  1. This was in yesterday's newspaper. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2551452/Germany-company-sells-cockpit-simulator-200-000.html A German company, Cockpit Sonic, is knocking out 737 and A320 home simulators....... for £200K each. According to the website, they run MSFS or XP.
  2. ....... I do hope they're not holding their breath.
  3. You're right, I can't. No more than you couldn't probably tell the differences between a BK117 A-1 and a BK117 B-2. But thank you for pointing out the differences, something that the plethora of Wiki pages re the 737 series fails to do clearly, if at all. Now, that said, if these are two entirely separate aircraft then it becomes clearer why FJS plan to do it.
  4. Last resort being to download. For everything else, I avoid interacting there if I can help it.
  5. Thanks Algie. That must be a change that's specific to xp10.
  6. Okay then. For your benefit: "Oh, how very gracious of you. I have your permission to say how wonderful it is that a different 737 is coming out, but not to say that it's not the greatest decision of late? Thank you SO much. ;)" Spent a bit of time today trying to figure out the differences between a 200 Advanced and a 300 on Wikipedia. Danged if I can see it. The 300 is hardly an NG, so I doubt the differences are going to be that great. Wings - identical. Body - Identical. Seats - Identical. Landing gear - identical. Cockpit - looks the same to me, though a lack of 200 cockpits photos & 300 cockpit photos to compare doesn't help. I'll leave you all to it now. It's getting silly trying to speak when no one understands the combination of vowels and consonants.
  7. Thanks JJZ109. I had the REX clouds but the ones in your pics are so much better. Downloading now. Thx.
  8. Oh, how very gracious of you. I have your permission to say how wonderful it is that a lesser 737 is coming out, but not to say that it's not the greatest decision of late? Thank you SO much.
  9. Where are the clouds from? That second shot looks stunning. If they're for v9, then I need the linky......
  10. Have you met Brett or xDave (aka the org's hospitality directors?)
  11. Nah, he's just telling it how it is. Personally, knowing the state-of-the-art-IXEG-737-that's-gonna-make-everything-else-look-crap is coming out soon (ish), if I was a dev I would've avoided making another 737 for about the next ten years, because no matter what 737 anyone brings out it's going to look shit alongside theirs. Wrongly or rightly, the IXEG one is what it'll be judged against. As a business decision - for that's what it is - bringing out something that's going to be disadvantaged from its announcement, thanks to the poorest timing in the history of mankind - it's suicidal. They should have settled on something else, anything else. I wish FJS well, but I think it'll end in tears.
  12. The aircraft carrier in XP10 is the Nimitz by Khamsin and is very good. To find it, load your aircraft on a coastal (or near coast) airfield. Once loaded, open View/Local Map and somewhere within 3 miles of the coast you should see a familiar aircraft carrier. Just fly to it.
  13. 1.5? eh? Who's releasing half a 737 then?
  14. Hey T50, I think you need to clean your screen.....
  15. Sorry V, looks like I cross-posted while you were typing. I know zip about the differences - I thought they're both 737s? Anyway, I wish them well. Any new plane for xp is good news regardless.
  16. "Crazy" is pitching another 737 into the market when it's going to be up against the definitive IXEG 737. Any other 737 is always going to come second.
  17. So that'll be two 737s now coming? Don't want to sound dismissive, but it's going to be tough being up against the IXEG 737.
  18. "and now he is one of the best repainters out there!" Does like to blow his own trumpet.....
  19. You can change colours/textures of panels fairly easily by modifying them with a paint editor like Photoshop or Gimp. Changing location of instruments etc would be a big PITA for most users, if not impossible. And probably not worth the effort for all the trouble.
  20. Yeah, you wish....
  21. Can't remember what weight (I just choose randomly). On approach at about your 4th shot distance I'm usually on about 145kts and about 30deg of flaps (3rd or 4th lever setting, not near xp at mo so can't check) and over the threshold I'm at 135kts full flaps. Where it's difficult for me is trying not to flare like other acf - that's a tailbreaker - and hard to get into the habit of flying it nose-level all the way in. My landings are rarely pretty in this thing.....
  22. Wow! In the 4th shot you were a fair way out and pretty much at stall speed. I think I land mine at 135kts (and that's desperately trying to keep it in the air all the way). It's the hardest plane to land - I either arrive at the threshold just about stalling, or halfway down the runway and start praying for someone to lay some extra tarmac quick.
  23. I'm not familiar with xp10 (I have xp9) but have you centered the controls? Usually if you go into Joystick and Keys menu, you can calibrate and center your joystick and pedals. Not sure if this is the cure, but it's the first step I would do.
