We are ok, but the death and tragedy is unbelievable. The general consensus was that people where wanting to sleep and wake up and it all be a dream. People being pulled out of rubble, People are saying the quake shook 2-3 times more than the initial. I think we all have survivors guilt. I was planning on taking a trip into town at about lunch time but over slept. I could possibly been dead if I had... I think everyone knows someone who died or at least knows someone who knows someone... - My girlfriends uncle (The australian that died) was pinned down. He told the medical person, his wife's number. and he rung but when he came back, he had died (they believe in his sleep)... I'd met him and had dinner with him. Great guy really funny. - One of my best friends mums, was crushed in her car by falling debris. - One of my mother's ballet pupils was pulled from the wreckage and airlifted to Starship Hospital in Auckland. She was ironically in town for a doctors appointment. She has very little Brain activity. Don't know how long she'll last. She's about 8 I believe. Its at 75 dead and there's still at least 300 people still buried with there status unknown. I'm sure as they find more, we will all find out that people we knew at some point in life have been killed. Its just horrific. You see this sort of thing in 3rd world countries. Personally I think the 747-8 looks nicer... I also love how Boeing havent gone the technology route that Airbus have. Simply cos flying using a computer is not really flying in my opinion. Gimmie the days when one smelt jet fuel as you boarded the plane through the rear (727)... Although I was about 5 at that time, its definately what made me want to be a pilot when I was younger. So the moral of the story is: No points to you letting a computer put you down in a 50 knot crosswind.

I've been working on a new light logic using Gizmo and have implemented in a few places. This is the latest work I have been experimenting with. This was taken from behind the left wing with ambient light spilling out over the engine and wing from the cabin.

I've looked at the library spec. It seems very easy to use. But nobody really uses library's for that purpose (except maybe winter world). Which is a shame because it would be maybe than a weeks work to properly model UK houses and make them show over only over the UK.

Scenery has about 4 or 5 on the field. The 747 will have 4 or 5 hundred. Not really comparable

But i'll throw you a bone. 1. Go to USGS website. Download it your imagery from there. 2. Make a Mesh or no-one will be able to use it...

You realize Leading Edge Simulations are working on a 747 with full custom avionics suite (FMC... etc)?

Simply because a screenshot or video of the flight model isn't that interesting from a customers viewpoint. I mean it could be possible to say this plane has a flightmodel that's 98% realistic flight model but you can't prove that with pictures like you can with 3d models. -TheoGregpry

How many people on this forum willingly choose to fly the "crap" ones on a day to day basis? My interpretation of the situation is that most people (on this forum at least) are still stuck flying very few numbers of planes.

I loved it. It made the SeaBee look good aswell as the sim. dden did a pretty good job on her from what I can tell from the video. Oh and I loved the Boeing font.
