Mu-2(2.1.0) - Pax and Fuel Load Manager
joncoughlin replied to OneOffRegistrationUser's topic in Mitsubishi Marquise MU-2 v2
Will this functionality ever be natively supported in the module? I'm sort of shocked that I still can't adjust the payload in the stock version of this thing. -
lol yikes! Having worked in aerospace and always shied away from valves and plumbing, I don't hold any grudges about it.
-
Thanks for all the detail! Interesting to hear it is an XP issue from 11 to 12. I'll have to look for it on other turboprops.

I noticed that a lot. It doesn't fail for me every time, so I did some landing circuits to check. I'm this video the props reverse at high speed on landing one, then fail to reverse until low speed on subsequent passes. I assume there is something repeatable going on?
-
Landing timestamp is in the link. Any thoughts on why my props failed to go into reverse on this landing? It has happened to me in the past when I don't have my props at max RPM, but in this situation I'm sure I did have my RPM all the way forward. Is it possible for the reversers to fail to kick in if I move the power levers too fast? You can see on the controls diagram that the levers are in the Reverse zone, at least.

I'm flying the Mu-2 a bunch on short trips around Wisconsin for X-CPL jobs. I have started a YouTube playlist of my terrible landings: The inverted power/pitch relationship of high engine aircraft always screws me up, but this module is a ton of fun All these flights start near MTOW and land after burning about 600 lbs fuel, so they're still landing pretty heavy. I have a long way to go before I'm touching down in my target zone at sub-200fpm speeds. The awful stuttering I get near the ground doesn't help. I don't sim jets, so this is by far the hottest airplane I try to land, and it feels fast and dopey in landing config. I'm enjoying the challenge. I'm also enjoying the cruise speed!! Hell of a module

I don't know how I missed it, but there definitely are buttons for "Parking Brake Set" and "Parking Brake Release". Very happy to have found those
-
I did notice that moving hardware mix levers will keep my engine from starting, so after unmapping them I haven't had any trouble starting my engines!
-
Have you considered adding "Parking Brake On" and "Off" buttons so we can set it on our hardware with a switch? Or just a "Parking Brake ON" switch?

Rotating Beacon Sound Volume
joncoughlin replied to joncoughlin's topic in Mitsubishi Marquise MU-2 v2
lol oh no it's real! Alright, good job, then lol. -
This might be the loudest sound in the whole airplane package. Is that intentional? lol it's SO loud I assumed it was a fuel pump or something.

I'm going to keep flying the module, so I'll let you know if it's repeatable Yesterday I couldn't start either engine after trying to use the "first start of the day" checklist, so I assumed maybe I should just use the quick list. Then, this morning, I had that issue starting the right engine. Now that I know it might not be "me" I'll just reload the plane when it happens, but if I can get it to happen reliably I'll let you know. My only thought - is there anything specially coded with the propeller "on the locks" unfeathering stuff? I always move the condition and power levers through their ranges and hit that Unfeather button and stuff to try and make sure I have the props flat, but considering it's an imperfect "check with your eyes" sort of test I wouldn't be surprised if some special number underneath doesn't meet criteria that the engine start computer needs or something? I'll try to simplify my start procedure in the future to isolate buttons and levers I move that could be the culprit. Thanks!

Attached is a video of me failing to start the right engine. I have had this happen more than once on one or both engines. I can't tell if there is a way for me to troubleshoot in sim or if it's a bug? Here is what I notice: Left engine starts, shuts down, starts again just fine. Right engine spins, gets fuel pressure, EGT just barely increases but it seems like combustion never catches. I tried engaging Continuous Ignition, but saw no change.

Buying V1 in the sale today and I can't wait to buy the upgrade to V2 Godspeed; everything looks great. -
Landing: problem with Power Levers and the IDLE "wall"

You're still doing it. -
Landing: problem with Power Levers and the IDLE "wall"
joncoughlin replied to Prosco's topic in Saab 340A
I was manipulating the prop levers all flight with a hardware axis. I had just moved them to full forward on approach. I moved them backwards when I had stopped with hardware. Took my throttle out of reverse and the prop levers jumped to full forward again and the throttle became unresponsive - also locked in full forward position. Both of them were then unresponsive to hardware inputs. I waggled my hardware axes forwards and backwards and neither would catch. Airplane drove full throttle off the end of the runway and into the lake. I don't know what else to tell you. You should be able to look at the code that drives these systems and hopefully use that to reproduce the bugs. Separately, why on earth are you insulting your customers? I just bought your module for $50, and while coming to this forum to report a bug I saw you insulting people, which informed my tone in submitting my own report. I write reviews of modules and I'm a flight sim developer myself, so I am pretty willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I won't be buying any more of your products now, and if I do review this plane I'll make sure to note the way you berate customers. On my opinion that the module is not functional: I can't land the airplane using the same hardware I use for every other aircraft I fly in the game. As a reviewer, a plane with a throttle quadrant this unconventional to control is functionally broken as a product, especially when it has existed for years and is advertised as mature. If your response to customers was "we are sorry our custom implementation of the throttle quadrant is upsetting player experiences and we'll look at what we can do to improve that" then you wouldn't see people getting upset. -
Landing: problem with Power Levers and the IDLE "wall"
joncoughlin replied to Prosco's topic in Saab 340A
Holy cow, guys. This is brutal! I bought the Saab two nights ago and every time I land both my throttle and prop handles get completely broken. My prop condition handles get stuck, my throttle gets stuck and completely unresponsive. I'm trying to go into reverse and my throttles will lock full forward. The plane is just completely unfunctional because of this. What a horrible experience This has got to go to the top of your list of bugs.
