  1. it's offline now, I adjusted my initial post. yeah, about that c206 and especially the c208 - I'm waiting for the latter already a very long time. I own one in FSE . I'm equally looking forward to Toms version of that plane.
  2. that's right... don't know why they put it up there with a "buy"-button too early...
  3. the Twitter feed has RSS http://twitter.com/#!/XAviation
  4. listed on their products page for xplane: http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php?accion=product&correl=58 costs: 25.95$.
  5. I'm really looking forward to it, even ordered the video I linked to a few days ago
  6. can't wait for my next flight
  7. Since it's not a pure CRJ related thread but one about a common error in xplane, you could just move this whole thread out of the CRJ subforums. ?! for the fun of it checked my log.txt. quite some scenery errors; but I wouldn't know where to get started my experience: built one own scenery, converted and edited lots of MSFS stuff. So if there's a thread and I can be of help - sure I will, too. xLog.txt
  8. Steven, dpny also got correct. "Xmapped file ran out of memory" is exactly that: too much stress on the 32-bit system, because it can only adress 3gig. reply#8 refered to my post (#5) P.S.: and that scenery stuff is "not nice", too, but the problem will occur with perfect sceneries, too. karma down is not nice for giving a precise information - but what the heck, do whatever you feel like. P.P.S. @Phillip (next post): That was my intention two posts above.
  9. that's it. setting to 1013 solves issue. thx
  10. people, see reply#8: it's identified and solved.
  11. tutorial settings in the first screenshots, the last one with downloaded metar: 1021
  12. you say I have to set it after -> battery on -> set landing alt @2600? as a first thing to do? ok, i'll try! I did what the tutorial says and set it to Valencia alt. (the screens are from cold and dark right after launching xplane) EDIT: nope, won't help. I'll re-read the manual and tutorial....
  13. well, I'd also say you push the plane too much to its limits. The more you get to the redlining warning for speeds, the more the plane tries to keep stable (try straight and level and give power: it's going to climb pretty soon, very early before the red lines, not when you are at them or crossed them). I only did the tutorial flight now, but did not experience unusual AP behaviour. I've seen worse in other planes (that I don't remember, because that's some time ago).
  14. here's what happens: "my" CRJ does not read the altitude correctly.
  15. you ran out of memory, your general settings are too high to run such a scenery. happens a lot for me, too, as long as xplane stays 32bit. my rant: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1747.0 :(
  16. from cold and dark it did not work. also does not work now (on the ramp since 15 minutes; also tried depressurizing)
  17. Apart from that I am guilty from not reading the manual for 2 weeks (been flying the Dash), I have a not so serious issue now initially: When opening the door (and cockpit emergency exit) it will always "snap back" instantly. No matter when I leave the mouse button - snap - doors closed again. I just hope that behaviour won't interfere with anything else in the plane. However I already found I better leave my Saitek Switch Panel untouched when using the CRJ. no problem, I know there are many different datarefs in use. But when fiddling around the first time, exploring the plane, xplane crashed. I am sure it was related to heavy button pushing on the Saitek Switch Panel. Any idea on the door issue welcome; meanwhile I proceed in learning the more serious stuff about this plane. --- P.S.: maybe related: when using pilotview (I start xplane with it beeing disabled, then enable it when necessary), the views will also stangely "snap" into different positions. normal panning and scrolling not possible.
  18. those poor mothers today with their sons completely occupied with a flight sim! congratulations on getting the bird out of his cage. the price exactly as I predicted - pretty fair. downloading now (just returned from my mothers home *g*)
  19. There's interesting stuff for Australia: http://web.me.com/broberts03/Scenery/Scenery/Entries/2011/1/23_Aussie_Scenery_Packages.html http://www.hatsuon.net/sydneyscenery.html http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=6507 I'm sure the Aussies in this forum will have more.
  20. try it. the KLN works fine for me on various planes, though I did not try the Mentor with it yet myself. But you can't break anything. The KLN is easily removable.
  21. I don't know, but the author says developers should contact him if they want to integrate it. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=51731
  22. I fell in love with the Bendix KLN 90B GPS. Developers, use it in your cockpits instead of the the default Garmin!
  23. This is incredible. It's amazing, very cool GPS!
