MM, I believe it's the city wher Theo live !
-
Lol Andy, I see you got like me, a Warthog ^^
-
Thanks guys !! Today, the Chimney got some more stuff, those tubes are really a pain to do, it takes time as I don't know yet every tips that Blender can offer so, I did all " by hand "..

Man, you won't start the debate again, this is PLAUSIBLE, not realistic, if you want your YSSY APT, find a custom scenery ;-)

Hello ladies and guys, how are you ? I'm proud to introduce here on that lovely place that is X-Pilot, my new ( and very first ) thing for X-Plane, in fact, my very first thing I ever create on a computer. I've started learning Blender three weeks ago. Some day, I'm wondering myself if someone ever make a scenery of infamous V.I Lenin, mostly known as Chernobyl NPP.. And no, not in X-Plane at least, FSX got some medium quality one... So, I decided to give me a try. That area totally scares and frighten me, but it's fascinating at the same time, knowing that the region will be empty of human threat for many thousands of years, when I see all that vegetation and those rare animal species, I say my self " Wow, at least, those innocent one will leave in peace without human madness ! " Anyway, this will be a big scenery pack, I wish to include of course the Nuclear Power Plant itself, the nearby city of Pripyat, the Vehicle Graveyard, the Red Forest, the Russian Woodpecker.. anything in " The Zone of Alienation " the officially prohibited zone, highly radioactive in some place, that some people will go in to steal some .. magic things ( this is S.T.A.L.K.E.R ;-) ) I hope that large project will take me about one year or so. I wish to make it payware, cause my 2009 laptop is very outdated now, I run X-Plane 9 at medium-low setting at max 25-30 FPS,and XP10 9 FPS max without anything .. so, I wish to buy ( and built ) me the fastest computer avaible at the time I'll release that scenery, to take all benefits of X-Plane 10, 11, 12 and all other great sims ( DCS : Blackshark, IL2 Birds Of Prey ( when it'll be stable ), Silent Hunter V etc.. ). I hope that community will be interested a bit in this project, I know it's kinda strange choice, not happy at all, but it's the real life, and it will be a great place to explore in X-Plane world, a good argument to fly heading to Russia. I start with the original Power Plant, before '86 accident, when the Sarcophagus wasn't and people of Pripyat were happy and healthy .. I'll start the bad things later, when I'll completely finnish the NPP. Valentin

Happy Holliday Goran ! Hope the DC-3 will rule the skies soon ;-)

Yes... all I won is Three more negative votes, thanks people. Anyway, I know they will be SEVERAL Huey in the time to come, not only " mysterious dev " one ;-)
-
Yeah Flyer , That's good ! Good ?! No, I'd rather say fantastic. I just would like that people voted " No " explain briefly why .. Almost all good helicopters for X-Plane are modern one ( BK-117, EC-135,MD-902,R-22 .. ) We can't have just last gen helicopters, with glass cockpit, zero vibration and totally flight assisted.. And the Huey is not just one among others.... So, give me your arguments ^^
-
Lol, Aerosoft will only sell his " X-Planized " Beaver for former MSFS user, who still don't believe that many X-Plane devs are better than MSFS ..LOL
-
I really want to see the exterior, never see any pics since the first Blender renders.
-
Yes ! We're really interested in it cause it's like the DC-3, for me, those planes are from the golden age of aviation, beautiful mechanic and shape, legendary sound etc... It'll be a masterpiece...

As a former MSFS user, I find that X-Plane has a pretty good engine compression/prop interaction, we really feel there are a crankshaft and pistons behind that, just try stop an engine in X-Plane and in FS to see the difference.. In FS, when you kill the engine, you have a pre recorded ammount of time that the prop will spin, by it's own inertia ( I'm in the case of a ground shutdown, no wind ), the prop will slow down, then promply STOP, like if it has hit the ground or something that stopped it instantly. Moreover, except very good adds on like accusims, we don't feel the compression at start, the engine RPM just go high with starter, like if the prop was totally free. In X-Plane, if you set the good parameters in Plane Maker ( prop weight so Inertia, starter strenght etc.. you'll have a visually realistic startup, with props going slowly until the engine fires up ( like the XPFR B-17 G ). And it's the same for shutdown, we clearly see the prop slow quick just when the engine is in it compression cycle, then , when the piston is " released " you see that the prop turn a bit faster, all that until all stop. Of course, a such good system have its drawbacks, the prop are almost always moving, even on the ground with all cold and dark, I think it's because all the maths which runs behind the scene, the prop is affected by everything, the wind, how the engine is now ( T°C, oil pressure etc.. ) It's like turbine helicopter in X-P, they never stop, even with rotorbrake, until you set a clutch in PM and disengaging the clutch, so they stop. To come back to that feathering thing, the best test to set the good feather angle in PM is, set a free turbine in PM, so you have no more compression, the propeller is almost free and windmill very fast , like a wind turbine. Then, fly the ACFT in straight forward flight, at cruise speed. Kill the desired engine ( if they are several ) and feather the prop. Watch how the prop is going, or she will slow down but continue to spin slowly, or they will slow down the turning in the opposite direction. Those both case mean that the angle is not the best feathering angle. You have to tweak that angle until the PROP don't turn AT ALL, it could take time, it's something more precise that 0.0 degree. On the B-17, I set 80.4 °, and it turned sometimes one compression right, but when I put 80,5 °, it turn left .. we would need a 0.00 degree precision , that is not possible in real ACFT.. So why the real one don't spin ( I mean piston ) Because the compression is too strong to allow it. Only on weak engine, the prop could turn 1 round sometimes.. but try to feather a big radial engine like the B-17 one and see if the prop turn by itself when it was stopped.. no. For example, when the ground crew make those big Hamilton turning to " dégommer " the engine before start ( Don't know the english world, in cold weather, they turn the prop by hand to allow the oil to come into cylinder, before hitting the starter ) so it require several arms and hands, the torque quite consequent.

Hey it's James Hetfield from Metallica !! More seriously, the props on this wonderful LES Duchess doesn't VISUALLY move according to their pitch angle. Try to tick the box corresponding to " prop pitch " in " input and output " menu of X-Plane during a flight, and move the prop RPM lever, you'll see the values are changing, but visually nothing. You can check if the blade angle comes down to 81°, but they still windmill a lot. My personnal clue : I've modified that for any ACF I love in X-P. In the B-17 G, the prop , when feathered, continued to windmill, because their angle is not good against the relative wind. If I remember well, I changed the default 89,0 ° value to 80,4 ° and the propeller never windmill again. Didn't tried that yet in the Duchess but I'll. Goran : I hope to see in the DC-3, a fully realistic feather and overall prop management, both in systems and visually ;-) Good luck boys !!

This is the only Huey I found around, project which was never finished. There was also the Pip's Huey. I don't know who are the mysterious developers that currently make a payware Huey, I'm hurry to know more about it , " as time progresses .. "
-
Impressive .. So neat and clean for such vintage gauges... So we could expect an eventual release for around christmas, maybe a bit later ( early january ? )
-
Very clean and precise modelling & textureing, great job !! I'm impatient to see how the exterior look Kee up the good work !
-
" But all will be explained later. " Any news 5 months later ? I really looking for that one. My best anticipating release are : Fixed wing : 1 : LES DC-3 2: DHC-2 by Pete 3 : This DHC-6 ! Rotary : The Huey, made by mistery people ;-) The Bell 47 by Propsman

a single word : IMPRESSIVE !
-
Wow 15 years old ?! Man I'm 17 and just started learning Blender, what will you do when 25 ? Lol great progress.
-
Really impressed too .. such fast progress with a such beautiful model ... Speechless. Just to be " annoying ", again about the prop. I like you " corrected " the white stripes. But I have the impression the pitch angle is really flat. I know on that prop there aren't as pitch as a BF 109 but it's almost flat isn't it ? Except those " nothing details " I don"t see any bad point, will definitely be a masterpiece ! And the fact that I've saw the " Jim the pilot " videos make me even more excited about !
