  1. In the meantime it has been 3.5 months since the last update, and I am still waiting for the possibility to fly a flapless approach or a clean stall with this plane properly...
  2. Ah damn, the same PR reply that I give to people requesting new features, now I know how my own medicine tastes On a more serious note, I just wanted to show that there is definitely interest in this plane. I never expected demanding updates actually doing anything ;)
  3. Dear @Coop, this fix has been made (internally) more than a month ago, please push an update out, it would be really great to be able to use the plane in clean configuration too properly for flapless landings and stalls. Many thanks.
  4. Any chance you could push a new update? Just waiting for the flap behaviour to be fixed before I do a review of the plane (and for clean stalls and flapless landings, that fix is really needed). Or if there is a beta channel to which one might be added, that would be nice too... Cheers!
  5. I just noticed (in XP 12.06b4) that placards are dark at night, and they don't react to any spill lighting. For example parked under an airport light the placards next to the fuel caps are black, and inside the cockpit the same can be said (e.g. alternate air placard, or the arrow placard pointing towards the alternate static port, or all the white text around the knobs such as the ECU test, engine master, electric master, etc.). Actually without artificial night at night they are slightly visible, but as soon as there is some light source, all what should be white on these placards turns black. Not sure if this is XP beta related or DA40 related, but wanted to note it down.
  6. Let me know if there is any way I can help in debugging this.
  7. First of all, thanks for the update, all my previous bug reports have been covered, which is excellent. After a first quick test flight including a few patterns I found a strange bug. Whenever I approach stall in clean configuration (I have not tried others), the flaps starts extending and retracting on their own (this is both audible, and visible - both looking at the flaps and the flap lights), continuously moving between clean and take-off position back and forth, without me touching the flaps. I even did a sim restart to see if it was something I did accidentally, but no, simply starting up, taking off, cleaning up the flaps, and then doing a clean stall I can reproduce the behaviour. Accelerating away from near stall speed the issue stops and everything goes back to clean config... A very minor extra comment is that the flap light transitional phase (two lights lit at the same time) seems to last 2-3 seconds longer than the actual flap extension time, not sure if this is realistic or not, but I would think not.
  8. On my system, they are almost identical in performance, the DA40 being even a few % better (quick comparison made with battery 1/2 and electric master on, respectively, but engine not running).
  9. See the rogue light source on the screenshot It is not a reflection it is really there, floating outside the glass covering the lights.
  10. Unfortunately I have not enough modelling knowledge to help, but I fully understand/agree that emissive lighting would be the best... (If it was possible I would use a series of down aimed spots with broad but less than 180 degree cones to approximate the emissive strip. -> I just checked in the SR22 because I thought that had it like this, but no, the red light also goes up there, but it is less evident due to the plexi glass starting more to the front, but with the cow plush on top, you can see that it is being lit from below, so those must be also omnidirectional...) To be honest this was my most nit-picky observation of all the bugs that I found, but thanks for picking this one up too. Also minor extra note, the file INT4_LIT.dds should be completely black except - I think - for the two circular light areas, since only emissive surfaces should have a LIT component On a properly calibrated monitor at night the difference is clear. It is an easy fix that I immediately made on my copy, just noting down.

    DA40NG QUESTIONS

Unfortunately none of these is currently available in the DA40
  12. Strobe lights are currently shining through the winglets. This must be a model/light definition issue, as the nav lights don't have this problem. Optimally the turquoise flood lighting that shines from the light strip on the bottom of the dashboard should only point downwards, and not light up the top of the canopy. Right now these seem to be modelled with omnidirectional light sources, which should not be the case.
  13. It is a bit of a pity for an addon at this price to not recreate at least the custom engine page like the SR20 and SR22 did, but even on the compact engine display I am curious if it would be possible to display the load and RPM values in front of a yellow background when they are in the caution range (at full power on take off for example). About the power lever: it is a bit strange that a lot of movement (like 1/3rd - 1/2 of the full travel) is necessary to raise the load from idle on the ground, and start rolling - I unfortunately have no real life experience in the NG version, but I am wondering if this is realistic. [It is not an issue with curves or anything, I can visually see the lever move and the load is barely reacting for a long time (or travel)].
  14. The ECU test sequence resembles more the DA40-TDi version than the NG version. In the NG, the ECU test sequence should be the following: ECU TEST ECU test button........................... press and hold “ECU A/B fail” ............................................. ON Prop cycling 2 times > 1900 RPM “ECU A/B fail” ............................................OFF ECU test button..................................... release In the sim now we have the ECU A fail then ECU B fail annunciations instead, moreover the second warning does not disappear on it's own only when the ECU test button is released, which would be incorrect even for the TDi.
