  1. I fail to understand how any of Cameron's email replies to him, and actions, could be in any way construed as unprofessional or rude. Seems to me he received better customer service than many High Street shops give.
  2. Thanks Leen, I was wondering why people kept saying they saw frozen frogs. I was beginning to wonder if it meant props still-but-not-blurred, or something. Now I know the real reason. thanks
  3. You see "frozen frogs" in every one of your posts. Have you seen an optometrist yet? Here's a lovely example of Leen's Robin (though it might appear as a large frozen frog to those who need their eyes tested) ;D
  4. Very nice work. thank you.
  5. Ha ha! I'm picky. Fuzzy bits in front of where you sit is a big deal to me. Don't care if they're not where I can see them! Also, I'm on limited broadband, so not ideal to have to download 290mb twice. Let me know when. Credit card ready. EDIT: Nope. Now I've seen this, I'm putting it away again: "12. Are those blurry black pixels on border of windshield, going to be fixed or removed? I won't buy the plane until then No, they are not going to be removed. They are part of tricks I use to make some stuff never seen in x-plane like rain and ice cleaning." The only fuzzy bits in a cockpit should be these:
  6. Excellent, guys. The cooperation between you is what I was talking about before. Javier, as soon as Rafal's improvements are included, I'll buy the plane. regards nicola
  7. That's not a bug. It's a matter of preference and artistic touch. LOL ;D
  8. Rafal, good work. Javier, would it not be a good idea to ask Rafal for his modified work, so you could perhaps investigate it and add it to the next patch? Instead of just ordering "no sharing." Nils was more than happy to let me share modifications of his BK117 to the greater community - logbook in the cockpit, individual model number on the dashboard manual etc. My appreciation of him went up highly, as he was keen for everyone to have a better experience with his product. Also, finding bugs like Rafal has is what is stopping me buying the CRJ right now. The sooner they are all fixed, then I'll feel comfortable getting my credit card out. regards nicola
  9. That's only Ben having a laugh. I wonder how many rushed to the x-aviation site to check It'd be worrying if he said that and it really had been out and none of us noticed....
  10. I've found a way to redo some of the BK interior. For the Airwork 117, I've changed the seats to grey and added pinstriping and the MBB logo. Pinstriping and re-coloured the rear seats too. Also found a way to get the dome light and exit lights to give a bit more light when lit, by changing them in the interior.png file. Wish I could find a way to add some extra signs to the dash, but it seems to be impossible. Most of these had a "certified for dual ifr ops" plaque if fitted with dual controls. 11. It went for just US$49
  12. It happened very early on a Sunday morning, so the guy who took the video got woken early by a very loud (and close) helicopter outside his window.
  13. I think this qualifies...
  14. I agree with you too, this is a really nice plane to fly. Although I get confused about which switch to press to give me autopilot, and then which one gives me approach/landing, but I just look around that cockpit and the detail makes that little foible go away.... which is just as well, because usually I somehow manage to disconnect autopilot and have to hand-fly it in instead! It seems to be a challenging bird to land, with a learning curve, but still enjoyable. It'll be interesting to compare to the Saab, which is apparently challenging too. I feel like finally we're getting planes of the quality xplane has desperately needed for so long.
  15. Riviere's also got a CRJ on the org as well, but it's the extra, extra, EXTRA, very-light lite diet (ie anaemic) version of Javier's. Maybe it was his manual you got?? ;D
  16. Dash 8 at EGKL
  17. I'm getting about 25fps on a laptop with a 256mb card. Dell XPS M1710 2.1 dual core, 4gb ram, 256 Nvidia 7900GS.
  18. Found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BK-117-Helicopter-Training-Flight-control-Manual-B-1-/230611549639?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible&hash=item35b184fdc7 Postage too high to buy outside the States, but our US cousins may be interested in a bit of history for silly money.
  19. Fantastic plane Jack. Really impressive for a first release.
  20. For anyone who wants to make their own BK liveries, I've included a Utility Pack which contains some of the logos from that period. Download from http://www.mediafire.com/?778qx524960cl77 Size is 554kb (tiny).
  21. Several ways. Either start at CYYC Calgary and travel the 5 miles on 078deg to YYC VOR and then travel 85nm on heading 185deg, where you then need to look around. Or you can cheat and just put the heli where mine is on the map. The mountain shows up as pure white at night time, so just adjust Date/Time to night and it'll be fairly obvious. Then change back to daytime and carry on. Hey, UH60, I just realised you're in the land of the BK117 owner! Congrats. How are you finding it?
  22. Rescuing wet people
  23. Not what, but where..... (I'm the little dot in all that white.)
  24. It's Alberta Scenery by CDN 791M "over there." It's in beta and should be out soon. It's out now: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13308 It's out now: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13308
  25. Wow, this is brilliant news, Cameron, Javier and all. With the B17G, Dash 8 and Saab A340 coming, and now the CRJ, at last 2011's turning out to be an exciting time for really high quality 3D-cockpit aircraft.
