Thanks or the info... Unfortunately, unless you can recreate this consistently and/or somebody else reports the same problem, there's not much I can do. Nothing changed in the plugin code regarding that function since the last version so there's no reason it shouldn't work as designed. Keep me posted if you can recreate this consistently. Jim
-
Cheers I am unable to recreate this. Does this happen every time you load the C400, or only intermittently? If anyone else can recreate this please let me know. Jim
-
Zach, What you are seeing means that the plugin is not loading/running. Please post your log.txt file, systems specs, and xp version. Jim

rddaos, Yes, the FMS is reset every time you quit x-plane. You can "save" a flight plan for later use but you can not save the "status" of a flight plan. I have no idea whether or not XP10 will change this. Jim

Look into "Transform Orientations" .. it can do everything you are looking for. Jim

The next update will not have a pop-up of the MFD, however, if you use the PilotView plug-in you can create your own views that can be quickly accessed. The moving map is getting an upgrade in the next update. If I understand you correctly regarding the manipulators, this is actually a Laminar/XP problem that they know about... there are other threads that discuss this. If you are talking about the "click-spots" for the PFD and MFD SoftKeys (triangles) that is a different story as they are not manipulators and I may be able to do some "adjustments" there. I agree, the tutorial could be better As of Version 1.0 of the Corvalis the lights are reset when you leave the Corvalis and go to ANY OTHER aircraft. I'm not sure why you would be having a problem. Does this occur with any other aircraft besides the Falco? If not I would suggest you write to Tom and see if he has any suggestions. I am glad you are enjoying the aircraft. Jim

The new DRM is tied into the release of other aircraft such as the CRJ, so, once that is released and things calm down a little for Cameron we will release the Corvalis update. When we are VERY CLOSE to that date we will release the change list. I can't even begin to think about when version 2.0 will be available... too much else to do first Jim edit: I have no problem testing the magnetos... please check again.

If the Corvalis had a "standard" yoke then animation would be easy. However, the Corvalis has a "leather" boot at the bottom of the side stick, which is much harder to animate. While I understand that this may change the overall simulation (immersion) it certainly does not affect the "flight model". So, I decided to NOT animate the pedals OR the stick. I guess some will find this an issue but most will probably not. I feel that Nils is one of the best developers of X-Plane add-ons, so if I don't currently measure up I guess I can live with that. On the other hand Nils once posted about the Yak... "I'm up to 14 2048x2048 texture maps so she's a bit of a VRAM hog at the moment, which becomes noticeable on my laptop with only 256Mb." I'm not sure if the Yak (as it was released) had that many textures. But, if the Corvalis had (14) 2048x2048 textures then the "lettering" of the instruments would be much higher resolution. There is always a decision to be made between number of textures and performance (FPS). When I do a complete overhaul of the Corvalis (Version 2.0) the "entire" aircraft will be improved, including the "lettering". You wrote... "I'm sure there are many other things that could improve the aircraft, but since I don't know very much about flight systems, I wouldn't notice them. " Well, I guess if you are going to "suggest" that I make improvements or updates to the aircraft it would be helpful you were specific. Maybe if you don't "notice" a need to improve the "flight systems" then they really don't need to be improved! Many Corvalis customers have commented that the aircraft is "very" accurate as far as performance is concerned. So, if you want the "flight systems" to be improved/updated then give me the details, otherwise I can't help you. Jim @Oliver.. thanks for the explanation of DRM.

A new update is already done. We are implementing a new DRM system and when that is done the update will be released. Any time the POH changes we will issue an update for it as well. I'd be interested to know what else you feel would make the aircraft better. This version of the Corvalis/Garmin G1000 (Garmin Pilot Guide version 190-00552-01 Rev D.) does not include DME. You can program an NDB identifier into the FMS. Thanks for your continued interest. Jim

LIZZ, Sounds like the DRM is causing the plane to shut down. You may need to re-activate. Please send an e-mail to http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/contact_us.php and Cameron should be able to help you out. Jim

We will post the change log when the release date is VERY CLOSE Jim

Tim, The next version of the Corvalis (1.3) is already done. Nothing will be changed in this update with regard to the registration number. Currently the 2D cockpit registration number is driven by the plugin and therefore not changeable. The 3D cockpit registration number (as well as the fuselage reg #) are part of the "textures" and can be modified by "painting" a new texture. At this point your suggestion of a "tailnumber.txt" file would only change the 2D cockpit. This feature has been requested and you can find more info here... http://wiki.x-plane.com/Next-Gen_Liveries_RFC#Tail_Number I appreciate your thoughts regarding this and look forward to further discussion. Regards, Jim
-
Tim, X-Plane works differently than MSFS. The registration numbers for the Corvalis (as displayed in the cockpit) are hard coded in the plugin so that they change with the various liveries. The registration numbers on the fuselage are part of the fuselage texture. So, unfortunately, you will not be able to change the registration number for the cockpit. You could create your own texture to "re-paint" the fuselage with your own registration numbers. Jim

OK, I think have found the problem. If you look at the sample file you sent me you will see that the fifth line has no/blank data. This line describes the "starting" location for the FMS. This usually occurs when you fail to press the INIT Key and then the D> (Direct To) Key "PRIOR" to entering the subsequent waypoints. Please see page 137 of the C400 POH (Rev. 100118-01a) under the Heading "CREATING AN ACTIVE FLIGHT PLAN" for the proper sequence for creating a flight plan. This should solve your problem. Good luck. Jim

Are you able to "load" any of your flight plans? Or, does this only happen with the flight plan you saved from the C400? If you post the flight plan file I will take a look at it. Jim

Lizz, Thanks for the compliments. I hope you continue to enjoy the aircraft. Jim

Michael, The Corvalis uses the standard X-Plane database... The splash screen is just eye candy. The current X-Plane database is available here... http://data.x-plane.com/
-
The ReadyPad is also available in the 3D cockpit... it is located in the center console as it is in "real life". Enjoy the aircraft. Jim

Cessna introduced the Corvalis TTx at Sun N' Fun a few days ago. it's awesome !! Here is the brochure... Enjoy TTx_Brochure.pdf.zip

Change to POH and Tutorial for entering a waypoint in the FMS
JGregory replied to JGregory's topic in Cessna Corvalis
The 2D panel is 2048 wide. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll right and left, which should allow you to bring the entire ReadyPad into view. Not sure about Goodway as I don't use it... maybe someone else will comment on that. Jim -
Hey Jason, Do the speedbrakes you are showing in the pics appear "exactly" as they are on the aircraft ? I don't see how they would be that effective as there is very little surface area. As far as a Lancair is concerned... the speed brakes in the picture appear to be "too close" to the fuselage and do not look at all like a Precide Flight speedbrake. The mystery continues...
-
Lancair uses the same speedbrakes as the Columbia/Cessna (manufactured by Precise Flight), so it's not that either.
