Gear indicators go to red during flight
737NUT replied to deimos256's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
Nils, if you go to my video and scroll to the 48:50 mark you will see what happens very clearly https://www.twitch.tv/raflyer/v/62448635 Hope that helps Rob -
I highly recommend the Teensy interface board from PRJC.com, it uses Arduino programming but has native X-plane plugin and is True USB not serial like arduino boards. As Frumpy said, not hard at all. Rob

I tried the CTRL + NUM KEY and it didn't work. I will try again

Here is my 3rd flight and first video using the amazing IXEG 733 in my full size sim. Thanks to my awesome FOBlondie and my IXEG I am living a dream! I have allot more reprogramming to do get all the functions interface from the previous setup Enjoy the video! OH! and if any of you know anyone that works for either Honeywell or an avionics shop, I need the pinouts for my Honeywell CDU that I have. Thanks!! https://www.twitch.tv/raflyer/v/62448635 To the IXEG team that may watch this, starting at the 10;23 mark, it is funny as my fiance' goes on and on about the dirty windscreen you guys created LOL! Gear indicators go to red during flight

Nils, I am using a real Gear Lever and 99% of the time it works great but every once and awhile when I drop the handle for gear down I get red transit lamp flash before going green. Rob -
Thank you IXEG! You have helped me realize a long time dream of simulating my favorite aircraft! For those who don't know, I have a full size replica 737-300 in my basement using all real 737-300 parts except the MCP. I have been flying the 732 until know. Now the 733 takes over! Last night I tried to 'translate' my view just outside the cockpit as i did before in the 732. I do this since i'm in a cockpit already and don't want the pillars in my screen view. Well as i'm moving towards the windscreen, BAM! It stops, just like if you tried to stick your head out a closed window! LOL You can't translate or move your viewpoint outside thru the glass and framework of the 733, how realistic and cool. Although I will need to find a way I thought it was a neat little feature. Looking forward to many many flights in this amazing plane! Rob

Hello, Awesome job on the 733!! Absolutely love it. If you did't know, I have a full size sim that uses all real parts from 737-300 early all steam version. I was looking at the datarefs and noticed you use 'degree's' as the needle position on most of the gauges. I have 2 questions on that process, 1) No matter where the scale starts on a given gauge face, do you reference each gauge as top being 0/360, right being 90, bottom being 180, left being 270? 2) Are you manipulating any of the data before it is displayed on the gauge or are you getting it from a default x-plane dataref? Thanks! Rob
-
Absolutely! In fact you could fly it just like the 732, manual throttle, heading mode, vorloc mode and altitude hold. Rob
-
LOL for sure but when you have everything else real other than the shell it makes more sense.

I have real strobes off of a 737 in my basement and when I turn them on they never start and sync the same way. One usually starts quicker than the other. Makes for a cool dance theme though while flying lol

Do you want to be part of something special? Important? FUN? and most of all full of flying in a 737-200 Sim using all reall working parts!!? If yes, then join me and fellow other sim enthusiast in World Flight 2016 this coming November 6th through the 12th in South Bend, IN. It is for a great cause and I guarantee you that you will have a blast and hopefully learn more about this awesome hobby. You can fly the whole 7 days, just one afternoon or any combination in between. We will be having workshops as well that will teach Interfacing techniques, wiring, and grounding, programming Arduino, SIOC, and many other options. I have room for a few folks in my home and there are many hotels close by. If interested, please let me know asap and I'll pencil you in but please note, I need solid commitments by September . Also this is a group effort! Team USA #1 is based in Florida and uses an FDS based Full 737-800 so if you are closer to Sarasota Florida please join them in this great cause! I am starting Team USA #2 in South Bend, IN . 5 mins north of KSBN Any questions please feel free to ask and spread the word! Thanks! Music to my ears. Thanks!

Gotta start somewhere. Where you based? I have my PPL but haven't flown since 2008
-
Thank you! I am 2 miles north of KSBN, or 1.5hrs east of Chicago and 2.5hrs north of Indianapolis. Come on over and fly!
-
Gauges are all REAL 737 gauges all bought from various sources online. Prices vary wildly so be patient and shop around. Interfacing all this is no trival task but very rewarding none the less. If anyone is ever in my area feel free to come by and fly it. Rob

N1 gauge was noted to maint and was promised will be fixed before next video. Thanks

In preparation for the upcoming release IXEG 737, I am steaming ahead in my sim build. Crossed a major milestone today. Got the DME digital readouts working on the real HSI. Made a video of a departure out of Las Vegas on pilotedge. Warning, video for true aircraft geeks only. LOL Rob

For your viewing pleesure, Is it real or Fake??

Anytime! I enjoy sharing the sim. Yes, I have done this on my own but had some invaluable input from some guys way smarter than me. I have been working on it for about 16 months probably 20hrs a week Allot of research time though and searching for info on the real parts. -

Scenery is Glitter Gulch and I use RTH as well. Please note, that the popping in of lights in distance is do to my lower world detail settings. I am running this entire pit off a 7yr old PC and 6600TI card so my settings are average or a little better in x-plane. -

If the IXEG is as good as it says then absolutely! The only change needed would be the EPR gets ignored and I would need to add a GPS. Cool thing is, most of my parts are from an early 737-300! -

I use 2 stepper motors turning Synchro Transmitters that send the appropriate 3 phase signal the the ADI is expecting to see. Some principle used on the RMI, HSI, ASI, and Alitimeters. Thank you! Thanks! I am using Glitter Gulch by Tom Curtis -
This is what I will be flying the IXEG 733 in when it is released. Had a blast today and tonight on PilotEdge with my kids in my little 737-200 Sim. The approach into Vegas looked pretty darn real if you ask me. I made a comment jokingly on final that the controller dumped me into the approach to high hence the sink rate sink rate on approach LOL Thanks for another great day of flying on PilotEdge with my kids. My daughter was my co-pilot and my son recording. Enjoy the video, lots of cool action and radio chatter. Rob https://youtu.be/dJwXRpJ_9lU

Thanks VETTE, I bought the parts from ebay and other sources, had allot of technical help, throw in some garage black magic and I got a dream come true. Got a friend building an exact copy in chicago except he is using 5 60" tv's and an FDS aluminium shell Rob

This is why it's important to me, my sim I have in my basement. Don't want or need the cockpit view I have a full 737-200 or early 300 using all real parts. Rob
