  1. This is something I came across on Facebook. Looks VERY interesting. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/pdf/629786main_FS-103-DFRC.pdf
  2. That CRJ-200 is probably the most enduring add on for X-Plane. Javier started making that in 2008, and people still fly it.
  3. Not sure yet. Maybe both. As many as Theo can do. Probably more than 10. Too early to say. I'd rather not say anything to compare our add ons to Javier Rollon's add ons. I consider Javier a good friend who helped me when I first got into add on development for X-Plane.
  4. Tried it and all is working fine on my installation. Did you try to restart the sim and then go through engine start again?
  5. We went through a few versions of click spots, and we found this one the most practical and easiest to use while keeping them uncrowded. Trust me, there's plenty of room. We're looking at finalizing the setup with a small test team who will give us a customers point of view on how they operate.
  6. Not the course selector. What I said was "Coarse Tuning", which is the larger tuning knob on the radio. But I think we're adding the scroll wheel to everything that rotates on it's own axis. Which includes the Course Selector, Heading Selector, etc...
  7. All in good time, Daniel. I've already got topics lined up for the next few videos. You wouldn't undress a girl when you first meet her, would you?
  8. Yes, commands will be available.
  9. We would like to give you a small sneak preview into part of what we have been developing for the Citation. We have had considerable feedback about the radios in the Saab and we ARE listening. The Citation has a very similar radio package as the Saab. As Ben Russell continues to develop Gizmo we are able to bring you more capability and even better performance. Below you will find a video highlighting some features of the "new" Collins Pro Line II radios as implemented in the Citation. These features have been many months in the making and we hope they solve most, if not all, of the issues that some of our customers had with the Saab radios. Feedback is welcome so please let us know what you think.
  10. Carenado products are converted from FSX to X-Plane. From what I know, as I have been approached at least twice to convert FSX add ons to X Plane, and I am in the process of 1 at the moment, most, if not all of these, do not involve creating new mesh and textures. It involves creating a flight model, programming systems and animating the relevant parts. At least half the work is done with mesh and textures. We depend on our work to speak for us. Any other written article is a bonus, and we appreciate it. In saying that, everyone will have an opinion. Whether it's negative or positive is beyond our control. Like i said, we let our work do the talking. And we have faith in what we do. If we had a choice between creating a "lite" heavy aircraft (Boeing, Airbus, etc...) or a deeply simulated, procedure level turboprop, we would choose the latter every time. When we have the time and funds to spend 3-4 years creating something like a properly simulated Boeing or Airbus, then we will definitely do that. Carenado add ons for X-Plane are recycled FSX add ons. Mesh and textures are supplied. If Flight Factor can complete a procedure level simulation of a 777 and 757, and make the mesh accurately according to boeing specs, all within the timeframe it took them to complete it, my hats off to them. That's not something we can even remotely do while implementing the systems depth we choose to. PMDG, a team of at least 14 developers, took about 8 years to complete their MD-11. 5-6 years to complete their 744. And they are considered the best at what they do. Flight Factor, going by their facebook page and other forum posts, have a large team that specialize in particular areas of development. This allows them to produce add ons in short periods of time. Considering Airbus are notoriously secretive about their aircraft, and the fact the A350 is only just out of the gate, I cannot see how ANY developer, doesn't matter who it is, can replicate the systems of that aircraft. Guesswork is not what we are into. We want hard data and information. Not speculation. In closing, each developer has their own philosophy on how they want to approach add on development. We have ours and it works for us. We are not an aircraft mill that is just going to pump out aircraft after aircraft in a short amount of time. We have chosen to create hi fidelity products in every aspect, including 3D mesh, textures and systems. This is not something that can be done in a short period of time with a limited group of developers. Lastly, there are only a small handful of people who truly know the sales figures of LES. So please do not presume that because you feel we are not as well known as these other developers, that we are any less successful. The new customers we get every day are a confirmation of this.
  11. All this over window reflections???? Really??? Pass me the popcorn!!
  12. The first thing you need to think about is what type of aircraft. Please don't be like everyone else who starts making aircraft by building a popular airliner. You need to learn to crawl and walk before you can run. Choose something small and easy like some kind of ultralight or single engine GA. You will learn a lot and you will see your creation take flight a lot sooner than something a lot larger. Download Blender. Check their forums for ideas and tips. Youtube has an excellent collection of videos on Blender modeling tutorials. Don't rush. Take the time to learn. It's ok to make mistakes. That's how you learn.
  13. Our Saab cabins are cleaned by some of the best cleaners in X-Plane. We also have military grade polarizing skin attached to the windows to totally eliminate reflections.
  14. It's been a while since I've flow the Saab, but we have included charts for the landing in the manuals folder. You should check those out and adjust airspeed accordingly. For the loadout, the Saab uses the default X-Plane load manager in the aircraft dropdown menu within the sim.
  15. Reflections aren't hard to do at all. But we would rather do them properly now...with shaders. Not textures. We're trying to keep moving forward with every aircraft. Adding new stuff. We don't want to recycle old techniques.
  16. Procedure level saab 340A simulation with tens of thousands of lines of code that replicate the real systems to just about 100% accuracy, tested and approved by a Saab 340 captain and FO and you want...window reflections? Give yourself an uppercut, scotch!
  17. Yes. But some things are happening that involve the Saab and will be mentioned in due time.
  18. We had a Saab 340 captain with over 4000 hours and an FO with about 2000 hours help us with every part of this aircraft and its systems. Definitely not a "jump in and fly" add on. Please make sure you read the manual. It covers everything you need to know.
  19. Make sure you are in some kind of alt select mode. Climb mode might be best and that has different climb profiles.
  20. Please make sure you hold the Autopilot button for about 2-3 seconds in the on position. If you don't hold it, it will snap back and that is probably why the aircraft is pitching down. As for the Gust lock, please read this
  21. Nothing shell-like in these systems. Everything is being coded to just about 100% accuracy (according to the documentation we have) based on flow charts and schematics. It's not a case of "if switch is turned on, then illuminate this light bulb." It's "if switch is turned on, activate relay, close circuit, etc, etc, etc and turn on light bulb" (My version of code). Too early to mention any kind of feature list, but it's very safe to say that people will be very happy at what we have included.
