Ooooh, I never would have guessed that the performance characteristics would be so confidential. I would have thought that, as you said because they are so competitive, that one would be happy to show off that information to quantitatively show why their aircraft is better than their competitors.

One hour? I'll be totally honest, it took me over 2.5 hours very first time to get through the whole thing, and that's without those amazing study pages; this is seriously a golden standard at this point. You know, a lot of planes aren't worth this much, but if they had features like this and simulation this in depth, I'd happily pay for this kind of quality.

I'm guessing they want people to pay big bucks for those who use the manuals for training or official flight use? I find it hard to think that someone who is completely unfamiliar with the airframe to know it in and out from just the provided manuals. Hotstart has made a wonderfully complex aircraft here. If any aircraft for X-Plane has ever deserved a full on manual, it's this one.

Pretty much the title, I was running low on fuel due to some of my own miscalculations and was searching for a close airport to land, I pressed NEAREST APT on the FMS once and X-Plane stuttered, but the FMS did nothing, did it again and XPlane crashed. This happened three times so it was repeatable.
