  1. And I don't really care about you "Disagreeing" with a post when someone tries to give you some help and encouragement.
  2. Strange. Can't find that anywhere on your profile...... Is there a particular reason why you come across as obnoxious, when people are only trying to help? You were beyond lucky to find SwissCyul prepared to use his own time to have a go at making your repaints. Most people won't, which is why - in the long term - you would go far by learning to do them yourself. It's easy to create some real masterpieces. I started out like you two years ago - hadn't used Photoshop in my life. Well, I've done over 100 repaints since. In two years, that's not bad. I'm just saying, it's not rocket science and it is amazing what you can create. It may not be the livery you began with, but you will always turn something out every time. And asking someone to do a repaint is a big ask, but if you ask a question about how to do something, members here will rush to your aid with advice and talk you through it.
  3. Well, that's not so bad considering your profile says you're only 5 The reason I suggested trying it yourself is that everyone sucks at repaints until they keep doing them and over time they get better.
  4. Or you could get a copy of Gimp, which is free, and have a stab at it yourself.
  5. Never mind my FPS, just opening that picture slowed my computer down.
  6. I'm fairly sure the level of systems on it will satisfy you. It's definitely not a "one-switch start and off you go" plane.
  7. FloB, I've got the Q400 and yes, it does come with APU and the stairs are modeled and controllable via a panel on the centre console. What also comes modeled is a custom seating-load program where you can set pax/weight. Systems are pretty intense, and things like wing icing are done, and the startup procedure has a number of stages, so I believe it's accurate. I think it's the best of the 9.70 prop heavies. Have a look at the manual for it, and you can see what it's got and what it hasn't. Hope that helps. FJS-Dash_8_Q400_Manual.zip
  8. Not too sure, but I think one or two of them are members here too.
  9. Thankfully I haven't noticed this issue in any of the aircraft I've got - it was only apparent on DMO's S-92. But thank you also for the shiny_rat tip. I've gone through my files and changed the shiny factor from 1.0 to 2.0 so most of my planes and helis now look realistically shiny. Most of them had too little. It's little tips like that which help to improve the experience, so thanks again.
  10. Thanks Leen, I was wrongly trying it on the acf file. I just used Notepad on the obj file of xplane trouble-child, otherwise known as the S-92, and it's worked a treat - the previously grey fuselage now comes out brilliant white. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks for the tip. What text editor did you use? I'm not having any luck with Notepad or Wordpad.
  12. If he has to input a serial number, his keyboard is going to really cause a problem if it's adding lots of extra unwanted keystrokes.
  13. If you can land a heavy in a sim, then you could do so in real life quite capably. If you're not smearing yourself across a runway every day then:: - 1. You already know the layout and where switches are. 2. You already know what speed and height is right, and what is wrong. 3. You already know how how look out of the window and do VFR approaches (we all start off doing them) 4. (advanced) You already know how to do ILS approaches. I'm a heli pilot, but even I can do VFR hand-flown landings on most heavies (I actually prefer it to ILS) and only when I have the time and inclination, I practise ILS approaches and landings. The issue is that even these idiots could not master VFR between them and that's the issue at Asiana. If they couldn't do an ILS, they were up shit creek.
  14. This sheds a bit more light on it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2522000/Asiana-pilot-landing-San-Francisco-stressful-worried-crash.html * Meanwhilst, the captain of the plane has confessed to investigators he felt stressed out and was 'very concerned' about attempting a manual visual approach * A former Boeing 777 foreign captain at Asiana told investigators he found it 'extremely difficult' to get pilots to fly visual approaches, and that they usually wanted to take off rather than land.* it's not unusual for pilots to make a visual approach, using the view through their windshield. [as opposed to using instruments] Looks like they should've employed any of us xplane users. I know I can land an airliner on that runway perfectly well, and I'm a helicopter fan.
  15. Anything with rotors, I'm not picky. But probably BK117 Bell 222 EC145
  16. A pilot would tell birds they're doing it wrong. And if birds were able to argue back, the pilot would tell them to shut up because no one else's opinion is valid.
  17. That's nothing. You still have your tail attached. When you arrive at the gate without it, then you know you pulled up a lot.
  18. The Turd painted and polished up very nicely. Painting shortfalls are more than made up by its fun/difficulty level. I will (eventually) manage to land it in something smaller than Oregon..... I've become a Jedi at getting it to do this....
  19. I like the idea. Only for xp10, but sounds nice. Conex does something similar with his G-Force plugin, but the vibration/shakes for helis is something which is missing.
  20. Howard, it flies great, lovely in fact. My major gripe is I wasted all of yesterday's flying time trying to figure out how to change colours on some things, only to find you can't. I can't for the life of me figure how this thing's paints have been done. For me, an acf has to be customizable, and this one isn't. You're stuck with dayglo rotors and other items that are only applicable to one type. That spoils it for me. Oh and the paintkit sucks. Just spent the last 18 hours solid creating one that isn't "Paint the tail on the donkey."
  21. Well, at least yours left the ground.....
