  1. Off topic ... yeah, BF4 isn't really an X-Plane related thing, I thought it was more related to engine/computers and configurations than the game itself. Anyway, of course as a true expert in the matter, you would need that pile of details, which I am not able to give you It is just this sim for example, max settings, AA etc, over big city with a very detailed model. I don't know what happens behind the scenes but in this situation ( not a screenshot of mine but same ), I got around 93 FPS : http://www.gamersglobal.de/sites/gamersglobal.de/files/galerie/7178/DCS%20UH-1%20Huey-13.jpg And my CPU and GPU both runs around 77%, which is more plausible that why I saw in XP. I just noticed I can reach the high 60FPS in XP10 with everything maxed out except AA and Shadows... with those to max I drop like above to around 7 FPS, this is why I said ( yes maybe a pretty naive comment ) that there was room for optimization here
  2. Yes Andras, I have much respect for what you are producing for the community, and I have in no way the pretention to say I have knowledge in that area ... I just show the facts here, and it is a bit hard to realise you have put a lot of hard work into a machine that was meant to run this sim flawlessly while it isn't ... Other apps in comparison never runs below 90FPS average ( I mean simulators here like DCS, IL-2 etc... which have a much older engine than X-Plane 10 ) Am I wrong ?
  3. Yes Jim, but without entering into details, X-Plane has a huge problem regarding optimisation etc... Please see that No comments ...
  4. Absolutely amazing Awal, you should deserve the most talented freeware developer prize, as I never see such freewares with such a high quality ! Loved your Baron 58, Tomahowk and Piper, and this one will be a blast as well, no doubt about it
  5. Harris, I want to tell you I love all of your videos, I love the spirir behind it and, I don't know how, you seem to make me enjoy X-Plane much more ! Thanks for all dude
  6. You are hurting me John, I really want to fly in that ASAP !!!
  7. Oh yeah, and just in case you wish to see my first Titan, the ZOTAC one, here is the pic I took back in July when I received the big package I hope I solved your interrogations now
  8. He he you are really disappointing me. Yes I have the fastest CPU on earth ( not any more with the 4960... ) and the fastest GPU too ( not any more too because of the 780Ti ... but ! ) SO WHAT ? What do you conclude I say false things ? I had the ZOTAC Titan AMP! Edition and I saw the Gigabyte OC Windforce 3X version was a tad more powerful so I exchanged it and now I have that Gigabyte OverClocked 6GO version with the super Windforce cooling fans http://videocardz.com/images/2013/06/GIGABYTE-GTX-TITAN-WindForce-450W.jpg and now I'm about to swap it for a 780Ti soon and my i7 3970X for the latest i7 4960X ... I will never let my top config get old Here is the actual Titan mounted on my rig, and if you still don't believe me, here two photos of the package and the default nVidia bad cooling system un-mounted Regarding X-Plane settings now, I have everything maxed up, extreme res etc... the only two parameters that are causing me UN-satisfaction is not global shadow and not full AA, everything else is up to max, and 35FPS average, 85 over normal areas and high 20 over NYC Cheers
  9. Hey Kallinen, I would love you make a head up about your Titan results in the sim, we seems to be the only two Titan owners over here and I personally thing the results I have in sim are a bit disappointing. I'm selling my Titan OC to the brand new 780Ti oc, which is faster than the Titan for less bucks. I'm just curious. And convinced X-Plane engine has a room of improvement regarding optimization by the size of a football field
  10. No LA it's always useful to ask ! As english is not my main language I have often hard times trying to express what I really mean... Anyway, I just said that for example, when in level flight at cruise speed, applying full left aileron will have in real life a much more quick and big roll movement than what it does in-sim. I have never flown any King Air but even their C152 which I know well IRL suffers from that, and I have the same " low control travel " feeling with any of them. Others add ons or default feels right to me regarding handling at least. This is why I increased the values in ° for control surface deflections in PM Hope I answered
  11. Hey Mario, I'm not a C90 expert but all switch are functional ( not sure if all of them works but features such overspeed gov test etc are useless in sim ). I like this idea as if a real pilot use it as a training aid, it still can follow real world checklist and click those maybe dummy switches. The fuel system looks to be fully operational, same for autopilot and nav systems, as well as de-ice systems. Regarding Avidyne, I posted below shots of all of its page, nothing really interesting I would say but it is here ! It features an integrated TCAS system, and display all AI flying around ( you won't see them in those screens as I didn't loaded any AI planes ). About the " Radar ", don't know if it's a Weather radar or just the display of traffic nearby in a better size than main page. For flight dynamics, as usual, Carenado made the choice to have very easy planes to handle, and so is looking for that " fly on rails " behavior... this is why I had to add almost ten degrees of control surface deflections in PM for almost all controls ... Overall, the 3D and texture is top notch, as we're always used to, but I would add on this last plane they put a particular effort on everything ... circuit breaker panel isn't just a blurry texture but all breakers are in 3D and text is crystal clear. Night light effect is dramatic ! Custom coded strobe lights, really nice from external views. All parts are accurately modeled ( landing gear, flaps, trim tabs, prop blades etc etc ) and reflections on the spinner are always breathtaking !
  12. Yes Kris I 100% agree with you, Carenado keeps raising the bar and so Daniel Klaue is doing his best ! I agree with you with the systems, about everything works like it should, at least what needs to be done in a sim ! Avidyne, fuel system etc etc I flew it all night long now I'm so tired you can't even imagine ... I haven't had so much pleasure in X-Plane for a while to be honest !
  13. I'm glad of reading you Olivier, I'm in the same philosophy as yours and I personally things it's A good one ! If I fail the Army I'll ai the civil, but I really know that no one even consider you without a CPL/IR and 200-300 hours ... This is why I'll start glider towing next season on Rallye and probably para dropping from the mighty Porter. Starting with such nice fun jobs will rise hours quickly and freely ... But I think there isn't a single recipe for success, except being extremely motivated and not afraid of going toward operators, not sending CVs and waiting for answer ... Good luck to ya dude
  14. The King Air is about to be released. I would say within 2 days, let's start estimation guys, just for fun !
  15. Dreamengine is the best thing I ever heard til now
  16. Regarding real world airplanes mines are Boeing B-17F, Bell UH-1 Huey and Pilatus PC-6/B2-H2
  17. So please pollute your own threads and rant about what you do not think is " good for you " in life, elsewhere Thanks
  18. Dude, I'm unsure who is arrogant here ... Anyway, I'm tired every threads always enter into spin like this. I want it to discuss about King Airs and Carenados, not where you learn to fly nor how much your test costs, I just don't care
  19. I agree with you Ntr09... I never use any stock Carenado anymore " out of the box " ... they have to pass in the Plane Maker customization house before I really use them ... Working on any Carenado on 1h30-2h ( flight tests included ) is generally enough to get a plane that flies like the real thing. Most of the time, I have to edit control surfaces deflection values, as well as ratio of control surface over wing chord... sometimes it's airfoils , sometimes it's settings related to overall airframe inertia, Cx, wing incidence etc ... it really depends on the plane. But now, I can't pretend to be certified on the real C208 for instance, but what I did in PM gave me a more " realistic " feel that what came out of the box initially .. for example, with 90% of the aileron travel, it generally makes the plane roll quite a lot ! while in default planes, it's like if the whole flight model was " calmed down " by some unvisible rails, giving incredible slow roll rate. I'm convinced they know how the real thing behaves, but the initials settings are probably made to satisfy most of the people with " on rails " flight behaviors ... You know, a real GA plane is NOT easy to fly when you want to make all maneuvers done the right way and precisely... it could be frustrating for simmers to take time to really learn the " behind the scene " effects that makes a real airplane not so easy to fly as it sounds to be ... So, I assume picking up a plane and fly around to enjoy sceneries for example is the purpose of these very eye candy planes ! Then, as I said, when correctly re-worked in PM, they can become real training material ... at least regarding flight dynamics ! Nothing worth a deep Gizmo-ed/SASL-ed powered systems... but if they would work as much on any of their convertion we would see a Carenado every year... while we got a lot of more ! In a nutschell, I would say it's the good compromise they found
  20. Absolutely Kris ! Would love every turboprop of that kind to come out ... even B1900 !
  21. Finally, I've been dreaming for that to happen for ages ... they are converting their FS version to X-Plane ! This sleek, fast PT6 powered turboprop will be a must have I'm sure, with very good performances at mid-high altitudes, IFR equipped, complete AP etc ... It will be a nice complement to the excellent stock one Tom Kyler has done for X-Plane 10 I think this Carenado is my most wanted one, as with the C208 ! ( Images from their Facebook page >>> https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.538615599548592.1073741875.129839447092878&type=1 ) Top notch quality graphics as usual , the sounds should be nice too ! I hope the systems will be simulated enough to be enjoyable !
  22. Do you want to die ? ahah
  23. Yeah that is so true ! Don't give up please, this one is much more needed than any great plane add on out there ... because it does not improve the realism of a single very $$$ alone file but the immersion of the whole X-Plane world ! I can't believe what I read I was really hoping we were April 1st but we're not ;-( ;-(
