  1. The frame rates on my iMac were excellent. I'm wondering, how detailed will other airports be beyond KSEA? I noticed Boeing Field was just pavement, no buildings. Is that for the demo or will airports around the globe be more detailed than runways, taxiways, and ramp space?

X-Plane 10 Demo Available for Download

I got it off of the torrent, if finished just fine.

X-Plane 10 Demo Available for Download

Is anyone else having problems with the Mac version? It just bounces in the dock on launch and never loads.
  4. It's been over 24 hours now since my first post, and I have sent three submissions. Have you received any of them?
  5. Wow, this will be the third submission, but ok.
  6. Just curious, what's the usual wait time for a response? I tried fixing disk permissions, but that did not help. The replies seem to be much faster through the forum, can you just provide the solution on here?
  7. Running OSX 10.6.7 and the CRJ installer is not working. I start it, the installer icon shows up in the dock, and then disappears. The hardware test did this too.
  8. That's an interesting idea, do you think it would be able to function with existing code and gauges, like the HSI and autopilot?
  9. This is a common request but because the MU2 is not wired that way in reality, that feature will have to go in as an "alternate" after I'm satisfied I have the major functions taken care of first...but your request is "in the queue. That's understandable, you should complete it the way you envision it. It would just be a nice feature even if the original MU-2 did not come configured this way. It appears that the MU-2 has been reconfigured in all sorts of ways. I'd venture to say that an MU-2 could even have a Garmin G1000 installed, but I have not seen an MU-2 like that. The one I like the most is the one in that YouTube video I posted.
  10. Sounds great for the current update. It's my understanding that the GPS or lack of one is also an XP9 issue. I understand a fully functional GPS is a tall order. I wouldn't mind seeing one added down the line for XP10 even by another developer. It would just be nice to file direct and shoot GPS approaches, especially for online flying. A toggle switch between NAV 1 and 2 on the HSI would also be nice for IFR flights with no GPS.
  11. It's looking great. One of my biggest complaints was the clarity of gauges; especially the readout for the altimeter setting. That was a pain when flying online with real weather. The night textures also look much better and I hope that the lighting level will be adjustable and be able to turn off when the plane is shut down. As a side note, I'd like to see this planes cockpit modeled in XP10. I like how you've modeled the current MU-2 but it doesn't mean you have to model only that specific MU-2 that you used as a template. I'd like to see a Garmin GPS that works with the HSI. The aircraft in the video has a Garmin 530/430, and a weather radar. It would be cool to see these things in my favorite add-on. Regardless, everything is looking great so far.
  12. Excellent looking paint job. I can't wait to fly it.
  13. I've been trying the online weather for three days now. Locally, it's been clear skies, visibility 10 miles. X-Plane always sets the visibility to 5 miles regardless of the actual weather. Any ideas?
  14. I would love to have a Pilatus PC-12 and the NG or the older one with all systems modeled.
  15. I love the Wilga on their homepage.
  16. Are there plans to cover the US eventually? I guess it would depend on how popular is became.
  17. I think Goodway is ok, but I don't feel it's at a point where I will spend money on it. Once it becomes closer to something light Flight Sim Commander 9. Something like Flight Sim Commander for multiple platforms would be worth the cost. The features are just too few, and the UI is not the best; I think it's a good start. I fly on an iMac, and use an iPad for my checklists, charts, notes, and weather updates. I have various apps that contain all of the approach charts, and use skyvector.com for my enroute charts. I also have a second monitor hooked up to my iMac, and would like to have a program as robust as Flight Sim Commander running, but I also use it to browse the web.
  18. Excellent, that's all I need to know. The MU-2 will be my first X-Plane add-on purchase.
  19. I don't care if someone charges for their product or not. They'll only get what the market will allow. For me, I have a high expectation for quality and realism. I don't want junk thrown together and sold. Some people really do like that; some people don't want to be bothered with all of the mess of firing up an airliner, and programming the FMS. Many people just want to hop in and go. If X-Plane continues to improve and grow in the market, we'll see more developers come on board. You may eventually see some of the high quality MSFS developers start developing regularly for X-Plane. MSFS has X-Plane beat right there; the developer community is large and strong. You can make an argument for which offers the better flight dynamics, but some MSFS developers offer such excellent aircraft that simulate so many details, that people easily overlook that. Beyond aircraft, there are also many third party programs that enhances MSFS even further. I primarily use MSFS right now because of the experience that many of my favorite add-ons give me. I love going through the motions of planning a flight, starting my airliner up from a cold and dark cockpit, programming the FMS and autopilot, and flying my route; even better with live ATC. It's not the flight dynamics that draws me, I don't think a simulator will ever bet that good. Many pilots who use those multi-million dollar sims say the flight dynamics are not spot on, so how can you expect MSFS or X-Plane to be? it's the experience of the aircraft that I like the most. I'm hoping for the best with X-Plane 10 and its developers. It's looking fantastic, and some of these developers have some very promising products on the horizon.
  20. How will this work with us Mac people? Will there be a dmg with an installer instead of an exe?
