  1. Hawker Hurricane ! Had a break from X-Plane and spent five days camping and fishing the beach with the Kids in East Sussex. Laying there relaxing a Hawker flew over, followed a short time later by a Wellington, then a Corsair, Spitfire, some old Biplane then a Helicopter Gunship. Must have been an Airshow somewhere earlier--neat suprise--
  2. You're right, theres absolutely no comparison in any respect & LR's constant & welcomed cleaning up/ advancing beta additions of v10 are projecting X-Plane to another dimension completely. Roll on 64 bit.
  3. Taureau is an asshole and a jerk. avoid www.xplane.org like it's got fleas - it's the home of assholes, jerks, liars and downright nastiness. The org may have quantity....... but we have quality Ouchouchouch---'n' Ooouuch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Downloaded 10.b9 and there seems to be a reasonable drop in fps. Anyone else notice the same? ?
  5. Cheers Max appreciated--certainly impressive--think I'll wait for 64 bit X-Plane then hammer the Scenery a bit.
  6. What Specs is your computer & what fps are you getting in those pics Max ? As Nicola say's it's Fantastic but I imagine it comes at a price as the Grand Caravan is no lightweight even on my machine.(Where poss I do tend to fly fully Maxed out-- though no scenery)
  7. Neat as usual Max nice one.
  8. Can we delete previous to get more space?
  9. Neat. Think Laminar are seriously begining to deliver what we were all hoping for last Christmas. V10 is developing into one serious piece of kit--Well done Guys at LR.
  10. 100% behind you on that--they're all such a pleasure to fly--Camerons Cessna Corvalis TT is a dream to fly too.!
  11. Running really well, better fps alround except with Les DC 3 & Carenado's C208B where the fps rates are skipping radically from 50--4 and back. (Don't think it's plugin related) Carenado Seneca running better fps than in v10 05r. All Saitek X52 problems sorted. However getting Pixelled bright coloured objects when decending down to low cloud levels--as though the scenery tops/tips & miscellaneous objects (Windsocks) were showing through the cloud and being Fluorescently highlighted. Otherwise fine & enjoying it
  12. Yeah have that Ben but after version V9 when I tried to access it all I ever got-is what I get now? -error try again later:[string"...." ]:2: unexpected symbol near:<: & thats all I've ever had since. It was the FOV I found handy.
  13. Very impressed--Gobsmacked even-Everything working fine & fps up on 10 05r by a welcome margin Shall import a selection of planes, Saunter around a few places in the Virgin Test Install then update the Majors. Neat work & well done LR and Bug crew--Thanks Previous turbulence issues? Open the Data-weather monitor-choose a fine day with plenty of single Cumulous around & fly into them, through them, & out again one by one--Pretty damned neat effect--thats class.
  14. Absooooooooluuuuutely ACE Ben--Brilliant--Thats made my day-- & have a good one yourself--Cheers Edwin (Ohh & I actually purchased Gizmo--any chance of putting back the little Goodies that used to come with it in the next version?)
  15. No Ben not at all normal & should not be necessary--neither should be moving a 2mb folder around be 'necessary'. By isolating Gizmo dependant planes on a seperate AND unnecessary 'multi gigabyte application' I am able to fly Jason Chandlers Cirrus & now x2 new Carenado releases without the "load of bollocks and pain in the butt" constantly interfering big time. By reverting to the Gizmo loaded 'multi gigabyte application' I can fly Camerons Gizmo dependant planes where the "load of bollocks and pain in the butt" is no longer a "load of bollocks and pain in the butt" ..and I do say so..'cause its given me endless Haemorrhoids
  16. Your lucky Max but with the new auto crash reporting they're on to it and communicating real quick. Yeah noticed fps down. The Columbia C400 is a nice addition but nowhere as good as Camerons very complete/fully operative 'Corvalis TT' version--but at least the former comes without the 'Crap Gizmo' nonsense (Strewth is that load of B####cks one pain in the butt)
  17. Well she's out but BEWARE--major issues with Joysticks & Yokes for a starters--constant Program crashing (And this machine has never had a program crash before.) Luckily I made a copy of my specific Virgin installation & am & shall be using this to test out the Beta process until they stabalise it. l Wouldn't try patching it across any of your regular installations--these 'Bugs' actually 'Bite' That being said there's some interesting Goodies inside. http://forums.x-plan...287#entry661896
  18. If you haven't heard--Hope they're ok. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/lifeboats-sent-tornados-crash-143759080.html
  19. Heaviest in my Hanger on fps but a dream to fly.
  20. Now that was neat Flob cheers. However on the downside I couldn't help noticing the sound of the engines. I've always thought/hoped XP's Beechcraft's engines to be reasonably realistic but in comparison I think they're far from it. However watching the Mooney landing there from the same bunch of clips I'd give Carenado's Mooney's sound representation a 90% mark up. (Couldn't help noticing as I very rarely get into watching such clips for some reason--but will do) Cheers again
  21. Good choice they run XP X extreemly well. I've been using the GTX 470 for a year now in combination with the gear in my signature and it's proved to be a fine combination on Windows XP pro 64 bit with the AMD 8 core. I generally have everything pretty well maxed out in Rendering options and neither the 470 nor the computer have ever crashed-bluescreen or otherwise--and I have hammered it a bit. Good flying & have fun Edit-sorry Folks that should have read GeForce GTX570 as below
  22. Just a general interest query. I have just been Bush flying up Valley to AZ5 Cache Creek in Canada to be met by an incredibley sloping runway. (In appauling weather but l managed to land the Mooney safely!!) a. Is AZ5 like that for real--or just another XP thingy-ma-jig? b. What is the real life most inclined airport? Cheers
  23. Will have to wait. Just been bush flying another Carenado favorite of mine the C185F Skywagon low level following the Valley's 89WA-6S9-KS10 quite awesome flying with light cloud. Love that region & up into Canada except when the weather suddenly turns (I always fly Real Weather) and you find yourself having to fly a couple of hundred feet above and following a river. Challenging to say the least--Cheers
  24. Thanks Steve appreciated. Love Cessnas but anyplane turned out by Carenado is a must for me.They are one of the few companies that 'only' accept Credit Cards--most others accept Visa Debit or Paypal which is direct, costs nowt & shows up on the Bank details instantaneously. I've queried them about it but never got a response. Have to wait--Cheers
