I think it would be a good V8 era freeware The price is still very low, but ... well, no one is forced to buy it anyway ;-)

X-Plane is so disapointing when it comes to performances, even with fastest components to date ;-( ... But yes, you will still have great performances, as long as you know how to play with sliders, especially clouds, AA and shadows ...

They are clowns, but I feel bad for them when I imagine myself at their place, watching the best turboprop ever made for X-Plane not making them any money ... What are you looking for actually ? From what I heard the x737 is quite advanced in a systems point of view ... if the only thing you worship is a great VC there are the ATR And yes there is nothing wrong in a commercial point of view, but I'm afraid it would degrade XP's realism reputation on the long run ... Anyway, I agree with you on some points, and you too with me ! then we can't all be on the same wavelenght, that's life ;-) Happy flights mate

I really respect your choices dude, but saying the ATR 72 is " good " ... It is beautiful yes, but I never saw such a simplified plane in current X-Plane releases ... any Piper J3 pilot can easily fly the ATR, as even not 10% of the systems are simulated, and moreover they are relying on X-Plane defaults system ... I think the perfect example of an advanced planed nowadays are the CRJ200, Felis An-24 and Yak 40, LES 340A ( from what I heard I do NOT own it ) and BAe Jet Stream ( love this one Japo ! ) ... I am sorry and I must admit I am not an airliner expert at all, so can't tell anything about 777,A320 etc but they have good reputation. The only thing I see is that top notch aircrafts are for the moment placarded to the airliners... sadly too few well simulated helicopters, GA planes or turboprops. What I hate is that people thinks only the big elephants ( heavies ... ) deserve a full simulation of all systems etc... you know, A2A is doing an awesome job on the mythic and so simple C172, but they did hard work to do so ... every plane is complex in a sense, and the simple fact to correctly model a squawkbox or radio behavior under certain circumstances, or a proper electrical circuit of some old school plane, or even the complex management of turbocharged radial engines ... can require tremendous high skills ... Carenado is doing great stuff, but as I always say they want to satisfy the large public audience ( Cameron if you read me, you know what thread I'm refering to ... ) and it works very well as they are ubiquitous nowadays ( who here do not own at least one of their product ? personally I got them all ! )... They are finely modeled and textured, got really seducing sounds and some exclusive features but IMHO they miss the " system " side of the thing ... It is not a critic as the majority of the community seems to be pleased, and I can always tune them to my taste under plane maker ( a great luck we have is that X-Plane is easily customisable ) One of the main constraint we have to accept when we switch from something to X-Plane ( generally FS to X-Plane ) is the fact that things are really really slow ... The community is so small and so moving forward a pain ... The day where every categories ( GA, Heavy Metal, Commuter Jets, Regional Turboprops, Helicopters, Autogyros, Ultra Light, Gliders, Acrobatic acfts etc ) will be filled with 10 high quality products per category is sadly very very far ... In front of that we have FS, which as sometimes several versions of the exact same plane, so the customer can even choose ... And when it works even some planes are re-made from scratch years after their launch to satisfy the always demanding market, like the fabulous Aerosoft Twin Otter " Extended " ( which I'm praying to come to FS ! )

Ah la la they are so many in love with FMS, you'll have to make a -B variant some time in the years to come ;-)

What " YOU " need you meant I admit I never understood the fascination of people to fully computerized airliners ... but real piloting, I mean in real life are done in small plane or twin regional turboprops ... Have you ever wondered why real life airline pilot are soaring gliders and doing flight aerobatics over the week end ? To keep a good feeling about piloting, cause during the week they are only programming FMC ... Anyway, it's a matter of taste but you got the 777,CRJ200,A320,747, incoming IXEG 737, EADT 737 and much more I forgot, that are complex airliners, and we have only the BAe, Q400 and the Saab ... We are X-Plane, not FS, so maybe we should balance the aircrafts per category instead of filling teh airliner category and leaving others empty ... Especially as turboprops holds a very important place in real world aviation !

This is where you don't take time to read the member's posts I never said it do not sells well at all ! I said not many people will be able to fully use all its functionality okay ? Buy a product and know how to use it are two completely different things. I can buy an oscilloscope, is that means I know how to use all its functionalities ? No, but it's something that attracts me much, so I bought it, to finally realize it is not for me as it require tremendous professional scientific knowledge to be used correctly ( it's an example do not nitpick with that ) Now, sorry for the off-topic, the matter is closed for me, you may agree or not but the facts are that not many people are able to operate a Boeing 737-300 out of the box, and reading the different manuals, with a total pages of maybe 2000+ page ( and understand it and be able to apply procedures ... ) is really the minimum requirements, as well as learning all navigation stuff, air rules, weather etc Thanks

Why being so sarcastic Cameron ? You are a PPL student aren't you ? You know even that little qualification require some serious work on some parts ( meteorology, navigation, air rules etc ... ) so please be neutral and admit being the PiC of such ship is not given to everyone I did not say it would not sell well, but how many PMDG users are actually using all the functionalities of their beloved product ? and now, how many are just taking her up in the air for a simple flight, using only minimum plane system ... If you don't want to hear that that is your privilege but that is life ... you can see other FS forums that many dudes are overwhelmed by the complexity of those ships, and in a way " surrender " and choose to only fly from time to time, simple patterns ... Obviously on the other side you got a bunch of hardcore simmers that are as professional as the 25 000+ hours about to be retired airline pilot ...

Hey Tom ! Really, what you said and show us here really makes me angry and want to cry, I'm so desperate ... Because, I'm a GA and Helicopter kind of guy, loving the pure feeling of flying VFR and sometimes IFR ... but with your work IXEG, you will force me to deeply learn the 737 systems, and that is torture ( I know what I mean I am about half of the 650+ pages manual of the DCS A-10C Warthog ... ) That is torture and you leave us no option, but reading your ( probably ) 1000+ page manual Lol, in a more serious way, the real risk is that 80% of the people won't be able to operate it as it should ... do you know why real ATPLs got 14 modules and such a hard way to get their qualifications etc ? Simply because it is not given to everyone, I would say a kind of natural selection ... In real life, you have to be extremely motivated and kinda rich, after working hard for months to years to get your theoric ATPL, to pass the practical training ... In sim you have to have LOTS OF time to spent, and try to be as professional as real crews ... I really hope you will include some easy mode for dummies, or this one will really frustrate many " sunday simmers " ... Great work, I'm really amazed by the 3D and texture ( that's the only thing we see for now )

You know, that may seems stupid but for me, that kinf of add ons are the one I anticipate the most, because even if you got the greatest scenery or plane ... nothing worth a realistic sky to fly throug ! I would love someone to do a light sound environnement plugin, to add natural sound according to where you are : in the middle of the city, over highways, some klaxon and fast cars sound, same for trains etc, airport could get so much busier with sounds, as well as peaceful nature sound in the forest etc ... Anyway, SkyMAXX Pro is the only real add on I'm looking for !

I hope so ! I will buy it anyway, wherever it's sold
