  4. Thirty-one years later, the S-01 lives again....
  5. Christmas came early Small joy for others, compared to say getting a new pc, but I just found the missing picture showing the side of my most-wanted livery - S-01, the pre-production BK117. Now I can actually see the sides, I can finally create the livery. Yes, I could've asked Eurocopter but I don't like to pester them. So I'm glad that trawling the internet has finally paid off after all these months. I feel like my Christmas just came early.

File Name: COLANI'S SPACESHIP File Submitter: Nicola_M File Submitted: 18 Aug 2012 File Category: Helicopters X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Livery For: Click Here For Aircraft BK117 livery CN 7017 COLANI'S SPACESHIP - EXCLUSIVE TO X-PILOT.COM Repaint for Nils Danielsson's excellent payware MBB BK-117. Simply unzip the file "COLANI'S SPACESHIP" into your xplane/aircraft/helicopters/bk117/liveries folder. In the early days of the BK117, MBB contracted well-known designers of the day to create eye-catching designs to highlight and advertise the BK117 at various trade fairs and airshows. In 1986 taking the BK117's sales slogan of Space ship (the ship with roominess), Luigi Colani created his now-famous livery, "Colani's Spaceship," to coincide with Halley's Comet which was visible that year. The aircraft was exhibited at the Farnborough Airshow from 2nd-9th September 1984 in its factory paint, and as Colani's Spaceship from 31st August to 7th September 1986, before the aircraft was sold and the livery lost for good. Of note, before Colani painted it, 7017's first role was as testbed for High Temperature Tests, carried out in Khartoum from May 1st to 12th 1983. Click here to download this file

  10. You're welcome. I read this only just recently when Chip n Simon recapped on the progress of xp10 so far, and about things not working in one revision, yet worked in the one before. For all the progress they've made with xp10 they're still ironing out bugs, so things suddenly not working right is probably more down to the version of xp10 than on the aircraft you're using. It's unfortunately the downside to using xp10, which is still really in its early days. xp9 only really became stable from something like v9.22 or v9.5-something, and even then they were still working on it right up to 9.70.
  11. Over at the blog, Chip n Simon have previously mentioned how one thing works right in one version of xp10 and then doesn't in the next revision. I'd put it down to this, rather than something being wrong with the DC-3.

Thank you for your appreciation, Ru-Ski, and also for your advice re the flag logo and the information about the livery's origin. I've now corrected the right-hand side flag logo, as per your advice.
  13. Keep posting. You've only got 2 posts so of course you're a newbie.

  16. What the hell scenery is that Max? Looks fantastic, all the houses lined up, roundabouts on the roads.
  17. Cool, thanks for that. At least that ties in with it being the VIP variant, so at least I (luckily) got that right. Going by the link you posted, it looks like you're absolutely correct, as the Rising Sun logo is the same as on the heli.
  18. No probs
  19. Thanks Kaphias. Any clues as to what service that heli might be from? Hard to tell if it's a VIP or EMS or what.
  20. Trawling through a forum about my cellphone, I've just discovered that Laminar made a game for mobile devices called Giant Fighting Robots http://www.x-plane.com/mobile/giant-fighting-robots That explains the weird dude making robot dinosaurs etc. Oh well, that's my useless discovery for the day......

  22. There is a checklist within the main B17 folder. If you have it correctly installed, follow this path: file:///C:/Documents and Settings/user/Desktop/X-Plane 9/Aircraft/Heavy Metal/B17G_V1.0/MANUAL/checklist_en.html Hope that helps
