1. Good video mate. Expect to see way better details on Goran's 747 and the Dash though. And can't help but see the front wheel sinking through the tarmac on Peter's 380....due to your scenery or the model?
2. Had my Nikon D90 (DSLR) for about a year now, and thought it was well overdue to do some video work with it. So I got together with a mate who also has a D90 and we spend 40 minutes putting together a mime (with his brother) of Elvis' song "If I Could Dream." Hope you like it - lots more to refine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385">

When will it be done? LOLOL *don't kill me Goran* Jokes. Hope works progressing well mate. Keep it up.
4. Thanks mate. Did alright... Yea, nice and green around here.
5. Let me tell the story about Tuffy (my starlet). The other afternoon I decided to take a couple of friends for a drive on a dirt road near Warragul, VIC. What a drive it was into unknown territory! After traveling 15 or so kms up a dirt road we came to a this river crossing. There were quite a number of campers with bikes and big 4WDs there so we got out. After surveying the river and campsite for a bit, we decided to get back in the car and drive, well, I'll take the blame....I decided to drive through the river. In all fairness though, I thought there was a concrete pad at the crossing and that the water was running over it. Mistake 1. So we start driving down the entry road and people just start turning out to stand on the bank and watch - one guy says, "I don't like your chances mate!" Another said, "Mate, I'll tow you out if you need it." I was wondering what on earth they were talking about. I'm still thinking about the concrete slab on the bottom and why in the world they were belittling my starlet by suggesting it couldn't even drive across a water covered concrete slab! So I continued down into the water.... ...And to my shock, it was just the rocks of the riverbed underneath!!! My bad! Oh well, we were committed now! So across we drove and boy, we only just got across...at times, the car was only just moving. Water nearly up to the bonnet. After getting across, I said to my mates in the car, "So you can get through this way right?" They were like, "Uhm, no I don't think so..." GREAT!!!! hahaa After driving up the road for a while we decided the only way home was to get back through the river we'd crossed. One of my mates and I had talked about a jump across the river earlier, but that was in reference to an MX bike, not a starlet...but the thought did cross my mind, I admit. Well, no way out than going back across the river just the way we'd come. The photos I've included are on the return crossing. Half the camp turned out to watch. So this time I decide we needed more speed....which quickly dissipated about half way across....where we couldn't go any further forward. So I quickly chucked it in reverse and then 1st again and got enough momentum to get past....needless to say, we got right back through! You should have seen the cheering! All the way up the camp site people had heard about it or seen it and were giving us the thumbs up as we drove out. Just after us, three 4WDs drove through and one guy said, "It would have been pretty embarrassing if we got stuck!!!" Another guy was telling me that most guys with 4WDs really size it up before crossing....we just drove straight through....call it stupid or lucky...it was still a laugh from all sides! BTW, one guy had a Mitsubishi Magna and tried to go through after us since we'd gotten through...and he got stuck and when they towed him out, he smashed the oil pan, or engine somewhere and oil was leaking out - he fried his engine.. Pics are linked here (sorry about the quality - just taken with mobile phone): Kind Regards, Reuben
6. Seriously man, have a look at a few of the other projects around here and indeed, almost anywhere, and you'll find that it's almost impossible to give a realistic release date that people will be happy with and that you can actually accomplish. You might see a plane that's nearly complete in Blender on the external model, and even the cockpit, but it's no where near ready to fly in the sim. It's more than just what you see that takes the time in development. When you're working with a real life and doing X-Plane as as a part time hobby, things can take some time. Be patient and the devs will tell you when it's about ready.

Mate, thanks. I'm aware of that. Pretty much aware of all these issues, but one deal with each problem on an individual basis. As Goran said, the shots we show you are just quick screens and don't reflect a perfected model with everything ironed out. The front wheel of which you speak, for instance, is just a matter of moving it on the y axis so it actually touches the tarmac...5 second job, but as I said, there are other more pressing issues which we're looking at first. Rest assured, this will be fixed and the other texture anomalies you see the other screen shots. Thanks for the comments. Keeps us all ticking.... Anyway, I'd better get back to work before Goran shoots me for being on the forum instead. lol Reuben
8. You nearly had a deal, but you killed it with the PC part. You've lost me now. lol Anyway, you have a toll-free number? hehe
9. So this purchase will be shipped with a new 100 core mac with 10 Tbytes of ram and a radiator the size of a swimming pool? Sweet Goran...that's insane stuff. Very tidy job. Well done! R

As of this morning, work continues in the cockpit with 3d instrumentation being animated and textured. This is the office you'll be where you'll spending most of your time (that's if you can keep your eye's off the beautiful exterior...lol!), so it has to be done right and must be as accurate as possible. Of course, this takes time, but as Goran said, we're hoping not to be too far off target. Reuben
11. I LOVE it man. Can't stop staring at that wing box. Congrats fellow Aussi.
12. Goran, that wing box looks a treat. The hard hours paid off on that one mate. Congrats - ur a pro.
13. Looks very promising mate. Steady as she goes.
14. Thanks Cameron. I'll post some in-sim shots soon. Currently I'm working on the 3D panel/instruments, so that should add some life to the plane.
15. Airborne XT-912 A high-quality aircraft model being developed for for X-Plane. I'm pleased to announce the development of this popular micro-light, the XT912, for X-Plane. As some of you know, my name is Reuben Mowbray from XPFW, and am the author of the Cessna 310R project. As I have been waiting on resources and data for that model (which I have been able to obtain a large part of over the last few weeks), I have started a couple of other projects in efforts to learn how to model in Blender and over time, I have become more adept at using this awesome 3D design program. The XT912 project is one of those projects. I am some way from completing this model, and the time of completion depends on my own personal time to do so, however, be assured...it won't be too long. Please find project updates in this thread as I continue to develop this bird. Any comments and suggestions of features to be implemented are welcomed. Here are some pictures of the current state:
16. Looking really nice mate - you're getting a real feel of blender. I bet you're looking forward to render baking and textures.
17. Edge split is an essential modifier. You'll learn to love it. Just allows you to set the crease angle. I think AC3D does it automatically, at a value of about 45% from memory, but I like blender's manual "do-it-yourself" approach. ~R
18. For goodness sake! Why don't you find something remotely useful to do Raf!!!!! What do you actually hope to gain out of this. Notoriety? Publicity? Everyone's hatred? Mate, why are you trying to spoil the XP community? Think long and hard about your intentions, and remember, this could escalate a lot further than you think as far as penalties and punishment. ~R
19. Good stuff. However, don't underestimate it - a light GA craft would be PLENTY for you to get your teeth into. All the best.
20. Looking really nice man! Keep up the good work. You'll really enjoy blender after you get used to it.
21. Very nice Jim. That MU2 is such a great looking bird. Love the scenery too.
