Hiya's, I came across a piece regarding linking the custom scenery folder from one hdd to another hdd It's not that explicit, and leaves me at a standstill I have right mouse clicked my custom folder on F: and placed the shortcut on my C: (both have x-plane 10 obviously) After initial startup, i exit to check the ini which now shows in the shortcut folder (C:\users\ant\desktop\x-plane) , this is what it shows ........... I 1000 version SCENERY SCENERY_PACK F:\X-Plane 10\Custom Scenery/ The shortcut for the actual f: custom scenery folder works a treat, and takes me from c: to f: fine n dandy Anyone know what to edit the above ini too ?? Idea is, c: is a mere 128gb ssd holding W10 x64 + Base X-Plane install, f: 500gb ssd holds my pretty large custom scenery folder and assorted x-plane stuff to wade through and try lol Here is the actual text i came across ################## Take the scenery file (folder) from the "other" folder with the right mouse button and move it back into the original Custom Scenery folder. Release Right mouse button there and select "create shortcut here". Then there is a "shortcut folder" in Custom Scenery folder of your X-Plane 10 installation. Then start X-Plane 10 and exit again. In the scenery_packs.ini now is the entry at the beginning of the file in this way: SCENERY_PACK I:\ additional sceneries\<Scenery Name>/ Where I (for example) is the other hard drive and the scenery is stored in the "additional sceneries" folder there. Instead of Scenery Name, the corresponding name of the scenery appears. In the scenery_packs.ini file you now can move this entry to the correct position. ################### Help Much Appreciated Cheers Numpty Tony

Hiya Robert, What that means is, you can choose to keep items you've changed/modded eg : ............... In Resources/Bitmaps/skycolors ..........You may of changed something in there, so the install is asking if you want to keep the whole folder as it is or replace with default/stock items It also oviously lets you keep or make singlular default/stock items back I've just done this, i have HD runways concrete grass etc etc, i just click to keep the whole folder option, that way, i don't have to redo all my items and the game/sim gets updated Hope that makes sense Tony

Hiya, Damn, your roads and cars i can't even reproduce on my rig lol I use noaa/smp/rwc, the rwc i use checked/ticked middle option of the three as i have noaa working Besides background stuff running, i can only suggest dropping the roads/cars down and checking the rwc settings just to see if any changes occur (trying different options as per rwc post) I found one thing but maybe it's only me, i have 4gb vram, if i venture up to the 2gb usage mark as per checking via x-planes render options, i can get stuttering/fps drop So i check in heavy fps dropping places eg : free klax/eham etc to find a balance 2gn usage or less at high fps drop areas I don;t run Extended DSF no more either, will do when i get new gpu Tony ps: I have ati/amd gpu at the moment, google etc for your nvidia settings/control panel etc, maybe those might benefit with checking or changing settings ?

Hiya, First off, try clouds from High down to Low res, you'd be surprised how little you notice and how much fps you could gain Cloud size back at default, or try furthest (lowest) left The cloud area range try midway or less Shadows in any game/sim are fps droppers, try off (for now, then if you get rest to your liking see what the fps hit is) Try sparse particles for now Set the above, then start upping, i would try to get the cloud res/size acceptable, then try broadening the raduis of them in conjunction with the actual cloud size I found it best to start at low settings and work up, i find it easier anyways that way For me, i find size/type of cloud i can live with, then go from there Food for thought Tony

Hiya, Regarding Osamah's sceneries, it's a pita but on a lot of his vids he does put which sceneries he uses I can tell you now the vast majority i saw were payware, so they soon add up to plenty of dollars lol If you do ask him on yt in the comments he does usually replay fast if he has time And of course he takes onboard peoples requests when he can or it's something he hasn't previously covered I think like most, he's just enjoying the new bird hehe The fms/c whatever the term is threw me right off the bat, this plane was my first payware, only used to creating and loading fms plans in free/donate-ware planes So this fancy setup i was almost in the dark from the get-go Stuck with it, now with navigraph and simbrief etc i'm getting there I'm just replicating his EGCC ENBR run off his vid Third time lol, first i had to shutdown pc as i forgot to turn water rad fans on so things got a wee bit warm, second, well, i went afk for a java run, got chatting to the boss 'her' lol, had to come down like a brick to lose alt, then to cap it, i hadn't set the airport altitude so i was still somewhat too high and fast This time, looks good so far, 10mins out of manchester, flying over my area of the world now Have Fun Tony

Here's a tale of woe and frustration from myself .......... A certain swedish company ........ A Micro Transaction game/sim Last October, havoc ensued from a new 'area' they added Crashing for many hundreds if not thousands of players, and reading and asking old playing mates it's still the same lol 1k Dollars i threw at it myself in 9mths as i loved it so much, others up to 3-5k Dollars !! The game is still crashing, the big spenders have stopped spending The compay has addressed the crashing by fixing it ? NO, they keep releasing more micro transaction items to keep the coffers topped up while they bury their heads in the deep sand where developers can take your money and players/buyers have nothing they can do except wait lol (should be criminal, one day hopefully it will be) They even had the cheek to make some/us believe some 'beta sessions' were to test for bugs, not only did they not want the main crashing bug info, they only wanted to see if the new items worked lmao, they then added more, yes more, Micro Transaction items in the bug-soup roflmao So bigbasspic ....................... Coming from that outlay dollar-wise, to this group/company of guys (and maybe gals ) who have persisted for say six years, try and stay the course and let them crack the bugs in which from my pov they're squatting them faster than most others would even attempt As you're a coder yourself, you should know the spectrum of hd or sw combos out in the real world, can show up bugs that were never even encountered in testing Yes it had problems, here's something that's fact that keeps me sane .............
