows 7-64bit and EVGA GTX580 (GeForce 301.42 Drivers), XP in HDR Mode. cessna729.
-
Hi Andreas, If your using Windows OS, look in the CJR-200\Manual\CRJ Performance Planning Worksheet folder and you should find a MS Office spreadsheet that you can use, also check this previous thread. cessna729.
-
CRJ-200 Ver 1.45 in XP10.10b1 on Win 7-64. ADF1 works ok, but can't tune ADF2 to correct frequency using the FMS RADIO option, if I attempt to enter 328 kHz, XP10.10 or the CRJ enters it as 1328 kHz. Tried entering 0328, 328.00 and still dosn't work. But if I use the "Radio Control Unit" the frequency is displayed correctly. Also ALT mode maybe having problems, but maybe "finger trouble" as she's a bit difficut to fly using the mouse!! (as my CH kit dosn't work in XP10.10, Chris think's he's sorted that problem in beta2 ). Update: It's not a XP10.10b1 ADF problem!! It's the same under XP10.05r1 as well, if on the last CRJ flight there was a ADF2 frequency > 999 kHz for example 1280kHz, the "thousand digit 1" is stuck on the FMS RADIO display, as a work-around if you select a freq < 1000 using the "Radio Control Unit", then re-load the aircraft its ok, as long as you don't tune the FMS radio control to > 999 or it gets "stuck again". cessna729.

AI planes not moving on ground if CRJ Avionics plugin is on!
cessna729 replied to ayarov's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
One thing that caused "Grid Lock" of AI traffic on the ground in the past was light and variable winds, as XP10 would keep switching the active runway and so would impose a "HOLD" on taxi clearences, untill it had re-routed all the AI aicraft on approach to the new runway and tried to re-route aircraft on the ground to taxi to the new active. Problem was, the winds being "light and variable", XP10 would suddenly decided the wind had changed direction and would start re-routing all the AI aircraft again, hense "Grid Lock".Try picking a different airport, and manually set the wind to 10kts down the centerline, and see if the problem improves. cessna729.- 11 replies

AI planes not moving on ground if CRJ Avionics plugin is on!
cessna729 replied to ayarov's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Forum Up-down-up-down, Trying to post!! All Done!!! NO CRJ related problems seen on my Windows 7 (64 bit), XP10.05r1 installation!! :) Only thing seen and expected was XP10's "daft" ATC after a random period of time getting into "grid lock", one AI aircraft got as far as half turning onto the active 16L at KSEA then stopped for no apparent reason (on DEV console all the other AI aircraft on the ground taxied and lined up behind the "stuck aircraft" and just sat there, and sat there (DEV console said each couldn't take to the active because of the AI aircraft ahead of it). After 10mins I went to map view and manually got hold of the "stuck" AI and ajusted Alt to 5000ft IAS to 350kts, then suddenly XP10 finally relised there was not AI blocking the active and the rest of the aircraft on the ground started moving again. This well documented "feature" of XP10 happens no matter which aircraft you fly, Default 747 or CRJ-200, unfortunately for testing, it appears at a random time after XP start. Not supprised, JRoolon's CRJ-200 in a very complex aircraft, and it's plug-in is not intended to be enabled/disenabled while the sim is running. No CRJ problem on my machine. :) Only the normal XP10 ATC!! Try deleating your "XP preferences", try flying at different airports, hope LR sort out ATC in Ver 10.10!! cessna729.- 11 replies

YES! you can use XP10 ATC with the tutorial, but as I said "XP10 ATC a work-in-progress", so if your lucky XP10 ATC will try and get you within 40 or so nm of your destination, then try and "Radar Vector" you arround for a visual approach, to which-ever runway it "thinks" you should be using. You also may get alot of "Your'e off course....YOUR'E OFF COURSE!" if it thinks your flying a direct route. Sorry Otto, having re-read your original post, if you've finally just managed to get the CRJ off the ground I have to say, Aviate, Navigate, Communicate, i.e. practice alot more just flying the aircraft, then start flying a bit further to different airports without using ATC, before you finally think about turning XP10 ATC on. cessna729.
-
No problem Otto, The answer to ATC and X-plane, depends on which version you are using. If your using verson 9.x then it's alot different from the new version 10 implementation of ATC. So if you have version 9.x look at the on line manual, and look up ATC. If you have got version 10.x the online manual is here, again look up ATC. A very good condenced Using X-Plane 10′s Air Traffic Control Tutorial can be found here. Hope it helps! Just remember XP10's ATC is still very much a "work-in-progress", it will eventually enable alot more "emersive simulation", it's just got to work through a few "teething troubles" first. Which is why alot of "sim pilots" believe the only way to get good ATC is with a human ATC controller.. online! See this tutorial and here. cessna729.

Javier, She looks Utterly fantastic!, and if she flys even half as good as she looks, you'll have us queuing round the block to place our orders!! There is a space reserved for her in my hanger allready. :) cessna729.

I'll give it a go sometime When i used to intruct for a living, a long, long long time ago in Texas "Pan-Handle" USA, we didn't run-into many mountains, but sure found alot of "turbulence", they didn't call it "Tornado-Alley" for nothing So-much-so, we used to do most of our IFR training at night or early morning cos it was so bad in the afternoon cessna729.

Hi stefan, the LOWK ILS28 approach with a KFT Transition looks advanced to me (2 step down procedure turns), cor you must be "hard core IFR pilot" if you don't think that's advanced!!The "real plate" looks good. The CRJ had a little problem with the 1st proc turn (shown in yellow). You can see the CRJ's flight path (the thin violet line in the plot below), it flew the procedure quite well, and it's not realy to blame for the miss shaped 1st Proc Turn. It tried to do what the Navigraph 1206 data said but as the AppTr_Waypoint ID="3" was set to "Fly-by" and physically close to the next WP, the CRJ "flew-by" the full procedure turn, it did better on the 2nd Proc Turn. (see below). Question for philipp: On the current version of the CRJ and Navigraph data, how close is a "Fly-by"? and what's the minimun seperation between WP to keep the CRJ happy? cessna729.
-
When I flew your LOWG SID last night, my CRJ-200 set heading to 167 deg and climbed at 185kts to 8000ft with WP (2200) maintaining the same relative posittion stitting approx 10nm infront of the aircraft all the way, till I gave up at 118nm Well that's enough fun "lunch-time" is over, back to work. cessna729.
-
Hi Stefan, I wonder if the FMS's need to see a "transition-through" and not skiping/removing WP if trigger allready passed also applies to lateral limits? i.e. contant heading till radial or dme ect? or is this "feature" limited to alt? cessna729.
-
My guess was correct, I've just checked on my 1202 cycle Navigraph data for LOWG. On that version they have the ABIR2G SID for Rwy 17C, and WP1 is a ConstHdgtoAlt 1520ft, WP2 is the GRZ NDB, WP3 is the ConstHdgtoAlt to 2200ft, and WP4 is the Intc which IMHO is unfortunate as the JEP published SID states that "a minimun climb gradient is required of 468ft per nm (If unable to comply to use SID GRZ-2X)", LOWG elevation is approx 1120ft, so 2200-1120=1080, therefore the a/c has to climb 1080ft at a climb gradient of at least 468ft per nm. So it would take 1080/468= only 2.3 nm and yes you guessed GRAZ NDB is at least 3.5nm from the end of Rwy17C and approx 4.3nm from the mid point of 17/35. So the a/c will pass 2200ft before passing the NDB (based on my quick reading of the published SID). Therefore if Navigraph had coded the NDB before the 2200ft Alt Restriction there most likely wouldn't have been a problem. Note: It's now very late so I've just had time to do one quick test flight and take the mesurements off X-plane's Local region map, I still have to dig out the books and check the expected single engine climb performance requirements for the SID specs. . But that's for another day. cessna729
