Ok, did some more testing with both Visual RWC's on Always and it works fine. Did the same flight as yesterday with almost identical weather conditions and now I left the cloud system behind on my way to Paso Roble. When making a 180 I clearly saw the clouds behind me. I guess we can conclude that it is working as it should. I also checked the METAR.rwx files; they were still not updated on the visual PC's but I did see MAXX_METAR (I forgot the exact name......) files which actually were updated. I gues these files are identical as the METAR.rwx but specifically for RWC operation? Thanks for your help, I will need to do some more flying now to gain some more experience and find the best settings for my sim.

Frank, I still own you an answer to your question on this issue. Unfortunately there were some small activation issues of RWC on one of the visual PC's in my sim which prevented me to look into this earlier. Now this item is solved I did some testing this evening: RWC installed on both visuals, and both on AUTO. I have set the weather on the server PC to Real weather Weather depiction on both visuals almost identical to what is shown in the X-plane weather download screen on the Server PC. It is also identical to what is shown on Foreflight (See attached picture) Flying from KSBP, reporting Marginal VFR, overcast clouds (the magenta Dot in the lower part of the picture) to Paso Roble, reporting VFR (the green dot). When I am halfway the overcast layer disappears and I see VFR conditions, turning back to San Luis the overcast layer pops in again. I would expect that I see the overcast layer behind me when I travel towards Paso Roble. The METAR.rwx files on both Visual PC's are not updated while the one on the Server PC is of actual date and time. Hope this helps! If you need me to do other tests please don't hesitate to ask. Best regards, Lisette

Thanks for the tip but let me first follow the official procedure by issueing a ticket at X-Aviation.

Frank, I installed RWC on both visual 1 & 2 PC´s One of the PC´s gives me the following error when I am trying to activate the RWC installation (the other is fine): <MyMailadres> Apparent OS or Hardware install. I can continue from here but on this PC RWC is not showing up in the Skymaxx plugin menu If we can solve this issue I will do the tests you asked for and post the results here in the forum. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for your answer. I will do this most probably not earlier then wednesday and post here with the results.

I am running a simulator setup as well through networked computers. The attached picture shows the architecture of the Sim. Currenlty I use SkyMaxx as follows: - On the SERVER I run a Minimalistic version of X-plane that interfaces with all external hardware. It also has an extra monitor serving as a kind of IOS. - In this X-plane version I normally set the weather through the default x-plane dialogue window, can be real weather or custom weather conditions. - this weather setting is then automatically sent to both visuals 1&2 and SkyMaxx gives a pretty perfect representation of this weather conditions on both visuals and in Sync! Now I want to integrate Real Weather Connector into this picture and of course I have read the threads in this forum but still I am feeling unsure as to how to configure and where to install what software. - what I understood unitl now is that I need to install the latest SkyMaxx 3.1.2 on both Visuals (actually that has been done and working great) - Then I need to install RWC on both visual computers and configure it correctly. Question(s): - Do I need to install RWC on the server PC as well? - How to configure the various RWC installations? - Can I control the weather as usual through the default x-plane weather dialogue window? - Or is the operation of RWC on both Visuals completely independed from the SERVER PC (e.g. are they accessing internet themselves?) I'm sorry if I asking questions already being asked somewhere else, but I hop that someone can shed some light on this. Thanks in advance

very nice update indeed, thanks for the hard work. Skymaxx is getting better at each release. Just did some testing and it's performance is great, especially the landing lights illuminating the clouds is a fantastic feature increasing the ambiance when penetrating clouds. Can't wait for the Real Wheather Connector..........

Hi Guys, I hope someone can help me with the following question: I am building a home cockpit flight simulator that is interfaced to 3 computers, 2 for the outside views (1 PC is master) end 1 PC that runs all the instrument software e.g. EFIS panel builder and XHSI. This PC also runs SIOC that interfaces with all the annunciators, switches etc. All works fine but today I was strugling with the engine fire annunciations and extinguishers. I have set it up to work as follows: When an engine fire occurs SIOC reads this through a dataref (UIPCX) for the internal X-plane annunicator and switches ON the Fire warning light in the cockpit ( in fact it is a lighted pushbutton switch). In this situation when I press the Fire warning pushbutton switch the light goes out AND the bottle is emptied through the fire extinguisher dataref. This all works great as long as the instrument panel of the aircraft is in view???!!! When I switch to "view with nothing" (which I want of course as I'm in a flight simulator) the extinguishing command from the pushbutton switch is not processed by X-plane. Only when I switch to panel view (W key) I can fire the bottles....... I noted that it is not aircraft depended as I tried a different aircraft type and get identical behaviour. Is there anyone here who has a clue as to what is happening here? Regards, Lizz

Hi Guys, Just received my second X-plane PC to be used as a master for the visuals. The GPU is a MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB Windows 7 All drivers are installed already but I would like to know what the best driver for this card is at the moment? Any advice??

Hi guys, thanks for the answers, it really helps! Looks like I'm on the right path

Hi Guys, I'm seeking for some advice here: For my home build simulator project I'm gonna use two networked PC's running x-plane for the visuals, these PC's are connected to 2 HD projectors. One of the X-Plane PC's I already use for a few years now, it has fairly good specs': i7-3930K processor@3.8 GHz, ASUS P9X79 MoBo, 16 GB mem, AMD Radeon HD7970 VideoCard and it runs somewhere around 30FPS in average. The new Computer will be connected to the existing one with a network and one of them will be the master. I'm currenly shopping around for this new PC and found the following (possible) configuration suitable (see below): Question I have is the following: what happens in a config where 2 X-plane PC's work in a master/slave configuration where one of the PC's is considerable faster then the other. I assume that the fastest PC will be slowed down by the slower one. So in my setup it would make no sense to invest a lot of money in a very fast new PC when it is hold up by the older slower one. Is this assumption true? And wouldn't it therefore be better to choose a config for the new PC that is more similair to the old one? Hi martin, Nice project..... In our museum for flight simulation in holland we have a real retired CAE full A310 flightsimulator that is currently brought back to life although we had to remove the motion system. If you require pictures or other details just let me know. You can have a look at www.vluchtsimulatie.nl Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Hi Uwespeed,
I tried it with the Carenado Baron and it's remarkable how much control you have with the throttles only. I could fly the approach but the landing itself was not exactly a walk away.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the information. I will try this as soon as I'm finished modelling all of my objects and start defining the lights. Regards, Lizz
