  1. Now you're just teasing.
  2. Yep, not there. $10 it's a permission.
  3. Either I'm a blind idiot or- nope, I'm a blind idiot. Where is it? Edit: I bet it's a permission set for those over a certain post count.
  4. Yes Simon, same configuration as FSN.
  5. Great news. Congratulations to everyone for a (seemingly) smooth transition.
  6. That's just it- for a growing number of people it's not whether they will be disappointed, it's that they are already disappointed. X-Plane 10 is already a miss, and it hasn't even come out yet. Not a good start. Yet I'm glad to say I'm not one of those people. The wait means nothing to me, in fact I don't even think I've opened X-Plane in the past month... Gosh, I should be shot.
  7. Good, I hope it continues to work out for you.
  8. Because that's not what I want for it. Long term objectives at play. Right. Why try and conquer X-Plane one aircraft at a time when you can do them all at once? ;D ;D ;D
  9. Remove all aircraft, plugins, and custom scenery. Put in a default plane (like the Cirrus), see if it works. If not, I think your next step would be to re-install X-Plane.
  10. Once again: download the demo and try that. Then we'll know whether it's an issue between your computer and X-Plane or if it's an issue between your computer, X-Plane, and an add-on.
  11. Depends how you look at it I guess: some will see it as Lion being king and all the apps have to work with it instead of the other way around. Makes more sense really, you can't expect Apple to test Lion with every single app and add-on to see how it works. It's the developer's responsibility and of course it takes some time for them to fix any issues... hence why we recommend waiting.
  12. I did that. There is no reason I shouldn't have upgraded to Lion. It is stable and many other x-plane users are using it. I am not saying my problem is because of Lion. Steven didn't say the problem was because of Lion. You're correct, Lion is stable. Just because Lion is stable doesn't mean that all the programs it can open will be. This is why Steven recommended against the upgrade- sit tight and wait other to find the issues and for for authors to update their programs to work with the new OS. What you are now is essentially a beta tester- not for the new OS but for all the apps that it can run.
  13. Don't know what you're trying to show here, but:
  14. Post a detailed description of your system's specs and a screenshot of your rendering options page; we should be able to help you tweak your settings a little bit to squeeze a little more performance out of your rig.
  15. I have to warn you- pick your fps goal now and stick with it. When I changed computers I went from ~20fps to 100+, and now I can't stand it when the fps gets below 40. Of course this means I'm missing out on a lot of potential detail, but since I got used to the high fps I'm stuck with it. Play around with your settings and try and find a good balance- good luck!
  16. What do I win?
  17. My trip to Maui was very nice, but nothing beats home sweet home Southeast Alaska; except maybe some parts of the Alps and Southern New Zealand... How much of your time spent on creating a package is put into the terrain data? I'd certainly pay for some higher-resolution, correct terrain files.
  18. No harm in waiting. I have the same opinion as you and while I couldn't upgrade right now anyway, when I get a new Mac in a year I'll be sure to still have my Snow Leopard disk around.
  19. Monster machine for a great price... congratulations. I really enjoy the 1GB card in my PC.
  20. Nothing on Honolulu, no. What work I have seen of yours is truly inspiring to those of us just getting started.
  21. Well show us what ya got now first. ;D
  22. Send Nicholas an e-mail or PM stating the products you have bought recently and see what he says.
  23. 99% sure it's "joyfulsongster". And from the store: "This is a $30 value for free"
  24. Yep, the photo textures ruin it. I believe photo textures are the best way to go if done correctly- the results I'm getting from my experiments with my local airport are amazing. Of course it's much easier to do photo textures when you have airport access...
  25. Absolutely most certainly not.* If you want the 8GB RAM vs. the 4GB (I personally would) don't buy the upgrade from Apple. Buy the computer equipped with 4GB RAM and purchase the upgrade from a external supplier (Newegg is a personal favorite). The price will be less. I've done this now with two Macs, my old MacBook and an old Mac Mini. Both times the process was easy and cheap. Ultimately the choice is yours of course, and either way you won't go wrong. I just see double RAM as much better than and extra 0.2 GHz. *It should also be noted that you can upgrade the hard drive in most Macs; even in laptops.
