  1. That's ok, I get it. Sadly, nobody wins here. I have no more to add.
  2. Well, to be fair, I said that I don't know if I unsubscribed or not. But that is not really the point, though you guys do seem a bit eager to penalize customers for doing so. Your policies are your choice of course, but they seem short-sighted, and out of step with most of the software industry these days. Few people are more enthusiastic about supporting small developers than I am, and I have put untold $$$$ toward my belief that those who provide good value should be rewarded, including a fair amount to X-Aviation. Rarely if ever do I balk at or whine about their pricing structure. But I do not enjoy paying full price for the same product twice, especially given the first one was never really finished to its promised potential. If X-Aviation had said, "well the $15 promotion is over, but we do have an ongoing upgrade price of say, $40" I would not have hesitated - I happily pay upgrade prices all day long. This is what most of the industry does, because they're looking at the bigger picture, and truly care about rewarding and retaining customer loyalty. I used to really like X-Aviation (as demonstrated by repeated purchases), but this is leaving a real sour taste for me. Again you polices are your choice, but I'm not sure you can really know the true cost long-term of this philosophy.
  3. As one who has also long been involved with mass email campaigns, I can sympathize with this. Of course, another option, given these limitations, would have been to not have a time limitation on letting customers who took a chance on the first version (which was never quite finished, even). I would say most companies, large and small, have opted for this route, or at least an initial offer, then graduating to a permanent upgrade price somewhere in the middle. It's almost unheard these days for any provider to reward their customers' loyalty with a hard-line full-price or nothing upgrade policy - you guys are truly the outliers on this one. I only first learned of this new version yesterday, as I have just staring getting back into XP after being totally out of the loop for a year or so. I know that had I know about this offer at the time, I certainly would not have hesitated to jump on it. Oh well, I snoozed I lose, and no one wins here, because at the moment I'm in no mood to pay full price for this product again.
  4. I don't doubt anything you've said here, just that many companies, large and small, have managed to figure it out. In the end, it's your good customers that lose, I guess.
  5. I never received the email, and I check my spam folder every day. It's possible I may have opted out of the marketing emails, I don't know. BUT most companies let you opt out of "marketing" emails but still receive important emails regarding your account and items relevant to purchases (such as those eligible for an upgrade). This email should have been in the latter category. If it was sent as only a marketing email (with the full knowledge that many legit users would miss it because they have understandably opted out of marketing) is kind of bad faith at worst and amateur hour at best.
  6. So I'm learning...thanks, Jan! I'm still quite a novice with this stuff.
  7. Well, since you put it that way... I would have to agree.
  8. That makes sense about the fuel calculations. On that note, is the app supposed to (or able to) inject performance data into the FMC?
  9. Not sure I understand Mischelf's issue 100%, but the app loads fuel into my plane just fine. What I was hoping would also happen is that the app would inject performance data and so pre-populate the perf init values etc in the FMC. This doesn't happen, unless I'm missing a step there.
  10. Just purchased last night and enjoying so far. I'm wondering though, what is the point of entering SIDS and STARS in this app if they are going to be ignored when imported into the 733?
  11. Thanks! Image editing skills no problem but for the rest will have to think about whether it's worth it!
  12. Scenery config file order does not matter with either add-on.
  13. Would this be easy to do for someone without scenery developing experience? What is involved?
  14. It's a library so scenery order doesn't matter, I believe.
  15. Download is taking forever...and that's a good sign!
  16. It's plain economics. Most vendors in the sim world (especially XP- specific I would think) are very small operations (often only 1 person) creating products for a relatively small marketplace (not really a lot of money in it). They don't usually have personnel available whose only job is to communicate to the public. Virtually nobody is getting rich in this industry and probably most don't make a full-time living at it. For the most part it is a labor of love for these creators. And anyone who has any experience with software development knows things almost always go wrong at the last minute and delays are practically inevitable. This happens with big software companies as well, but as you can imagine the smaller the company, the less resources are available to get the product out in time AND communicate with the public efficiently. This is a very simplified explanation but the moral of the story is to be patient or you'll always be frustrated. Just goes with the territory. It'll be out when it's out. Take a deep breath and enjoy all the stuff you already have! No amount of nagging on the forums is going to make the release any sooner.
  17. Cool. Assuming no sticker shock, I'm looking forward to getting some color in the trees!
  18. Hi Cameron...this is a very welcome add-on! Do the caveats regarding orthophotos and 3rd-party scenery apply to the fall-colored trees, being they typically are created with autogen? What about World2X-Plane objects? In other words, is it only the custom (non-autogen) objects that won't get seasonal effects? These questions may or may not make sense as my understanding of these topics is still a bit murky...feel free to set me straight!
